Story
Meet Maggie - a brave and gentle girl who loves to play, but can also be quiet and independent when the occasion calls for it. Maggie is a friendly girl who loves to be around people and receive lots of affection and pats. She's a dignified dog who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go for it. Under her composed exterior, she has a goofy side that will surely make you laugh. Maggie has been through a lot and we suspect was a mommy more than once, but her gentle spirit remains unbroken. She would do best in a quiet home where she can feel safe and comfortable as she blossoms. She doesn't pay attention to other dogs and says she prefers to be the solo dog. If you're looking for a funny, furry friend who will stick by your side through thick and thin, come meet Maggie today! Story
***Located in Houston, TX*** Available for transport. Hi! Kona is an adorable puppy born with 7 other siblings. Mom who is pictured with them wandered into an apartment complex very pregnant and starving. The weather was getting cold and rainy but animal control told the people who lived in the apartments if any food or shelter was placed for her they would not come pick her up. Luckily we were able to make space in a foster home where she gave birth to 8 healthy pups 2 days later. She has been a wonderful mama dog with her pups. Kona is growing into a wonderful, sweet, loving and happy girl and is eager to find her forever home. She is one of the more shy and less outgoing of the litter so would do best in a home where she can go to training and have lots of socialization. Due to breed restrictions the puppies are not available to any rental situations and all applicants must have 5 years vet history with a previous pet. If you would like more information please email westhoustonanimalrescue@yahoo.com.

Story
Roxy 'Girlie Pop' better known as Roxy Girl is definitely the star of our home and she brings nothing but pure happiness and joy. Roxy was rescued by us in November of 2023 from the BCSPCA from unspeakable living conditions. When Roxy Girl came to us it took a lot of patience to see this beautiful dog shine into who she is today. With no fault of her own she is unfortunately needing to be re-homed due to my neighbor's and Strata. This is beyond a difficult decision but Roxy Girl deserves a home where she can flourish. Roxy Girl would need to be the star of the family and with proper introduction and experienced owners she may do well with one other big dog. She loves the out doors so someone who is active is a must as well as a home that has it's own entrance as well as a yard would be ideal. I am not seeking any money for re-homing Roxy Girl as she means the world to me and I looking for the right environment for her to live her best life.

Story
✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to Vancouver & Toronto💟 Meet Mina💞 * Interaction with People: Likes people! Is shy initially with strangers but soon approaches them with affection and acts charming. Is not usually the type to approach first but does not shy away from contact, enjoying and accepting gentle touches. * Interaction with Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs. Often greets new dogs at the Center first and welcomes those approaching her without reservation. Tolerates playful nips well from other dogs. Mingles with any dog without confrontation. * Separation Anxiety: It’s hard to determine because she is residing in a group at the Center. Appears content and relaxed even when alone. * Potty Training: Currently uses outdoors potty while living at the Center. Occasionally has potty accidents in her kennel when it is urgent. * Hygiene: Stays still while being enjoying being touched by humans. Accepts baths and brushing nicely. Is patient enough to have her nail trimmed quietly once her paws are firmly held. * Walks: Isn’t used to walks yet so is undergoing training. Doesn’t feel any discomfort with leashes and harnesses. Wears clothes well but takes them off promptly on her own maybe due to their tight feeling. 💌Special Notes💌 * Her skin discoloration should improve in a cleaner environment. * Though timid, Mina sometimes acts boldly. Her personality is somewhat cat-like but her charm is her affection and smile coming through despite that. * Is kennel-trained. ❗Health Status❗ * Spay: Complete * Others: Microchipped, heartworm negative * Due to the muddy conditions at the Center, Mina’s legs have become discolored from constant contact with dirt. This has not affected her health or skin. * She is getting weekly medicated baths due to skin trouble presumably caused by allergies.

