Story
Hi I'm Zoe!! I'm a pretty brindle gal, just about 4-5 years old and a fit 40 pounds. I've had a bit of a rocky start in life, not because I'm a bad girl, but because not everyone is as kind to us fur-kids as they should be. I saw a T-shirt on someone visiting the Ark that pretty well sums me up - it said 'I like dogs more than I like people'. Well, I'm the complete opposite - I love people more than I like dogs!!! Now, don't get me wrong, I do like some dogs, but some I just don't have any patience with, and I prefer women to men most of the time but I do make exceptions! I'm not a gal who wants to live in the past, I just need someone to love me the way I deserve to be loved, focus on the future with me and not the past, and I promise I'll be a love-bug forever!! *The Adoption fee for Zoe is reduced/covered by adoption sponsorship donations When I arrived at the Ark, we played the 'guess what breed I am' game, and the most guesses were that I'm an American Staffy mix, but I know that's just a guess - I know what I am, I'm a Purebred Mix-Breed!! ** Ark Rescue dogs are available for adoption to homes in the Alabama and Tennessee Valley area only. We do require a secure fenced-in yard to adopt our larger dogs.. September 7, 2024, 10:05 am

Intelligent and sweet, poor Molson has survived a rough past. A Walker Hound/Staffie mix, this 2-year-old, 77-pound boy, was found emaciated and beaten up, perhaps left for dead. Despite his horrible experience, Molson is loving without a mean bone in his body. He loves kids and other dogs and gets fixed next week, so he will be all ready to go to the caring home he truly deserves. Come meet Molson and see how terrific he is!

Maxine was brought in from Hwy 75 in Albertville on 8/15/24. Thanks to Dr.Garrett at McCrory Animal Clinic, she has had all of her shots and is now spayed! Maxine is believed to be a bulldog mix between 2-3 years old and weighing approximately 60 pounds. Maxine does well on a leash with minimal pulling. She did well walking through the shelter and even stopped to say hello to some of the others on her way to her new kennel. (we will test her with other dogs in the near future.) Maxine has done well with everyone she has met from the vet to staff at the shelter! Maxine is available for adoption immediately. Euthanasia date: 10/15/24

Story
📢 Meet Pax, the shy guy who’s ready to steal your heart! 💖 Pax may be a big puppy, but he’s one of the most gentle souls you’ll ever meet. He loves everyone and everything, though he might need a few minutes to warm up to new people or dogs. Once he does, he’s all about sharing—whether it’s toys or food, Pax is happy to share with others. Leash training is still a work in progress for Pax, but he’s improving with each walk, thanks to plenty of patience and reassurance. Despite his size, Pax desperately wants to be a lap dog, making him the perfect cuddle buddy for movie marathons or rainy day naps. 🌧️ Pax would thrive in a home with a confident fur sibling to help him build his confidence. He does well with children, though his shy nature means he might take a little time to fully relax. If you’re looking for a gentle giant who’s ready to be your snuggle partner, Pax is waiting to meet you! 🐾 📩 Send us a message on Facebook or call/text at 256-960-1408 to learn more about Pax! Euthanasia date: 10/14/24
