Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Enzo is an old soul who has the sweetest disposition. His eyes show his deep desire for connection with humans, and he will appreciate a patient home that will give him the months he needs to adjust. He has come so far since entering our care; he was pulled from a local shelter who rescued him from a life on his own, having very little human contact as a young puppy. Enzo trusts and loves other dogs very much and is learning not all humans wish to cause him harm. He is attached to his foster family (adults and children) and trusts them. Despite his days being full of learning new things, he has been so sweet and patient, considering everything is a new experience. Enzo initially did not like being put on a leash, but after taking long daily leash walks with his foster family, he has come to love them and walks with his tail held high. Enzo would love to have a canine companion. Enzo's pictures are deceiving. He is a petite guy at only 40lbs. Enzo is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, tested heartworm negative and on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.  * This dog's adoption fee is $275Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in this animal? The first step is an application, which can be completed at www.cvrrescue.org/adoption-applications/. The adoption fee helps cover a portion of the care provided for our animals, including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing for dogs, FeLV/FIV combo testing for cats, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines (including rabies vaccine), and any medical care received while in our care. All cats and dogs are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care. Notes about puppies: Adopters can expect a new puppy to have accidents, chew things they shouldn't, and have other normal, energetic puppy issues until they are trained, including jumping, mouthing, and general youthful naughtiness. If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we’re happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you’re looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy. We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal’s behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter. CVRR is a nonprofit organization. We have no paid staff, and all applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it may take 7-14 days to process your application, check your references, and gather follow-up info. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone numbers and email addresses for your vet and landlord references, and by answering each question fully. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the animal picks you, too. If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, we will collect the adoption fee and complete the adoption contract. CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization, and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out, the animal must be returned to CVRR. We will reevaluate the animal and choose a new home based on the best fit for it. January 6, 2025, 5:23 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.CVRR is listing this dog as a COURTESY to the actual owner. This dog is not currently in the care of CVRR, and CVRR makes no representations or guarantees for the animal's behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed has been given by the dog's current owner and should be verified by any interested potential adopter. Avery is a 4-year-old pit mix weighing about 50 pounds. She’s a beautiful, affectionate girl who has come a long way in her journey but is now looking for a calm, loving home where she can thrive. Avery’s Story Avery spent the first half of her life at the shelter before being adopted three months ago. She has made significant progress, thanks to her loving family and a dedicated trainer. However, despite all efforts, Avery’s anxiety and difficulty peacefully coexisting with the family’s 9-year-old dog have led to the heartbreaking decision to rehome her. Her current family wants nothing more than to see Avery continue to blossom in the right environment. Why You’ll Love Avery Cuddly and Affectionate: Avery is a lovebug who enjoys snuggling up with her people. Leash-Trained and Playful: She walks well on a leash, responds to commands like "sit," and loves to play. Laid-Back at Heart: After playtime, Avery loves nothing more than to relax and nap. What Avery Needs Avery would do best in a home: Without other dogs or with a highly experienced adopter who can manage her anxiety. With a patient and understanding family willing to continue her training. Where she can feel safe, loved, and supported as the incredible companion she is. If you’re ready to give Avery the forever home she deserves, you’ll be rewarded with endless love and loyalty. Let’s help this sweet girl find the peaceful and happy life she’s been waiting for!    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 25, 2024, 10:28 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. One of the sweetest boys in care—that’s Jack Frost! He loves other dogs, humans, and going for long walks. He’s good on a leash, and has fun wherever he is! One of our volunteers, looking for a great adventure on Saturday after he spent the morning in luxury at Sit Pretty Grooming. He was treated to a mud bath to help his infected skin, and also received a pedicure and toothbrushing. We always appreciate it when our dogs are given special treatment by someone in the community, and Sit Pretty never fails to please. He was a little nervous about jumping into the vehicle to begin with, but outings like this are so good for dogs to help them learn to accept going places in understanding that good things happen at the other end. Our one-year-old is also very receptive to training using treats, and loved the time spent in the lobby, where he got treats for sitting, spinning, and being adorable! You can have this dog come to your house and do the same things!   PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 27, 2025, 9:52 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.TRU is looking for a home. We appreciate that his family tried to find him a home with other humans, but it didn’t work out and he landed back in their car. Yes his neck is a mess because of an E collar that was used on him. (E-collars should never be used on dogs under the age of one year.) Tru is about six months old, is good with cats, and is scared of smaller dogs. That might be specific to the home where he is now, or it might be generalized. It does not appear that he is current with vaccines, and since he is being placed from his current home to an adopter, we would not guarantee vaccines are done. We appreciate that he is welcome to stay in his own home while he looks for a new family. If you’re interested in finding out more about Tru, you can start with an application and we will forward it to his family.       PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  My name is Eureka! I am a mixed breed, brindle with white, and I am three years old. I am at the shelter not because I’ve been a bad girl, but because my family had so many dogs they needed help taking care of them. I am glad I can have nice friendly people around me who can help me learn, good leash, manners, and how to be a good girl. I really like my housemate, Valkyrie, although she is more like a little sister to me since she is only eight months old. We like snuggling together right now, but we think we will be able to be separated at some point. Do you want to offer a cuddly girl a home? The story is that I will be spayed on Tuesday and will be available after that. But please come and meet me in the meantime if you want, and we will see just what kind of a match I can be for you. PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com. Everyone say hi to Dex! All you need to be friends with Dex is a good collection of squeaky toys, and a comfy couch to cuddle up on. Many of you may remember Dex. He was our longest stay dog two years ago until he was finally adopted by a wonderful man. Earlier this year we were saddened to learn that his owner had passed away and Dex was being returned to our care. Dex has been back for a few months now and hasn't been given a chance like we were hoping for. Dex is an absolute delight, he loves to go for walks and absolutely LOVES his stuffed toys. He also loves making new friends, so please give him a chance and ask about him the next time you're here! You're welcome anytime, or you can email adoptions@lynchburghumane.org with questions!
