Spiky is a handsome, sweet, loving, playful, and a bit skittish healthy boy (almost 2 yo). My mother adopted him from the Westchester SPCA in Aug 2023 but she’s leaving the country in mid-April and we need to rehome him ASAP. We don’t want to put him through the trauma of entering the shelter again. Spiky needs an owner/family with a lot of patience and love who will be willing to spend the time to build his trust . He’s pretty skittish around people, yet he always wants to be around them. He is very devoted to my mother, always sits in her TV chair with her and follows her from room to room. Only my mother can pick him up. When around other people he will jump a mile and scamper away very easily. But he always comes back just over an arms distance away. Pretty quickly I gained his trust during my visits — he allows me to pet him. I’m certain with the right owners, Spiky could really blossom. Also he probably needs a less busy, calmer household environment.
