Story
Do you remember the scared, exhausted mama dog who was running the streets for weeks on end in Phoenix while @povertyspets tried to capture her and her male companion? Once they finally were able to do that we were able to find placement for this beautiful mama in Tucson. Soon after arriving, she gave birth to five very healthy and chunky little babies! The babies are now almost a month old and mamma Mia is doing great! These little cuties are learning all about life and the good things from their mama and amazing foster and all their new PWB family! Although these little ones haven't quite started on their vaccines yet, we are looking for individuals who may be interested in adopting them once they reach 10 to 12 weeks of age. At that point they would be eligible to go into our foster to adopt program, where we continue to monitor their progress, make sure they are up to date on vaccines, and make sure they get spayed/neutered. Adoption fees for these lil' nuggets will be $300 which will help offset their vetting and allow us to help save more homeless dogs. If you are interested in fostering to adopt please reach out: Call or Text: 520-289-0549 Email: pawswithoutbordersus@gmail.com Fill out an application online: https://www.pawswithoutborders.org/get-involved.html

Story
Meet Denny, a 2-year-old pit/shepherd mix. Denny was rescued from a rural shelter`s E-list, as they were out of space. He was found with an injured leg, roaming a parking lot. Denny has a big pumpkin head and an even bigger heart. He enjoys sitting outside in the morning, playing with toys, or sitting with his head in your lap for rubbing. Denny is good with dogs of all sizes, but due to his size and playfulness, he may be best with bigger dogs. He takes his cues from other dogs, so a home with another dog would be great. He is okay with cats, but seems pretty scared of them, so a cat-free home is probably best. He has been great with any person he meets. He’s not a huge barker but occasionally barks outside to let you know he is taking care of the house. He hasn’t had any accidents after the first few days and uses his crate to eat meals and rest while I’m out. He walks gently on a leash. He’s about 54lbs but still underweight (definitely not picky with his food). It’s obvious Denny had a rough beginning to life, but he is adorable and deserves the best forever home.

Story
Ajax is a handsome, shy guy who has spent a long time in the shelter waiting for a family of his own. When you aren’t comfortable with people right off the bat, it’s that much harder to convince a family that you’re the one for them. In fact, Ajax often spends much of his time on the back side of his kennel where the public can’t even see him, because it’s quieter and less overwhelming for him there. This long stay resident needs a special family who can see that he’s deserving of a loving home. Ajax has spent time in both a foster home and, briefly, an adoptive home. He was housebroken and would wait by the door to let his people know he needed a bio break and slept near his person at night. He was also reportedly crate trained and was working on being comfortable walking on leash with a Gentle Leader. That home didn’t turn out to be the right fit, so Ajax returned to the shelter where he’s been waiting… and waiting… and… you got it. Waiting. An ideal home for this special guy will be one with people who will be patient as he settles in and who will continue to work with him on training and socialization. He’ll do best in a quiet environment without constant visitor traffic (or one where he has a safe space of his own to relax when people come over). Will he be the snuggliest, cuddliest dog you could ever imagine the first night you bring him home? Nope- and that’s ok!!! Let him be himself and come around in his own time.“When I first met Ajax, I gave him a few treats in his kennel to get to know him. Once out, he is a good boy to walk. As time has passed, he is more comfortable with me. I often walk him to the picnic table in the shade and he enjoys a head massage and pets. He enjoys treats too. We go on different routes and he likes to stop and sniff along the way.”- PACC volunteer`Ajax is a nervous boy, but he allows petting. He`s easy to leash up and overall is a very sweet boy.` – PACC volunteerWhen meeting other dogs in playgroup, Ajax was nervous and preferred to keep to himself. He`d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it`s a good fit. Please ask about how you can help Ajax today!
