Story
Angel is a sweet cat, she is very affectionate and loves to be pet. Her favorite things are laser pointers, high places, and seeing new places. She was abandoned by her first owner that had her for 5 years. Her current owner took her in without any knowledge of her needs and Angel is not a good fit with their other cat. She does best in quiet and calm homes. She just needs someone who will support her and have time to spend.

Name: Little ChunkyBreed: DSHDOB: 3/30/2024Good with kids: YESGood with dogs: YESGood with cats: YESFoster location: Pingree Grove, IL Adoption fee: $200 a kitten or $350 for a pair of kittens  Fun Bio: These babes will be ready for adoption when they are 8-10 weeks old. So we have some time, but follow their story! Get an application in, and be patient OR apply for one of our already kittens or cats! If interested in a pet from us please fill out the adoption application that is located on our website.  We process applications in the order in which they are received.  We will likely not respond to interest emails regarding puppies and/or kittens, we get so many "interest" emails that we simply do not have the time to respond to each one.  We always recommend playtime, positive reinforcement training and a regular schedule for feeding times when bringing a new cat/kitten into your home. Adjustment takes time for both you and your new family member, so remember to be patient and enjoy this new and exciting time!Included in the adoption fee are age appropriate vaccinations, FeLV/FIV testing, deworming, spay or neuter surgery, and microchip. Anti-Declawing Policy:All cats and kittens will have a no declaw policy in their adoption contract with us!  Declawing is a series of bone amputations.  Declawing is more accurately described by the term de-knuckling and is not merely the removal of the claws, as the term “declawing” implies.  In humans, fingernails grow from the skin, but in animals that hunt prey, the claws grow from the bone; therefore, the last bone is amputates so the claw cannot re-grow.  Declawing is one of the most painful, routinely performed procedures in all of veterinary medicine.  Each toe of the cat is amputated at the first joint.  Declawing a cat is equivalent in a person to amputating the entire first knuckle of every finger.  Declawing is done strictly for the benefit of the owner.  There are NO benefits to the cat and NO good reasons to declaw. Declawing can lead to behavior changes.  A declawed cat has no way to defend itself and may resort to biting more often.  Due to pain, they may stop using the litterbox.  There are humane alternatives to declawing.  Cats can be trained to use scratching posts.  They should have their nails trimmed regularly.  There is double sided sticky tape that can be put on furniture to deter a cat from scratching there.  There are also nail caps called Soft Paws that are glued onto a cat's naile cat’s nails without harm. ##2079831##

Story
Little Miss, age 12, has been our beloved cat since she was a kitten. But with another child born into our family, we are unable to provide her the love and attention she deserves. Little Miss, although shy at first, is quite the cuddler! She loves nothing more than jumping up with you and soaking up all the pets and cuddles. She is very sweet! She is relatively low maintenance, (besides the occasional hairball) and is in overall great health. She does have some arthritis in her left hip, but it has not kept her from moving around as normal. She is up to date on all her shots.

Story
Are you ready to open your heart to an extra special feline friend? Look no further than Max, a 3.5-year-old male cat with a heart of gold and a unique condition: moderate cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). Cerebellar hypoplasia (CH) is a neurological condition where the cerebellum, the part of the brain responsible for coordination and balance, is underdeveloped. This underdevelopment can lead to symptoms such as tremors, uncoordinated movements, and difficulty with balance and spatial awareness. Cats with moderate cerebellar hypoplasia can still lead happy and fulfilling lives, especially in homes where they receive understanding and supportive care. Despite his condition, Max is a complete love bug who adores snuggling up right beside you and purring contentedly. While he may not be the rough-and-tumble type, he's definitely up for some gentle playtime, especially if it involves receiving pets and cuddles. His CH may somewhat limit him, but he's far from letting it hold him back. He's a pro at using the litter box and has no trouble enjoying his meals. Plus, he's quite adept at getting around, although he does need to avoid stairs and any over-enthusiastic dogs who might try to chase him. This observant and gentle soul is fantastic with kids and would likely do well with other calm animals who understand his needs. Max is truly the master of the love flop, ready to give you all the affection his big heart holds. Reach out to us today to learn more about welcoming Max into your loving home! For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. I hope to meet you soon! Our cats and kittens go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
