Story
Who says you don’t get second chances in life? That’s certainly not true for this sweet older lady. We don’t know much about her back story, but what we do know is that somehow she found herself alone on the streets of Baltimore. She was taken to Baltimore Animal Control, where everyone there immediately fell in love with her. As stressful as it must have been to lose her home, be kicked out on the street and then wind up at a busy shelter, her wonderful disposition just shined right through. She absolutely adores people and was a well loved pet at one point. She can’t get enough of being petted and receiving belly rubs. She is an easy going ol’ gal and gets along fine with other cats and animals. She’s extremely adaptable. She has perfect litter box skills and manners. She’s not one to climb up curtains or scratch on furniture. Her favorite thing in the world is just to snooze next to her person. She does have a playful side, but in general she’s a very calm girl. Just an all around sweetheart. She will make a new family very happy. Like all Furever Home cats, Uni is FeLV positive. Story
Sweet little Daisy has every reason to distrust people, but like most animals, they are willing to give us a second, and sometimes a fifth, chance. Daisy was abandoned on the streets with her brother when her family moved out and left them behind. A few months later, her brother was attacked and killed by a dog. Luckily for her, a caring neighbor began looking out for her and leaving food. As time passed, it became apparent that little Daisy was just not doing well as an outside cat. Her fur lost it’s shine and Daisy began to get sick. Again the nice neighbors took her in, but unfortunately for her, by then she had contracted FeLV so the neighbors couldn’t keep her. Because there are not nearly enough FeLV rescues, many have a long waitlist. The neighbors were concerned Daisy wouldn’t survive outside in the hot summer so they expanded their search until they found us. The problem was that we were a 16 hour drive away! But the nice neighbors were willing to make that sacrifice for Daisy. And we very quickly understood why. Daisy is so worth it!!!! She is the most lovable little girl! She loves to snuggle with her people whenever she can, but she’s not overly Velcro either. She loves to play with her toys as well, but she’s also ok on her own through the day. She has the most adorable little chirp and will actually have an entire conversation with you, although we admit, sometimes it’s hard to understand what she’s saying. She also has impeccable litter habits and will actually wipe her little paws off before walking away from the litter box. In summary, Daisy is perfect! Like all our cats, Daisy is FeLV positive. Story
Meet Square! Square is a large boy, but not obese. He needs the bigger frame to carry around all the love. And he has the most smoochable little pink nose! He’s a confident, curious boy who likes to snuggle but isn’t overwhelming about it. He’s a gentle giant. He’s obviously had a tough life because he does shrink away if you come at his face too quickly, but once he trusts you, he loves to be stroked and petted. At four years old, he’s that perfect age when he still has a playful side, but he also enjoys a good nap. He has perfect kitty litter etiquette and doesn’t scratch up furniture. He does well alone or with other cats. He’s perfect for a new cat owner since he’s just so easy to have around. He’s extremely adaptable and will do well in most households as long as there is at least one window that allows a sunbeam to come through. Like all Furever Home cats, Square is FeLV positive. Therefor he can not live in a house hold with a FeLV negative cat. If you’re not familiar with FeLV, feel free to reach out to us for more info. Story
Meet Meow Meow! Ok, yeah, we aren’t a huge fan of the name either, but it completely fits him! This four year old boy has SOOOO much personality crammed into his body! Although he doesn’t have the markings of a Bengal cat, we’re convinced he has some genetic components. Why? Well, he’s got the long, lanky athletic build and he LOVES to talk. This boy will run circles around any teenager on the planet! He starts a conversation and he will just go on and on and on…. So he’s either part Bengal or he’s a reincarnated opera singer. It can really go either way. Meow Meow is a confident, friendly cat who enjoys playing as much as he enjoys a good nap. He’s the perfect age when he has spurts of energy and will do zoomies around the house for no reason, yet he can be calm and chill as well. He has perfect litter box skills. He’d do well with other cats (as long as they are FeLV +) or he’d be fine as an only cat. He’s also comfortable around calm, cat safe dogs. Like all Furever Home cats, Meow Meow is FeLV positive. Therefor he can not live in a house hold with a FeLV negative cat. If you’re not familiar with FeLV, feel free to reach out to us for more info. Story
There is not shortage of survival stories in rescue, but Reese is an absolute miracle. We don’t know how his story started, but Reese was found during the high heat of summer in Texas. Struggling would be an understatement. His skin was raw and irritated, his breathing was labored, he could barely see, and he could hardly move. After ending up with an amazing rescue, Reese was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection, a horrible case of mange, malnourishment, dehydration and entropion issues (his eyelids scraped against his eyeballs). But worst of all, he had a 22 caliber bullet lodged near his spine. But the rescue saw immediately how incredible this boy was and put nine months of love and patience into his rehab. His skin was treated, he received surgery on his eyelid and the bullet was removed. He received physical therapy and over time regained almost nearly full motion. Reese relished being cared for and is a complete love bug. Understandably, he’s shy with strangers at first, but warms up quickly and loves pets and scratches. Once Reese had recovered enough from all the trauma, he was diagnosed with FeLV so was transferred to Furever Home in Maryland. He continues to improve and is the sweetest little man ever. Now he’s ready for his very own family so he can live the rest of his life full of safety and love. Like all our cats, Reese is FeLV positive. Therefore he can only be placed as an only cat or with other cats that are FeLV positive. Story
I got Patchy, or rather his nickname: Itty Bitty, when he was only a few months old from my Grandparents. He is going to be five years old this coming December. He was born with a deflated eye and had to get surgery to remove and close it up, he also got his kitten shots at the same time. He’s a super sweet, purrmachine who loves attention, pets and to be brushed. We love him dearly, but with costs rising more and more and having one income we can’t ensure that we’ll be able to give him the things he needs and deserves anymore. We are looking for a home that will welcome him with love and warmth.
