Story
Meet Carmy! Age: Adult Weight: 50 pounds Housetrained: yes Crate trained: I don't do well in crates and the stress of being in one makes my tummy upset. Good with: Dogs, cats, kids (I love the kiddos!) Special needs: I have separation anxiety, so I take meds to help me feel better I'm a super happy and energetic boy and I love my humans so much! My favorite thing ever is to be outside with you – whether we are going for a walk around the neighborhood, a hike in the woods, or playing fetch in the yard. An active forever family would be so much fun! I like to play tug of war, chew on bones, solve brain games, and shake my favorite stuffies. I am super smart (maybe a little too smart sometimes), so I love to learn new tricks for treat rewards. I'd enjoy having other furry friends in my forever home, so I don’t get too lonely when you are gone. I love to wrestle and chase my dog friends and I like to cuddle with my cat friends (if they let me).    Since I have separation anxiety, I'll need my medication and an understanding family that is willing to work with me as I get used to their routine. In my foster home, I am now comfortable being home by myself for up to 8 hours during the daytime, but it took me several weeks to work up to that much time alone without being stressed.   I'm a pretty quiet dude, but I do bark and jump up when I get really excited – mostly when we are about to go outside for a walk. I’ve been working on my listening skills when I’m excited or distracted and I am getting better! Treats help :) I’m a big cuddler, but, fair warning, I will take up all your personal space on the couch or bed because I like to snuggle close. I can’t wait to find a forever family that is willing learn and grow with me. I promise to pay you back with lots of love and kisses! Carmy is fostered in the Madison, WI area. Story
Meet Charlotte! Age: Adult Weight: 48 pounds Breed: bulldog/pit mix (DNA test pending) Good with: Excellent with cats and dogs, does not live with children House/crate trained: yes Special needs: home with limited stairs, currently on medication that will need to continue for foreseeable future. Currently in physical therapy. Foster location: Menomonee Falls Charlotte is a sweet, easygoing pup who is happy to be leaving her past behind and enjoying the good life now that’s she’s become an Albert’s dog! Charlotte is dog and cat friendly and is enjoying all of the people she has met. She initially gets excited/jumpy when meeting groups of people but is working on settling quickly, she just loves to visit with people! She is house and crate trained and enjoys going on walks where she can show off her leash skills. Charlotte loves snoozing in warm spots and will continue to move throughout the day to ensure she’s napping in warm sunlight, such a cozy girl! Charlotte initially came into Albert’s care with skin issues/allergies and a bum leg. She has responded well to allergy meds as we identify the source of her allergies. She is currently taking pain meds to ease her leg pain and has recently started physical therapy. It is not yet determined what the next steps are for her leg but Albert’s continues to investigate what’s best for Charlotte and she’s taking her meds and PT like a champ. Charlotte is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. Shes calm and chill in most environments. She’s such a friendly and happy pup with so much love to give. She loves all the people she meets and loves going on adventure. She’s great in the car and is happy to ride shotgun. Is she the friendly, happy buddy that you’ve been looking for? Story
Meet Chariot! Age: Puppy Weight: 14lbs (estimated to be 25-30lbs when grown) Breed: Pittie Mix Good with kids/cats/dogs: lives with dogs and cats (will occasionally chase), kid friendly too House/crate trained: She is able to use the bathroom independently however is not housebroken and wears diapers and hangs out on washable puppy pads on her own. Special needs: Chariot was born with scoliosis and has paralyzed back legs. She has a wheel chair she gets along great in and a drag bag to flop around the house. Chariot was born with a congenital heart defect that her cardiologist does not believe is affecting her. She may require a recheck in a year just to be thorough. Where foster is located: Milwaukee WI Chariot is a friendly and spunky pup who is still just a happy puppy. She is both dog and cat friendly, but will occasionally try to chase the cats in her foster home. She LOVES all the people she has met (all ages) and loves to play just as hard as she naps. She loves all the attention, fuzzy beds and toys that she can find and is looking to be just as spoiled in her forever home. While Chariot is a sweet puppy, she is overcoming some physical challenges. She suffers from scoliosis and this causes her to require a wheelchair (provided to her forever family) or use a drag bag. She is still able to get around and play. Disability experience is not required but dedication is. Her forever family is not only comitting to her cuteness, but also her disability. She will require ongoing care and potentional expenses as she grows. Her family will be so lucky to get to enjoy such a sweet and friendly pup, could you be that family? Story
Meet Pickles! Age: Senior Weight: 60 lbs Good with: dogs and kids (not cat tested) House trained: yes Crate trained: yes Fostered in: Lake Geneva, WI Special needs: Glucosamine supplement, limited activity while she recovers from HW treatment. Are you looking for a snuggle buddy to keep you warm this winter (and going forward)? Miss Pickles may be the gal for you! Also known by her foster family as “Mama Dilly”, Miss Pickles is a 60 pound Pit Bull mix who is the sweetest, most gentle lovebug you could imagine! Her life got off to a rough start down in Tennessee; she was kept outside on a chain in a small, wooden shack. While there, she sustained some damage to her left eye and developed a large mammary tumor. The kind folks at Animal Control took her into their care, and both her bum eye and tumor were removed. Unfortunately the tumor was deemed to be a moderate to higher grade mast cell tumor. While metastasization in the future is a possibility, she currently is not experiencing any symptoms and is looking forward to living the rest of her life to its fullest! She recently completed heartworm treatment, so she needs to avoid rigorous activity for the next couple of months. After that, she will be ready for some exercise as she could use to lose a few pounds! She has some stiffness in her back legs and takes a glucosamine supplement to help; but that may improve on its own after a bit of weight loss. This sweet girl gets along with dogs of all sizes. Cats are currently unknown. She loves chewing on bones (and sometimes on shoes and blankets!), and her most favorite thing is snuggling on the couch. She is potty trained and never has accidents in the house. She is fine with being crated and sleeps perfectly through the night. If you give this lovely gal a second chance at life, you will not regret it - she will pay you back in love and snuggles! Story
Hi I`m Joey, I`m sure Jesse talked about me already, but I`m the handsome one! I was a stray with 3 other dogs in Whitewater and then we came to Lakeland. I`m a bigger boy who does walk pretty well on a leash and more or less mind my own business. I`d prefer a home without other dogs so I can soak up all the attention myself.
