Story
Rehoming Two Very Affectionate Cats I am faced with the difficult decision of finding a new home for my two sweetheart cats. They are two years old and from the same litter. Healthy, neutered, and up-to-date on vaccines. Due to financial circumstances, I am moving in with my family, where there is a dog that is aggressive towards cats. To ensure their safety and well-being, I am seeking a kind, safe, and loving home where they can continue to thrive together. Please see the attached photos. If you are interested in providing a forever home for Moose and Bao, or if you know of someone who might be, please reach out to me at the email provided. Your kindness and assistance in spreading the word are greatly appreciated. Gratefully, Isabel

Story
Boots is an incredibly loving, high-energy boy. This spirited guy was living on the streets of Baltimore for his first few months of life before I rescued him. From the outset, he was the sweetest - and most playful - cat I've met. In the over two years I've had him, he's never hissed at me, and loves to sleep under a blanket by my feet - or on them. He's spent a lot of time with a couple golden retrievers, who are his best friends, so he typically can be good with dogs (or get accustomed to them). Boots has a lot of energy and loves being around people; he should go to a home with someone who can play with him and keep him entertained.

Story
Are you an introvert? Love reading books or watching a movie with a cuddle buddy on your lap? If so, this is your guy! Sassafras Swirl is an introvert too. He arrived at my door a little over a year ago. He was emaciated and wasn't going to make it. I started feeding him, fell in love with him, and brought him inside. He was clearly a former housecat. Sassafras had a PU (perineal urethrostomy) surgery in December. That, along with a prescription diet and being separated from my other cats, seems to have fully resolved his FLUTD (feline lower urinary tract disease) issues. I have 3 cats and he is bullied by one of them. I've "tried it all" and there is no resolving it. For his health, I keep him separated, but it breaks my heart. He would love a home of his own with no other pets or kids. He has made huge strides in the past year! He's a shy, low energy guy, with anxiety who would love a pet parent who can relate, and give him time and space to come out of his shell even more.

Story
EJ was a stray cat living outside of an office building for the last year or two. She was captured and brought in only a few weeks ago. She is a huge cuddler, has no problem with pets on her head, belly, tail, back, etc! She's an absolute star. She's shown no tendency to escape, no destructive behaviors, and had been completely calm around other animals. She can be shy but quickly opens up when she knows you just want to love her. :) She took a nail trim with no issues as well. Truly a wonderful kitty. She has been taken to a vet and is fixed and now has her rabies and distemper shots. She did not have a chip. She tested positive for FIV (essentially feline HIV) which unfortunately means she must be strictly indoor only and should be the only other cat in the household. However she is otherwise in great health and should live a long and normal kitty life despite this diagnosis.

Story
Matilda is a very sweet old lady who ultimately loves people and cuddles and really thrives in an environment where someone is home a lot. I unfortunately, have had a very big life switch where I cannot be home as often as before. She is freshly 18 so she doesn’t play or scratch or bite or jump too high. She may occasionally follow a laser pointer, but mainly appreciates long naps with you by her side. She definitely will meow to let her presence known, but like I said the sweet girl mainly just wants company. When I adopted her at 14 she she had been in foster care for almost a year due to her old age, but it was hard not to fall in love with this beautiful sweet girl. She does have kidney disease and hyperthyroidism which can be managed with regular vet visits! So ideally someone who can take her to the vet as she needs it (every 2-3 months or so).

Story
Hi, Gatita is from a litter of 4 kittens that were born in April of the last year. Her mom is a cat we adopted a year ago and we didn't know she was pregnant. Two of them were adopted when they were little but the other two were waiting for a new family to adopt them but didn’t happen. We are in a bit of a hurry to find them a new home because we already have two cats and a large breed dog at home. It is impossible for us to cover the vet fees and to spray them, these two siblings who are male and female need a forever home who love them and take care of them. They will thank you with unconditional love and lots of affection.

Story
Leyla's Personality Beauty and brains, sweet and just a little bit sassy. This little charmer, whose nickname is "Miss Bean," will win you over in no time. Leyla loves hanging out with her foster parents and is always close. She likes to lay next to you on the couch - just provide a nice, soft fleece blanket. Leyla is super friendly and loves, loves, loves being brushed. She enjoys a gentle routine and rewards you with soft purrs and gentle head butts. Leyla came into SPCA's care pregnant - delivering six healthy kittens two days later. Once her kittens were weaned and adopted, Leyla became more playful as she learned to be a kitten again! Leyla goes nuts over a catnip-filled pillow. She sometimes gets the zoomies and chases just about anything that moves. Miss Bean won't wake you up for breakfast in the morning, but waits patiently by your side until you pet her, then she starts the day with the loudest purr. She loves to sleep on a soft blanket on the bed at night and occasionally chases your toes under the covers. Her favorite things are catnip toys, getting brushed and showing off her trick sitting on command for treats. If Leyla can’t find you, she lets out a little meow, and comes running when you call. She loves people, and is not shy at all. She is a perfect little companion. What Type of Home Leyla Needs This sweet, sassy girl needs a home where people are around for her to hang out with. She is not demanding, but likes to be near people. Leyla likes to be in charge of her territory and needs to be the only pet - no other cats or dogs. When Leyla is unsettled or anxious about new things, she can get a little over-stimulated and nip your hands - so no young children now or in the future. An older, cat-savvy child who has lived with cats before might be ok (over about 12 years of age). This behavior has subsided in her foster home now that she has settled in. Where Leyla Came From Leyla was rescued from outdoors by a kind man who found her abandoned in a park shortly before giving birth to six healthy kittens (all adopted). She was such a sweet, nurturing mama. Now its time for Leyla to have a home of her own.PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA.
