Story
We have had him since he was 7 weeks old. Unfortunately we are entering into a season in our lives that we can’t avoid and the whole family is literally splitting up. My husband is staying in Birmingham Al , I am going to Mobile with a family member with our youngest child and my two oldest children are going to Montgomery Al to live with my mother and other family. None of my family is set up to take in a family of 5 and a dog. We have to recoup and get ourselves together and we pray Kong can go to a family who will love him as much as we have. This is a tough decision to make and we’re hoping that someone will at least foster him for a little while until we tie some loose ends. He’s a sweetheart but he does not get along well with other male dogs especially. He’s done great with our children and he’s a human lover for sure . He loves cuddles and he’s extremely affectionate

Story
Hello good morning I am actually reaching out in hopes to find a foster for my fur baby. I have had him since he was 6 weeks and now I’m faced with a very difficult decision. Up until early this year I lived in Birmingham caring for my father and when I returned it was difficult to find someone who would accept his breed so I sent Kong to live with a friend for a while and then she accepted a new career and Kong came back to me. Everything was going fine up until yesterday. My landlord reached out and told me it has come to her attention that I have him and that she wants him gone by Friday. Right now I’m trying to exhaust every option that I possibly can. I know once I surrender him on tomorrow that I will not be able to get him back. My husband and I are willing to pay for his daycare so that he won’t have to be a bother during the day and can and will continue to take care of his food and vet care but we just don’t want to lose him

Story
This gorgeous girl is Melody! Melody is a sweet girl that LOVES to be active and to be outside. Her very favorite toy is a rubber kong that she can safely chew on! She can be a little shy at first, but when she gets comfortable with you she LOVES to get tummy rubs! She likes to "rule the roost" so she will need to be any only dog- no cats and no other dogs. She has been around her pup foster siblings but does not like them. Melody is potty trained and crate trained! If her foster family is gone during the day she is crated and does very well. She is possessive over her food bowl so she prefers to be left alone while eating. Her foster family crates her and walks out of the room while she is eating to make her feel more secure. She’s really just afraid someone is going to take her food from her... Melody will be a great companion to the right family. If your family would be a perfect match for her, please apply! If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adoption-application Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Story
Introducing the most handsome boy, Dave. The beginning of Dave’s life wasn’t the best, but you would never know it as this boy’s smile lights up the room and he is just full of love. 💙🐾 Dave is smitten with every person he meets and is also absolutely fantastic with other dogs and has a wonderful submissive personality. Dave seems to be housetrained and isn’t a destructive boy though he does love romping around with any and all toys. 🐶❤️ Dave adores attention and two and four legged friends and would love a family that includes him on their adventures, whether they be hikes or snuggling up for a Netflix marathon. This handsome boy still gets excited about greeting new people so either a family that is willing to work with him on that or one without toddlers would be best.🫶🏻 This gorgeous, loving boy is ready to live the good life with his forever family and he’s hoping it might be you! 🎉😊 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Story
JJ loves his foster humans, dog friends, and even the cats. He loves to play with toys, swim in the lake/baby pool, and wrestle with his friends. When he's all wore out, he snuggles with his playmates. JJ would love a furrever home with an active family, his own baby pool, and a playful furr sibling. JJ is a perfect medium size dog. He looks bigger than he is in pictures. He is only about 40 pounds. He will make someone a great family pet.

Story
DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES OUT OF MY POWERS I MUST FIND ROCKY A NEW HOME. ROCKY MUST BE REHOMED BY NOVEMBER 16TH OR ELSE I AM GOING TO BE FORCED TO TAKE HIM TO A SHELTER. PLEASE GIVE THIS LOVING BOY A GOOD HOME! Rocky is an amazing dog that I have owned since 4 weeks old. He is currently 7 years old. He is smart and obedient and listens to commands well. He takes a few days to get use to other dogs but once he gets to know them he does well. He has a lot of energy so he needs someone who will give him attention and take him on walks. I have never had him around cats before so I have no clue how he acts around them. He gets along with children great! I am not asking an adoption fee on him but I will be picky on who I allow to adopt him. Message me if you have any questions. Thanks.
