Adoptable Bea Bea is the type of dog that when she sees you, she immediately goes into full body wags. Whether you just met, have been gone for 5 minutes or all day, this girl will shower you with affection.  Bea is: Sweet Easily entertained - she loves chewing her bone or playing with toys House broken - she sticks to her schedule, but she’ll also tell you if she’s gotta go real bad Crate trained - ask her to go to her “house” and she’ll settle into her crate Loves kids - because of her clumsiness, she’d do best in a home with kids 10+  LOVES to run, play fetch and flop in the grass  Bea is still a young dog who loves learning. She knows basic commands, checks in regularly with her handler on leash, and knows touch cues.  She would do best in a home with a yard, or a quiet, neighborhood for exercise If you are ready to adopt an ULTIMATE CUDDLE BUG and overall goofball, Bea’s your girl.     Our data base requires us to give an animal a breed.  The breed given to the dog is our best estimate, and should not be used to predict future behavior. Story
Little Maya was found by animal control officers dumped in a box on a trail in SE DC with her brother Manny. These poor pups had a horrible start to life. Maya was emaciated and stained with urine. Since arriving in her foster home, Maya has continued to open up and show us how much love she has to give. She’s very dog friendly and living with 4 other dogs. She absolutely adores her foster mama and although she’s slow to warm up to new people, with treats and time she opens up. We have no doubt that she will continue to learn to trust humans, despite her past.  Maya is housetrained so long as she gets frequent potty breaks or hangs in her crate when you can’t watch her. She sleeps soundly in her crate next to her foster’s bed too. Maya is a quick learner annd would benefit from an home that can give her the boundaries and structure(and love!) o help her grow up into her best self. Adopt sweet Maya and give her the life she never could have imagined! Our data base requires us to give an animal a breed.  The breed given to the dog is our best estimate, and should not be used to predict future behavior. Story
Meet Manny! At 18 pounds, don’t let his size fool you, Manny may be smol, but he’s mighty!  Manny loves to be where the action is at! Playtime, great. Nap time, sure. Watching you work? No problem! Even though Manny would love to hang 24/7, he’s does really well on his own too! Some fun facts about Manny: Manny is fully crate trained- sleeps there overnight and has been crated upwards of 6 hours during the day (not too shabby for a smol fry ). When you get home from work, he’ll do a bigggg stretch and greet you with his wiggles and kisses. He lives with 2 dogs and a toddler. Manny walks well on a leash - even next to a stroller. Likes to hangout with his foster family’s chickens - safe to say he doesn’t seem to have a prey drive. Manny has endured a lot in his short life- malnourishment, abandonment, mange and who knows what else. BUT what we do know is that he is a playful little puppy that is extremely social, loving, and tries his best as he’s learning basic commands.  Manny would fit into many homes- he’d be fine as a solo dog, as long as he’s continuously socialized or in a home with other pets.  Interested in adopting Manny? Apply today.    You can allow follow Manny’s foster adventures- @your_main_manny_vpbr Our data base requires us to give an animal a breed.  The breed given to the dog is our best estimate, and should not be used to predict future behavior. Gracie is the sweetest little with the biggest ears.   At about 5-6 months old, about 25 pounds, she still has a lot to learn, but aims to please!   Gracie is doing really well with house training and is treat-motivated. She knows “sit” and is working on more commands.   Gracie loves all animals- big and small. She currently lives with 2 dogs and a cat. She’s playful, but learning boundaries and is picking up on their cues.   Gracie loves pack walks in the neighborhood and walks well on leash.   When she gets excited she’ll get the zoomies, but then quickly chill.   Gracie loves to snuggle, cuddle and be close to her humans and furry foster siblings whenever possible.   Gracie is an absolutely adorable, affectionate, and playful pup!   With her big ears, sweet nature, and eagerness to please, she’s bound to charm everyone she meets. Whether she’s playing, enjoying a neighborhood walk, or curling up for a cuddle, Gracie is a true gem. She'd be a perfect fit for many families.   If you’re looking for a dog with a big heart (and even bigger ears), Gracie is ready to make your life even sweeter! Callie is looking for their forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Hello there, I'm Callie! My days are filled with curiosity, sniffing out new adventures. I'm a sweet soul, always ready to greet you with a friendly wag. I have a goofy side too, making everyone around me laugh with my playful antics. Energy? I've got loads of it! I love a good game of fetch or a brisk walk. I can be a bit shy at first, but once I get to know you, we'll be best friends. I'm looking for a forever home where I can share my love, laughter, and playfulness. Will you be my new best friend? To learn more about Lila, please get in touch with henryfungchang@gmail.com. Meet your next best friend, Lila! Lila is a loving, cuddly dog that loves any and all human interaction! She loves to play, and will engage in any games you want to play! While she can be energetic, her favorite activity is just to chill and relax. She especially enjoys blankets, sofas, and beds! Her favorite spot is in the corner of the bed, leaving you plenty of room, how perfect! Lila has done very well in her foster home, being very polite, doing all her business outside, and just being a joy to have around! She is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows lots of tricks! Her manners are on point, and she has responded well to her name. In addition to her name, she also seems to know "sit", "down", "shake", and "stay". She has done very well in vehicles in the past, and seems to enjoy the ride! She has slowly warmed up to living with a cat in a foster home, so slow introductions will be necessary for her. She has done well in the past with some dogs but can be leash-reactive, so a household with dog experience, patience, and the ability to handle Lila's size and energy would be best for her.

