If you are interested in Aster Lee please contact dogs@lostdogrescue.org Meet Aster Lee! A girl with a big smile and an even bigger heart. Aster is a sweetheart who has been stealing the hearts of all the people she meets. Her love and excitement for life are contagious. She always brightens up the day of her human friends with her joyful and enthusiastic personality! Aster is extremely loyal and loves being close to her people. She shows her affection by leaning into you and giving you a huge smile. It's nearly impossible not to smile back! She is adventurous and enjoys hiking and going on walks, but equally enjoys cuddling on the couch. She enjoys playing with rope toys and having the zoomies in the yard, but her favorite activity is playing in the water. Whether it's the beach, a creek, or a doggy pool, Aster is the first one to dive right in! From her time in homes on Dogventures, Aster Lee is reported to be fully house trained, is a lovely houseguest, and will even go to the door to let you know she has to go outside. She's a smart girl who knows a few basic commands, like sit, paw, down, place, stay, and she is always eager to learn more! Aster also loves other dogs. One of her favorite times of the day is when she gets to see her dog friends during the daily playgroup sessions she enjoys in the yard of the rescue care center. She's a social butterfly and makes friends with every dog she meets! Aster Lee is seeking an experienced and loving family. She is very excited to find the forever family that she can shower with love!

To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event they will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/ (*please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending which events*) He's not the wizard Harry, he's not Prince Harry, he's the doggo Harry! Meet Harry, the sweetest, goofiest, and most lovable boy! Harry is looking for an active forever home where he can live like a prince! Harry loves walks and has done very well on a leash, stopping for intervals, and sticking with you. Although Harry will need lots of exercise, he has had a soft, cuddly side to him that will just melt your heart. He loves burying his head into you, showing you his version of a hug, with all the love and affection you could ask for! Be prepared for him to show you he's a lap dog. Harry's favorite game is fetch, but he is not all too picky with his toys, he loves them all! The games you play, he will surely participate. His zest for life can overwhelm small children, so a home with kids 12+ would be best for Harry. He does well with dogs, and has thoroughly enjoyed playgroup at the rescue center! Harry has done well with house manners and has been crate trained, though he wouldn't mind a refresher! He is a star when it comes to basic training, knowing to "sit" like a master! His deep food motivation makes him a lovely dog to do tricks with. Harry is a bit too curious about cats, so a feline-free home would be best for this great young man. His goofy eyes, Jack-Russel-like coloring, mixed with his sweet personality and good manners make him your next companion! Come meet him at one of our events, he would love to say hi!

To learn more about Willow Grace, please get in touch with karabear310@gmail.com She's beauty, she's grace, she's Miss Willow Grace! Willow is a sweet and affectionate girl who loves any attention she can get. She loves to greet her humans with hugs and kisses. As her graceful roots indicate, she saunters on leash with minimal pulling, sniffing, and investigating her surroundings – but doesn't seem to like loud trucks. Her sweet and friendly nature doesn't stop with humans, as she has gotten along in the past with other dogs! According to her foster, Willow Grace is a perfect low-to-medium energy house guest, as she is also housebroken and can be left alone uncrated while you go to work. Willow Grace knows basic commands like sit, stay, and paw, and is happy to lounge on the couch to snuggle with you and her favorite stuffy. Willow has so much love to spread to the world around her. He is a very handsome guy with deep eyes, a sleek brown coat, and an expression that just entices you. Bear is a big part of the Lost Dog family, weighing in at 65lbs, which just means there’s more to love! Bear has been doing well with other dogs in our care when given a slow introduction. He would love to play around and maybe partake in a game of tag! He can be a bit hesitant in new situations, who isn’t? Careful, once he makes you his friend, there’s no leaving! If this prestigious boy catches your eye and your heart, don’t hesitate to take him home, you wouldn’t want to miss out!

To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event they will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/ (*please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending which events*) It’s not Christmas anymore, but you can still have a little Holly Jolly in your home! Meet Holly, a super excited pupper ready to meet you and get that forever home she so truly deserves. In fact, she gets so excited you will almost certainly be lucky enough to receive a trademarked “Holly Hug”, it’s her special maneuver to say HELLO. But before her hug comes the waggles. All the waggles. Holly loves wagging her tail, even if you’re across the street! So friendly, so excited! She is a typical young/teenage dog that requires lots of attention and exercise. Holly will quickly remind you of this by play-barking and signaling to her toys. She does well with potty training in the crate, she has continued to improve in this area, so with a little structure, encouragement, and treats, she will be 100% in no time! Holly has done well with her dog foster-sibling, however, she is still learning behavior cues and will need more reinforcement for when it’s time to take a break. Slow introductions would be best with supervised and structured playtime for a while. She does bark and yelp initially when put in her crate but quiets down very quickly and sleeps through the night without any noise. Holly is a wonderful dog that is just hitting the prime of her life. She is very smart and has already learned the 'sit' command (mostly)!  She is very trainable but will need a dedicated adopter who is willing to work with her and provide her structure for the puppy behaviors and then help her build her confidence to learn the world isn't so scary (like cars, and stairs). She may not be best in a household that has small children but she loves people and wags her tail. Holly is also good in the car and doesn't really make any noise at all. She is a joy and is looking forward to her forever home. Are you ready to add some Holly to your family? If so, come meet her today!

Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.is not cow! is sweet puppers! MOO MOO NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Moo Moo     Best Guess for Breed:   Pit bull terrier mix Best Guess for Age:  6 years as of October 2024     Gender:Female Approximate Weight:  40 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids but we can test her if you have them! Moo Moo should not go to a home with cats. Currently Living At: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to come up after completing heartworm treatment! Check out this video of Moo Moo: https://youtu.be/LgmRn5eL7Pw. Special Adoption Considerations: Moo Moo is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Moo Moo is Looking For: Her forever home! Through no fault of her own, this sweetie landed in the shelter. She's eager to once again have her own humans for sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed too, please! And maybe try out various toys to see what she likes. But bottom line - she's out of the puppy yips and knows what's most important in life - being safe and loved and under her own roof. In exchange she promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all her days.  Oh, and one more thing she's mentioned - a name change wouldn't be totally wrong.  What My Foster Says About Me:We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Story
I adopted Bella in 2021 from Lynchburg Humane Society. She is six years old now. She is the sweetest and most loyal girl. She does take some time to warm up to people, but once she does, she will be your best friend. She loves cuddles, bones, and long walks. She has truly been a great blessing in my life, and I hope I can find someone who will love her as much as I have. I'm looking for an experienced adopter and a home without small children where Bella could be the only pet. Contact me if you're interested.

Story
Female, 1 yr old, 37 lbs Personality: easygoing, snuggler, playful, affectionate, goofy/funny, quiet, and rambunctious. If you are looking for an absolute cuddle monster, River is the pup for you! She will burrow into your lap to ask for pets or give you a little lick on your leg and look at you with her sweet eyes. She is a goofy, affectionate dog who adores attention, pets, and napping directly on her humans whenever she can. River enjoys her walks around the neighborhood or going on a hiking adventure. She also loves playing fetch, tug-of-war, and other games with humans -- but one of her favorite things is wrestling in the yard with other dog buds. When she's not zooming around with her canine foster siblings, she will contentedly chew on her favorite stuffed whale. River is a quick learner - she's so close to knowing housetraining and understands the words "go potty" and "go outside." She's also doing well with crate training, including overnights and breaks during the day when her humans need to run errands or she's getting a little too excited with playtime. A kong or a few of her favorite toys and she's good to go in the crate. Could this lovable goofball be the pup for you? Apply today to meet River! __________________________________________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. Story
Hunter is a gentle 60-pound Pitbull mix with a heart of gold. This strong boy, about a year old, was found running loose on the back roads of Tennessee, but despite his tough start, he's in great shape with a silky black coat. While no one has come forward to claim him, Hunter is patiently waiting for a loving family to call his own! Hunter enjoys his daily walks and is working on not pulling on the leash. ‍&#226&#153&#130&#239&#184&#143 He’s curious, playful, and loves other dogs! He’s been sharing a pen with a Boxer, though we feed him separately to avoid any food aggression. Hunter does the cutest little dance when it’s time for his meals or walks—it’s sure to put a smile on your face! While he hasn’t been tested with cats or kids yet, Hunter did have a run-in with a neighbor’s chicken , so he might be best suited to a home without small livestock. Critter Cavalry Rescue is a Middle Tennessee-based 501(c)(3) that travels to the Northeast states weekly, helping high-risk homeless animals like Hunter find their forever homes. Dulce is a very friendly and fun-loving gal. She is extremely social with all people and all animals, but she really lights up when there are kids around. She can be a bit too in your face at times.... but she's still young and inquisitive. She is learning boundaries along with tons of other commands since she's a very smart cookie. And even though her videos show her happy, active side she definitely knows how to chill out and cuddle.

To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event he will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/ (*please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending which events*) Hi! I'm King. I am loving, loyal, and - ok, you made me say it - very handsome. Oh, and did I mention that I am looking for a best friend to adopt me? I like leash walks, especially in calm and quiet spaces where we can spend some quality time together without the crowds. But, I may get distracted by all of the wonderful smells because I really do need to put my nose on everything to explore the wonders of the world. Not only am I curious, I am up for a challenge! I like to run across streams, jump on logs, and hike the trails. I have lots of energy so will be sure to help keep up with your exercise plan. I even like to get in a jog from time to time. And, not to brag, but I am pretty smart. But, for the sake of all those delicious treats, I will pretend that it takes me time to master new tricks and skills. One more thing to tell you. I like to talk when I play. I hope you will come to meet me so we can play together forever, just you and me!
