Story

Maggie was a skeletal half-feral kitty at my sister’s begging for food. Unfortunately, she had digestive problems, threw up everything she ate; I didn’t realize until I brought her home; was why she was so skinny. 6 years later, she takes prescription dry food, a tad overweight & a healthy, sweet, indoor kitty. She doesn’t like being picked up so much but instead will sit next to you and rub against you. She’s very well mannered. If she scratches, put a post there & she gets it. Never a problem except vet visits, but what kitty likes them? Give her high places she feels safe, she’ll give you love, a low maintenance independent kitty. A week to trust you, but she’ll come purring every night and kiss your fingers in bed. I’m leaving the country and won’t stay in one place. She doesn’t do well confined, and I can’t travel with her. It breaks my heart, but she needs stability. Mature responsible home would be best. I’d help with prescription-food costs.

Max is an 8 year old cat. He is the third pet we have adopted from Pet Alliance. We have never surrendered any of our pets and although it pains our family to rehome him, we believe he will get the love and attention he deserves in a more relaxed setting. Max has front paws that are declawed and doesn't mind dogs for the most part. He is solitary and tends to be alone hiding in my closet during the day and will come out occasionally to hang out in the office or stare out of the window. We feel he would be better suited for a couple or single person in a quiet home. All shots are up to date and we are happy to provide records as well as remaining food, beds, litter, and toys for his new home. Feel free to contact me for any other questions or concerns.

I'm a roly-poly ball of love, the gentle giant, 17 pounds of sweet furryness. My full name is Dorothy Parker, but they call me Dodi. Born 4 years ago on the back porch with my siblings, we were taken inside at 7 weeks old, on the night the coyotes came roaming. My people love me, but there are thirty-five cats at Black Cat Cottage, way too many for a smallish house. They're choosing to list me for adoption because I get picked on by my two brothers. And, I'm the sort of girl who'll be happy and do well wherever I'm given cuddles and kisses. I won't jump on your counters or tables, but you will find me snuggled on your bed, or lying on my back to tan my beautiful belly under the ceiling light. I also like to sleep on shoes, so if you can't find yours, just lift my belly. Feather toys and ball toys are my favorites. They say I might be magical ... being a black cat born on Friday the 13th...but one thing's for sure—I'll cast a spell on your heart!

Call me Skimbles. I'm a one-year-old funny guy who loves to be pet. I'm also super smart. I have many hobbies. I like to hunt felt mice, play with feathers on sticks, attack lizards on the window, and chase little plastic balls with bells. I'm working on learning how to cook fish, as you can see in my photo. Give me a window hammock and I'll call it "the good life." But if you want to see my skills as a ballet dancer, just whip out some "Temptations" treats. My mom was being fostered here, and no one knew she was pregnant. I was found, at only a few days old, while the human was sweeping under the bed. Everyone was very surprised. I'm a single kitten, no littermates, which is probably why mom wasn't visibly pregnant. I grew up here at Black Cat Cottage with lots of other kitties and a couple of humans. The only time I've been out of the house was when I was taken to be neutered—I'm definitely an indoor-only cat. If you're looking for love, affection, and entertainment, I'm your guy.

Hi! I am Figaro, I was found at Family Dollar, guess why I chose to be a stray there. You guessed it! I want to be in a family, to give and get love is only my biggest dream. I'm tiny but I have big features like my eyes and of course, my heart to fill with love. I've had all of my first year shots and have been neutered- this is included in my adoption fee. You will just have to take me to get established at my new vet within 30 days of adopting me. If you are interested in meeting me, please complete an adoption application. Upon pre-approval, someone will reach out to set up a time for you to come meet me! In addition to all first-year shots and my neuter, I have a registered microchip and a full set of medical records. Since kittens do best with having playmates and someone to cuddle with when our people aren't around, I will have to go to a home with other cats or kittens or even a dog (who likes cats of course).
