Hello I'm Thor! I may have the name of a superhero but deep down I just want to be loved. Since I lost my family Ive had a tough time. I lost my home after my original family went through an unforeseen tragedy and I was left without food or water for a week. I was very depressed for a long time and lived in a kennel for a while. I’ve been in and out of a couple foster homes but I haven't found my forever home yet. I know the right one is out there! I have been moved around a few times so I get really anxious in new homes. I need someone who is patient and is willing to give me a chance. I have a big heart and lots of love to share. My favorite hobbies? I like rolling in the grass, riding in the car, walks, yup-walks and more walks along with snuggling. It is my favorite “downtime” thing to do. Oh and I love to keep watch out the window. If you are busy, I am happy just to be around and watch, or nap, while you do human things. I have had some obedience work while living with fosters. I’ve learned to be crated. I really don't like it but a tasty treat will get me inside and once I'm in its naptime. I walk like a gentleman on the leash, but I do get excited seeing other dogs. I can be a little stubborn at times but I do well with firm but gentle verbal correction. What am I looking for in a home? I would prefer to be an only dog, so I can have all the attention. I get along with a lot of other dogs but not every dog. I have instantly loved every human female I have ever met, but not all men. I do have some favorite men in my life though. I just need to go slow with new guys. Trust is really important to me. My biggest need is to have a the security of a home and humans that give me love and attention. No adoption event or special fee weekend necessary!*** Amill- adult (5 to 8 year old) neutered male pit mix, 65 pounds, house trained, crate trained, good with dogs, not good with cats, good with kids, living in a foster home and has perfect house manners, really sweet affectionate dog. Amill has been living in a foster home for a couple months and he has shown what an awesome dog he is. This boy is house trained, crate trained, has great house manners (other than barking at animals outside the window) and according to his foster mom, has been a pleasure to have in her home. He loves car rides and is super friendly with everyone he meets. He’s been great with the other dogs in the home and has shown no issues with toys and food with the other dogs or with the humans in the home. He is a velcro dog who is super affectionate. He is a pretty chill guy who doesn’t require much exercise, so he would be a great dog for a couch potato. He loves to cuddle on the couch with you while you watch tv. He does get bursts of energy where he runs around the house and he does like an occasional game of tug of war. Amill likes taking walks although he can be quite leash reactive when he sees other dogs, which is something his future family will need to be willing to work on. Other than his leash issues, he really is a perfect dog. Amill has the most beautiful brindle coat and the softest fur! Amill had several lumps removed recently that came back as mast cell tumors. After consulting with an oncologist, we were assured these were low grade tumors and they should cause no further issues. It it common for mct to reoccur, so his future family should be willing and financially able to deal with this if need be. Amill is an awesome boy and would make an excellent addition to almost any family. Foster Update: This sweet, tolerant girl has had a rough four years of life. She came to us with severe mange, allergies and malnutrition. The mange has been treated, she has gained 40lbs. and has been started on immunotherapy treatments, which she will need to remain on for life. She has been in foster for the past year while we worked on getting her stable. Lana has rapidly become part of her foster family and two resident dogs. She is not high energy. She loves to go for short walks and rides in the car. She is not necessarily cuddly, but she wants to be wherever you are and likes the occasional belly rub. Lana is house trained. Although in foster she has had limited contact with children, we think she would love the attention she would get from a house full of kids. Lana would be great with non-aggressive dogs. Future care would have to include continued immunotherapy for life. We would recommend she be followed by a vet that specializes in allergies. ***LONG TIMER SPECIAL ELIGIBLE! We’ve been told Lana needs constant attention to prevent her from scratching but hopefully immunotherapy will help this. Lana is otherwise a sweet sweet affectionate gal who has don’t nothing more than warning grunt when the toddler in her home pulled her tail. Lana and her big paws (!! Foster Update! Mid would love a private yard that he can come and go in at will (with proper supervision of course). My yard is down a flight of stairs so not as “free roaming” as he might want. He refused to come inside until I got hot enough to insist. We can use the yard well but he would do well with one of those magnetic pet screens. He is doing better about not pulling when he is intrigued and walks very nicely on leash and must “patrol the perimeter” on his last walk before bed. He is playful listens well and has great manners. He is a pleasure! Such a great boy! MID is a 5-8 year old boy, happy, active and friendly. He has those short legs supporting that low riding barrel tummy. He has a swagger when he walks. He is inquisitive and curious. He loves walks (and possibly jogging) and is an almost perfect loose leash walker. He makes it pleasant to walk next to and pleasant to stop and give a quick treat and kudos. Mid weighs a solid 73 pounds and he also loves to run and play in a yard, always with a smile, I might add. Mid is good with other calm dogs from what we have seen so far!
