Story
Lyla is a 13 year old female cat with the sweetest disposition. She loves to cuddle and is very friendly and kind. She is an older cat but is very healthy and acts like she is a much younger cat. She was a declawed kitty when we adopted her so she doesn’t scratch furniture. She gets along well with dogs that are cat friendly, and she has grown up with children in the house and loves them. She would be good with other friendly cats as well. The reason we would like to find her a happy new home is because we have another cat that is behaving very aggressively toward Lyla and I do not want to see her bullied. And for obvious reasons we cannot rehome the aggressive cat, so we think it’s best to find a loving home for Lyla. She would be a loving addition to any home ❤️

Story
My mother gave me Scooter a few years ago and I fell in love. Hes a 3 year old cat with charm. Scooter is super shy, playful, loves the laser, and temptations. A few years ago a family member came over with her kids and it frightened him as a kitten so he does hide when visitors are around but will warm up once he’s comfortable. Hes loveable and likes to lay on your chest and stare in awe. He also shows affection by giving little nibbles at ur hand to continue petting him. I am moving to Charlotte soon and I want him to go to a loving person or family. I really do think he will do best in a quiet home with preferably no kids (unless they are older).

Story
Lucy is a 9 year old shorthair who was born in a barn! She’s very small and can be very shy- it’ll take her some time to warm up to strangers. She is very affectionate and loves to be loved! She prefers a quiet household with consistency- she does not do well with change. Right now she is living with one younger male cat, and has for the last 7 years. They are not bonded, but typically get along. She’s grown up around other dogs, cats, birds, and has been around snakes! None has ever been a problem for her, but they had all been respectful of her :) She does scratch at carpets, and in stressful situations will avoid using the litter box. She does poop outside of the box, typically right in front of it. She is incredibly sweet, playful, and tends being more of a one-person cat.

Story
Squeaks is a beautiful orange tabby male who was born around Jan 2023. He was found with a wound on his tummy which required surgery and brought into a foster home. Squeaks was born outdoors and is shy with new folks. He lives with his foster mom and dad and their two cats. He is devoted to his foster parents. Squeaks follows them around and is a real lap cat. He is playful and loving. He loves to play with the other two cats in the household. He likes toys and would do well with any family who puts in time to gain his trust. Orange cats are thought to be friendlier and more affectionate than other cats. They tend to be snuggly. Some orange tabbies are so affectionate that they are often cat-egorized as “velcro” kitties. **Adoption fee of $140 includes spay/neuter, vet visits, deworming, and shots. ** Adoption Application: mercyrescue.org

Story
Toby needs a happy home! Toby came to me in December as a sick stray cat. He was terrified of people. After months of working with him and feeding him, he eventually became one of the sweetest cats I’ve seen. He enjoys baths and being drenched with the hose on a hot summer day, laps for really long naps, and lots of churros. Toby had stomatitis in his mouth and needed all his teeth removed. He now has his four front teeth. This does NOT hinder him, he just needs water to soften the food. He is also FIV positive but gets along with my cats and is not phased by dogs.