Story
Hey friends! My name is Rocco and here's more about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Staffordshire Terrier mix Age: 4 years 11 months approx.  Gender: Male Weight: 44lbs (20 kg)  Current Location: Guadalajara Mexico RESCUE STORY - My name's Rocco and I'm a survivor! My first few years were marked by abandonment as I was left to fend for myself on the busy streets of Guadalajara, Mexico. I spent my days begging strangers for scaps and sipping from toilet bowls (an acquired taste). I was living a bustling gas station which was a rather dangerous environment for me to be in and I was found with several nasty lacerations on my body to prove it. When some kind souls finally rescued me from this perilous existence, my journey to healing began! Over the course of a year, my frail figure and broken soul slowly mended and I was able to pull off a great transformation - not just of the physical kind, but of my spirit as well! My exuberant and loving personality began to show and I started to reflect and return all the heartfelt affection of the people who gave me a second chance at life. My rescuers say my progress towards being the incredible pup I am today is testament to the healing power of love! TEMPERAMENT - I am verrrrry loving and deeply enjoy the company of humans. This also means I can be quite bouncy and energetic around people and I do well with boundaries to remind me that I can't give you hugs ALL the time (dang!). I play well with other dogs too although I can be reactive to some male dogs who try to dominate me and would do well with a family who is willing to work on this with me. Luckily for you, my foster family says I am very obedient, smart, and responsive to training...I've learned several commands in training school! I am also the perfect mix of energetic/playful while outside and calm while at home. If you choose to add me to your life I will repay you 1000x with all the kisses and love in the world! ENERGY LEVEL - Moderate GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – I am friendly and sweet with older children but can be rambunctious so supervision and an assertion of boundaries is recommended - see here (this is because I don't know my own strength and can be bouncy - for this reason I wouldn't do well in a home with younger children).  Dogs – I do well with other non-dominant dogs (see here and here) but can play a littttle rough (that rambunctiousness again!). I can be reactive to dominant male dogs and would do well with an owner who is willing to work on this with me.  Cats – Unknown  PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – My rescuers say I am great with my leash skills as you can see here, however I may need some additional patience and training. House trained – My rescuer says I am doing very well with this but I may need some additional training and patience.  Crate trained – My rescuer says this is going well but I may need some additional training and patience.  Car rides – I can get nervous in a car and may need some additional training to help me relax and enjoy this relatively new experience. I have been enrolled in training and I know some commands like 'sit', 'stay' and 'no'. I am a very smart boy if I say so myself! Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I have a few small scars on my body from some old wounds - one medium sized scar is on my leg.  I am neutered and vaccinated. NOTE: dogs from Guadalajara are not microchipped. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $728.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. Story
Hellooooo out there!! My name is Gizmo and here's my deets: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Staffordshire terrier/Lab mix (just a guess!) Age: 1 year 4 months approx. Gender: Male Weight: 53lbs (24 kg) Current Location: Baja Mexico RESCUE STORY - Like my super sweet sis, Gucci, I was found abandoned as a tiny pup with all my siblings! You can imagine that we were quite a sight for sore eyes at the time. Thankfully, some pretty nice hoomans took us in and cleaned us up and now I'm ready to find my furever home in the Pacific Northwest with you!! Whaddya say?! TEMPERAMENT - The kind hoomans at the shelter say that I am quite the 'mellow fellow', even as a puppy! What an awesome trait to have. I'm also a very good boy on a leash and I looooove affection and giving hoomans hugs and kisses (my ruff beginnings didn't break my soul one bit!!). I would make the ultimate cuddle bud and would do well in a family that enjoys taking me for a stroll and then snuggling up on the couch (so basically, almost anyone!).  ENERGY LEVEL - Low/Moderate GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown Dogs – Yep!! I get along just fine with other dogs.  Cats – No thank you! Story
Loveable Hank! We don't know much about Hank's early life, but this gentle guy is ready to meet his people and see his life changed furever! He's a young dignified gentleman, who presents as a very loyal and protective fella.  At his core, he's a friendly, social guy who just needs a little time to make proper connections with new faces.  He's approximately 2-3 years old and weighs 62 lbs. He is young and vibrant, always enthusiastic for walks and adventures! Hank isn't just a pretty face, He is a very good listener and knows how to follow commands. He'll fast become your very best friend, and he'll be by your side no matter what. Hank will do great in a home with another dog, but until he is tested we cats, we wouldn't recommend a home with feline friends.  We are still getting updates on this guy and should know more about his behaviour with kids shortly! We're celebrating Hank's chance at a beautiful future and all that's missing is possibly you?   UPDATE FROM FOSTER: Hank is a 60 pound low riding solid potato, he’s a staffy/bulldog mix, around 3 years old! Hank is a smart, lovable, sweet boy who adores his humans. He’s currently being fostered with dogs of all sizes, and is doing wonderful. He’s potty trained, crate trained, and knows basic commands. He will need a slow intro with new people, but once he’s opened up and comfortable he’s an open book and will tell you all about everything. Hank is a talker, with a big sensitive heart. Some may say he’s a gentle giant. The fastest way to Hanks heart is through food, he’s very food motivated! He will need some training on the leash, but he learns quickly and is very receptive to his people. He has a nice recall, and knows how to follow commands.    VETTING: Fully vaccinated Neutered Dewormed SNAP 4Dx negative (Heartworm, Lyme disease, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma) Flea/tick/heartworm prevention microchipped No known medical issues or injuries PLEASE NOTE: Hank is currently in Olympia, WA. There will be a $235 fee for transportation to BC. This will be discussed upon approval.   ##2196646##
