Story
Chowder is a deaf pitbull mix. She is SWEET, and well trained using sign language. Her favorite sign is a thumbs up, which says she's being a good girl. She loves working for treats and learns quickly. Chowder is healthy, two years old, 40#, spayed, and up to date on all of her shots, and heart-worm prevention. Genetic and breed testing showed no markers for genetic diseases or allergies, and she is mostly pit. I'll provide paperwork. She has graduated from beginner and intermediate dog school, and knows some basic ASL. I’ve worked closely with a trainer at dog school, and in the home, who has offered to provide training to whoever adopts Chowder, to ensure she and her new person/family learn each other well and achieve a sustained adoption. Chowder's guarding behaviors can lead to her attacking other dogs. She loves to play, and with muzzle training (to ensure safety), she would love to meet dog friends, but needs to be the only dog in her furrever home.

Story
I was at 711 and heard a dog yelping thought it got hit by a car went behind 711 to see a homeless man beating a dog with a stick I intervened and was able to get the dog away from the man and into my car . He must have been getting beat a lot he has scars all over his body especially his head. He is amazingly sweet and cuddly. Very very good with people surprisingly. But is reactive to other animals. He loves to lay around and cuddle and sleep. He also gets very excited and pounces around like a bunny. He is very large and needs somebody very strong to be able to walk him he is very strong. But the most amazing dog i have ever met i need to find him someone who can love him and be with him forever and wont hit him he has been through enough abuse in his life and just needs someone to love him

Story
Adoption fee partially sponsored by Petfinder Foundation Miami!!!! Miami came to Butte Humane Society recently as an owner surrender, she is a 3-year-old American Bully who has gone through an adventure to make her way to Chico CA. Originally, she was picked up as a stray in Southern California. A gentleman saw her on a website for another shelter and she was at risk of being euthanized. With time running out the gentleman had Miami transported to him in order to save her life. Due to her strength and size her rescuer could no longer care for her and surrendered her to Butte Humane Society to find a younger owner. Miami loves people and loves to share the couch with you. She is used to sleeping in a crate at night and doesn't have that big of a toy drive. She is ready to meet you and become a part of your family, come down to see her at Butte Humane Society today. All animals adopted from Butte Humane Society are evaluated by a veterinarian, spayed or neutered, provided with vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and have received heartworm, flea/tick preventatives prior to adoption.

Meet Nova! Nova is a 4-year-old Pitty who’s as sweet as syrup on a short stack of pancakes! At 54 pounds, she’s the perfect cuddle buddy, always ready to snuggle up and show her affectionate side. Nova enjoys her playtime, especially running along the fence to interact with other dogs in nearby yards. She’s tends to pull on the leash- training should help. While Nova has been selective in dog meet-and-greets, she’s shown potential to get along with the right canine companion. A dog-to-dog introduction will be essential if she’s joining a multi-dog home. To learn more about Nova, visit shelter.org. You can schedule a meet-and-greet or stop by to meet her on Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Don’t miss your chance to meet this wonderful girl! Could Nova be your perfect match?
