Story
Layla is an absolute sweetheart and loves cuddles, walks, and playtime. She has high anxiety and must be crated when I leave the house due to the separation anxiety. I moved here years ago with her, but my work schedule has gotten heavy and I feel horrible keeping her crated for so long. She has gotten into a handful of fights with other dogs so I have to keep her separated. I love her so much and she has so much love to give I just want her to be happy in a home that can give her more attention.

Story
Finn is available to meet qualified applicants BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.Please email contact@animalaidsociety.org for more information.Finian was found wandering the streets of Hampton on March 16th, his back leg injured and his head, face, eyes, and mouth burned with acid. This poor boy was left to fend for himself. Luckily, the amazing people who found him were able to get him to The COVE (Center Of Veterinary Expertise) for care and comfort that first night, then he went to stay with our friends at Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter for a few days, and now he's with us. We may never know who did this to Finn, but we do know that even though he's been through a lot... the only time he cries is when he's left alone. Over the past few months, Finn's face has healed, his vision has improved (but will never be great), and he underwent very intricate orthopedic surgery to repair his back leg. Finn desperately wants to be with people, but, he's never really had a chance to be a "normal" dog with loving humans. He's still learning. Sometimes he's fearful, sometimes he's over-excited and mouthy, and sometimes he's a calm snuggly dude. Finn will only be considered for adoption to a home with no children (nobody under the age of 18), and no other pets. He needs an experienced person to help him take his next steps towards recovery.Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.

Story
Meet Sugar- a young pit bull (1 Year) sweet heart with a tragic tale. Me, and my mom rescued Sugar from strangers attempting to surrender her as a puppy to a local kill-shelter. Sugar is a wonderful dog, and got along with my families children and other dogs well initially. Problems began developing when my mom was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer last year. Sugar was my moms dog, and she was unable to provide sufficient care for Sugar whilst going through Chemo. Sugar shows some behavioral issues, she has mild food aggression/resource guarding issues towards other dogs. I firmly believe that with proper training and scheduled meal times, this problem could easily be mended. However, we no longer have the luxury of time to do such. My mom passed from her illness 3 months ago, my Dad now has to surrender my Moms dog. I desperately need a home for this pup, so she does not have to face a shelter. Sugar is fully healthy aside from a cherry eye- Id help pay for removal

Story
Name: Lola Breed: American Bully/Terrier Mix Age: Almost 3 years old (born January 2022) Gender: Female (intact) Lola is a sweet and playful pup who loves to cuddle and spend time with her family. She gets along well with other dogs and is fully house-trained. She delivered her first litter of 10 healthy puppies in December 2023. Sadly, due to accepting a new job we will not be able to spend a lot of time with her at home. We are looking for a loving home where she can continue to thrive. She would make a wonderful addition to any family ready to give her the attention and love she deserves. Story
Meet Storm! She came to us pregnant and with heartworms from a shelter in rural North Carolina. Since then, she's raised her puppies (who've all found homes), been spayed, and successfully treated for heartworms. Storm is a 3 years old, 48-pound American Bully who's incredibly sweet! She's currently in foster care with dogs of all sizes and is doing great. Storm also gets along well with kids, and we've introduced her to cats but she is a little to interested so NO cats. She's a bit cautious around men, preferring to stay away from them if she can (she finds comfort in her crate). If you're looking for a loving new family member, Storm is the perfect choice! Remember, adopting a dog means committing to them for life. If you're interested in adopting Storm, please don't call. Instead, fill out an online application on 4 Paws Animal Rescue's website at www.4pawz.org. We verify the care history of past and current pets to ensure the best homes for our animals. We reserve the right to approve or deny applications based on what's best for the pet. #dogsareworthit #adoptdontshop #bullymix #rescueisthebestbreed #lovedogs #dogs #dogsareacommittment

Story
Meet Hero! He was adopted but unfortunately returned. This special guy deserves another chance! Hero is a 3-year-old mix of American Pitbull and Beagle, weighing 39 lbs. He's the type of dog that gets along well with every other dog and truly thrives in their company. Hero also does well with cats and older, savvy children. He's a fan of running and has even participated in a 5k. Hero knows many commands and does best with regular training sessions. He's eager to please his humans and is already housebroken and, crate trained. Having been let down before, Hero will need some time to adjust to a new home and expectations. His new family must understand that Hero is a lifelong commitment, and they need to be dedicated to providing him with daily exercise, ongoing training, and socialization. Remember, adopting a dog means committing to them for life. If you're interested in adopting Hero, please don't call. Instead, complete an online application on 4 Paws Animal Rescue's website at www.4pawz.org. We carefully review the care history of past and current pets. Story
Little Miss Coco may be on the smaller side, but she sure is full of personality! Coco came to us as a stray, so we don`t know about her history. She was shy when she first arrived, but it didn`t take her long to figure out who her new friends are! It may take a little time when you first meet her to pull at her heartstrings, and we`ve found that one of the fastest ways to get her to come out of her shell is a good game of fetch! Coco just loves toys! You know what else she loves? Going on walks with her friend, Cash! Walking next to her favorite shelter buddy makes her eyes light up! Coco really enjoys running around and wrestling with him, too. It does take a few strolls around the block for Coco to feel comfortable with other dogs, but we imagine she`ll be a good companion for another dog with slow introductions. We aren`t sure how Coco would do with cats at this time, and we do think she`d do best in a home with older kids due to her initial shy nature. Please give us a call to schedule an appointment to meet this precious girl, and we`ll answer any questions about Coco for you that we can!
