Story
Mint was trapped outside with his siblings and made some socialization progress in foster care. Mint is taking his own pace in making friends with us but with the help of his kitty friends he has started to become more comfortable and curious! With continued socialization, we know Mint could blossom into a spoiled pet. We best believe Mint would do best in a home with no children and would have to have a feline companion(s) to show him the ropes. Mint is a young adult, neutered, UTD on vaccinations, FIV/FELV NEGATIVE and microchipped. If you are interested in Mint, please fill out a feline adoption application at https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=meridenhumanesociety&method=online_form_html&formid=28

Story
Here’s Herbie, my beautiful, smart 3 year old cat. I adopted him two and a half years ago from a shelter in New Fairfield. He loves to snuggle. He and I have spent lots of time together with him on my chest or on my legs, purring away. He waits for me at the door when I go out. Herbie loves food and I have been able to teach him a couple of tricks using the clicker method and rewarding him with treats. He needs lots of attention. He likes to play; for example, to chase down plastic spring-y toys. But doesn’t like anyone to touch his feet and he hates being in the car. Although most of the time he is a loving, lovable pet, Herbie bites, which is why I’m sadly giving him up.

Peek a boo! Who's that? It's Emmett! Emmett is a shy boy who has not been a fan of shelter life. He's getting braver every day but is still very unsure of people. Emmet is three years old and would do best in a home with another cat to help him adjust and come out of his shell. Story
Daisy Mae is a cautious cat who needs time to adjust and settle into her surroundings. Now that she's comfortable at the shelter, she occasionally seeks out head scratches, and will rub against staff members' legs - but beware - affection is at her discretion and it's wise to respect her boundaries. A patient and quiet home is needed for this regal girl, and Daisy would appreciate being the only animal in the house. Take a peak, who's that there? Why, it's Terrance! Don't let his grumpy face fool you, this guy is sweet as can be. He enjoys human affection, and will rub his face all over your hands, happy to let himself be pet. And when it's meal time? Oh he's right there waiting! Terrance about 6 years old and is a very chill cat, and spends most of his time napping the day away in his favorite bed. He would love a home where he can warm up to things at his own pace, and find himself a nice sunny window to watch the day go by. He has been neutered and is up to date with his vaccines. Terrance is FIV+, and seems to be doing well. If his gentle yet grumpy face speaks to you, apply for Terrance today!
