Story
Maverick is almost three years old and can be an extremely sweet boy. We adopted him from Loving Care Cat Rescue with his sister. Sadly, his sister was diagnosed with cancer and passed in 2023. Maverick is house trained, and loves a good place to snuggle, especially a warm lap. When feeling playful, however, he can be aggressive. He has swiped at people when playing and can be very rambunctious. We are looking for a patient, caring home or an experienced pet owner- preferably without children and other pets at this time.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!We are constantly being asked to help find a home for a helpless cat.  Typically it is someone is moving or the owner has died and there are only days to keep it from being tossed on the street or ending up in a kill shelter.PLEASE tell us what you are looking for in your next cat and we will process you application and call you when we have 'a fit'Thank you for caring enough to adopt instead of shop!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!October 14, 2024, 6:08 pm

I was scared and I had no where to go. I had my babies alone under a deck :(  Finally someone saw me and my babies and called 2nd Chance, but unfortunately by then I had lost one of my babies :(  Now my 3 other little ones and me are safe in the arms of 2nd Chance. I'm spayed, housetrained, had my shots and am super sweet. I love kids but I am not fond of dogs. I can tolerate cats but would prefer to be an only pet. I am ready for someone to love me FUREVERVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. Story
Muffin is a grey tiger stripe about 11 pounds and loves Temptations treats and laying in the sun. She was born in the Spring of 2013 so she is almost 12 years old. She was basically rescued from our back yard as a kitten and has lived with us her entire life. I know her age may make it hard to re-home but she is a pretty easy-going cat and I would love to see her find a new loving home as I sadly cannot keep since my living situation has changed.

Story
Pigeon is a a very sweet, playful, cuddly goofball. He loves playing with toys, eating treats, and a good nap. Pigeon is about 2.5 years old, and has been with us for most of his life, as he was found as a stray. This little guy is FULL of personality, and knows some tricks, like 'sit' 'spin' and 'paw'. Unfortunately, Pigeon has caused quite a stir in our home, as he has begun randomly attacking and trying to dominate our senior cats. Due to this, he is no longer able to stay with us, and we have run out of options with him. He probably would be best in a home with no other cats, however, he gets along great with our dogs and often loves playing chase with our younger dog. We have not had any behavioral issues with people or anything else, he is a very confident boy. Pigeon has been around children, teens, and adults of all genders and does great, he is litterbox trained and we have not had any issues with that, but he does like to go potty outside too. Looking for his furever family!!

Story
We adopted Mario in March 2021 from the York SPCA. He was 8 months old then so he will be 5 this summer. He is laid back and calm. He does not need constant attention, but would not be opposed to it either. He is very good with kids as we had a baby right before adopting him. He tolerated her throughout her exploration of the world and never once bit/scratched at her. We are looking to rehome due to costs associated with caring for a pet. We will include any supplies for Mario that we have in the adoption cost (food, litter, toys).
