Theo was emaciated, scared and spent two months in the shelter where he became a volunteer favorite because of his sweet nature and handsome looks. Theo loves to play with tennis balls and enjoys the company of other dogs. He was recently diagnosed with hip dysplasia and is on weekly injections to help ease the pain. Theo needs to take it easy when he is playing, and walks should be not very long. Theo is a lover of sunbathing on his foster mom's patio. So, as amazing as he is (and he truly is) Davey still needs work on some training to learn to not get overly excited when seeing new dogs and alarm barking at strange noises. His foster home is working with a behaviorist and Davey has made amazingly fast progress! We expect him to live up to his full potential. This 45 lb bundle of sillies is searching for an active household to enjoy running, hiking, and agility with and come home to quiet snuggles on the couch. Davey's favorite toy is every toy but especially the thesaurus. He is intelligent, inquisitive, curious, adventurous, brilliant, agile, spry, nimble, fascinated, eager, enthusiastic, voracious for knowledge (and treats!) Davey loves any and all treats and with his love of playing, hiking, and agility he needs all the snacks. When we say Davey is smart, you wonder, how smart is he?!? Well he isn't a rocket scientist but he learns just about anything! He knows Sit, Stay, Paw, Other Paw, Down, Wait, Touch, Up, Off and is crate trained and bell-trained for potty time. Davey needs a family to stimulate his exceptional little brain. Like a genius kid who will act up if they are bored in school; Davey will always find a way to entertain himself. Rosemary (Rosie) has a heart bigger than her head – an impressive feat for a blocky-headed dog. She leans her whole body into cuddles and will bring her toys right to your hand, wiggling in excitement to play with you. She can also read your energy and knows when to self-entertain if you’re not in the mood to play. She is moderate energy – she loves to run and play, but also tires out quickly, so no need to worry about multiple-hour walks. As long as she can get her energy out, Rosie would likely be fine with kids who are old enough to respect her boundaries and not get knocked over by zoomies. She is fully potty trained, and tolerates her crate but is left free-roaming at her foster home with no issues. Despite being a sweet and loving dog, the world can be a scary place for Rosie – full of sudden movements and unfamiliar places. People are her anchor – from friendly strangers she happily greets at a bar to the full trust she builds with her humans, everything seems a little bit better when she has people to show her she’s safe. The biggest part of keeping Rosie safe is regulating her interactions with other dogs. She has had several negative altercations with dogs in the past, and her continuing fear of dogs manifests itself as reactivity. She is muzzle trained for her own safety, and needs someone who can handle how hard a 50lb dog can pull on walks and help her keep her distance from other dogs who may be out. Because of this fear, Rosie would be easiest as an only pet. However, she has happily lived with another dog in the past, and with lots of time, commitment, and patience, she could potentially be integrated with another dog in the future. The biggest factor would be humans who respect and enforce her boundaries and are committed to setting her up for success. Rosie has not been tested with cats or other smaller animals, but would likely have similar needs – slow integration, trust that her boundaries will be respected, and the ability for both her and the other animal to get space from each other if needed. Her perfect home would include: -Slow, leisurely strolls (no long distance hikes here!) -Her being your only dog, and preferably no cats -Comfy bed -Older kids would be okay -Lots of love and patience And one more thing, finding someone who has no issue loving a BLIND dog!! She has adjusted very well to being blind and doesn't let it slow her down. Being blind does come with some differences compared to owning a fully sighted dog: -lots of noise can overwhelm her -she doesn't enjoy dog on dog interactions so these need to be avoided (meaning, she doesn't want to go to a bunch of dog-friendly places and socialize) -you have to talk alot to her and make silly noises so she knows where you are -she needs a consistent daily routine, preferably with a family who is home most of the time. Aggie has also had two surgeries this past year to help with breathing issues. Piper is a sweetheart, she loves to play with her jolly ball, stretch her legs, and get lots of belly rubs. Unfortunately, she's had a bit of a rough go of it. After not getting along with another dog in her first home, she ended up being fostered within our family. Piper has spent a lot of time kenneled in the past few years due to her not being okay with dogs and having a strong prey drive. She's been with us since October, and while we still have to crate and rotate, she has come into her own by being able to exercise in our large 2-acre fence and interacting with us regularly. She's the greatest little pup. We love her and want to see her in the right home where she can live out the rest of her life worry-free. If we didn't have other dogs, we would keep her in an instant! Piper is housebroken, crate trained (currently in a Ruff Land Kennel), and knows basic obedience as well as can show you a trick or two! She’s a quick learner and is eager to please. She’s happy running around in her yard for hours playing fetch or cuddling with her humans. Piper would do best in an experienced dog home with a fenced-in yard but is fine on a leash. She does pull slightly but I have no doubts this can be worked on. She doesn't lunge at other dogs while you're walking, she just doesn't like dogs in her face. She prefers her humans to be older kids (12 plus or dog savvy) and adults. Discounted access to Reilly's 2 Acre Fully Fenced Play Space with Wooded Paths (sniff spot) located in Waterford is included with Piper’s adoption."

Zeke is as sweet as they come, he adores his canine brothers and sister and doesn’t seem to mind the feline roommates either. In fact on more than one occasion foster mom has caught Zeke snuggled up sleeping with a kitty!! Zeke is deaf which makes him special needs, but don’t tell him that! Zeke doesn’t know he’s any different than any other dog. He loves all of the normal things dogs love, he is a huge fan of walks, car rides, toys, bones and especially foster mom’s homemade treats! Zeke would require an experienced special needs owner due to his disability, and a fenced in yard. Zeke likes to always be part of the action, he prefers to be included in whatever the day may hold. Zeke is full of energy and he would love a canine sibling to help him wear off all of this energy. He is crate trained and mostly house trained (once in a great while he does forget, but he is a smart boy and continuing to learn daily). He adores humans of all sizes but might do best with children 10 and up only due to his size and energetic nature. Zeke is a tad over a year old and aprox 70lbs.

What an adorable little firecracker !! FULL of personality and afraid of nothing! She is confident, curious, LOVES the water and her baby pool. Often times she's the only one willing to get in. OOFIE lives to be with other dogs and especially adores her humans. She is literally always happy! You cannot rain on her parade! She is kennel trained and almost house trained! She is a joy to have as part of our foster family. LAMAREY is with me in my home in Memphis, Tn. Once adopted , she will travel via Rescue Vet Transport to her new forever family. Once an application has been submitted and approved , I would be happy to speak with you and tell you all of the wonderful things about her ! You will find our volunteer team to be very responsive so please refrain from submitting an application until you are ready to welcome a new forever family member. Transport runs each weekend, leaving Memphis Tennessee Friday morning around 6 AM at which time they start a group chat with the two drivers and all the adopters who have a A Pet on board.