Aster is a sweetheart who has been stealing the hearts of all the people she meets. Her love and excitement for life are contagious. She always brightens up the day of her human friends with her joyful and enthusiastic personality! Aster is extremely loyal and loves being close to her people. She shows her affection by leaning into you and giving you a huge smile. It's nearly impossible not to smile back! She is adventurous and enjoys hiking and going on walks, but equally enjoys cuddling on the couch. She enjoys playing with rope toys and having the zoomies in the yard, but her favorite activity is playing in the water. Whether it's the beach, a creek, or a doggy pool, Aster is the first one to dive right in! From her time in homes on Dogventures, Aster Lee is reported to be fully house trained, is a lovely houseguest, and will even go to the door to let you know she has to go outside. She's a smart girl who knows a few basic commands, like sit, paw, down, place, stay, and she is always eager to learn more! Aster also loves other dogs. One of her favorite times of the day is when she gets to see her dog friends during the daily playgroup sessions she enjoys in the yard of the rescue care center. She's a social butterfly and makes friends with every dog she meets! Aster Lee is seeking an experienced and loving family. She is very excited to find the forever family that she can shower with love!

To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event they will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/ (*please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending which events*) He's not the wizard Harry, he's not Prince Harry, he's the doggo Harry! Meet Harry, the sweetest, goofiest, and most lovable boy! Harry is looking for an active forever home where he can live like a prince! Harry loves walks and has done very well on a leash, stopping for intervals, and sticking with you. Although Harry will need lots of exercise, he has had a soft, cuddly side to him that will just melt your heart. He loves burying his head into you, showing you his version of a hug, with all the love and affection you could ask for! Be prepared for him to show you he's a lap dog. Harry's favorite game is fetch, but he is not all too picky with his toys, he loves them all! The games you play, he will surely participate. His zest for life can overwhelm small children, so a home with kids 12+ would be best for Harry. He does well with dogs, and has thoroughly enjoyed playgroup at the rescue center! Harry has done well with house manners and has been crate trained, though he wouldn't mind a refresher! He is a star when it comes to basic training, knowing to "sit" like a master! His deep food motivation makes him a lovely dog to do tricks with. Harry is a bit too curious about cats, so a feline-free home would be best for this great young man. His goofy eyes, Jack-Russel-like coloring, mixed with his sweet personality and good manners make him your next companion! Come meet him at one of our events, he would love to say hi!

To learn more about Willow Grace, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Looking for a wonderful pup with some grace? Well, Willow Grace has it for you! Willow is a sweet and affectionate girl who loves any attention she can get. As her graceful roots indicate, she saunters on leash with minimal pulling, sniffing, and investigating her surroundings. Her sweet and friendly nature doesn't stop with humans, as she has gotten along in the past with other dogs! In addition to her poised demeanor, Willow Grace is a perfect house guest, as she is also housebroken. She would benefit from a human who would take the time to help her meet her health goals. But don't let her muscular build fool you, as she loves to run around with her ears in the wind! Willow Grace knows the command "sit" when there's a treat involved, so she would benefit from learning more basic commands. But her snuggly personality more than makes up for it. Willow has so much love to spread to the world around her. If all this love is just what you're looking for, get in contact with us today!

Story
Benji is a 1-year-old Bull Terrier mix with a heart of gold and a passion for cozy naps and outdoor adventures! He's the best life companion, making him the perfect dog for families that love to play and go outdoors. He likes belly scratches, butt scratches, long walks, and other dogs (sometimes a little too much). He loves to play all day since he has a ton of energy, all types of food, he loves people, and being out in the sun. He does not like cones but he can tolerate them, celery, and water in most forms - showers, pools, beaches. He doesn't like being ignored too long, and has a tad bit of separation anxiety at times. Benny would thrive in a home where he can get lots of love and attention but some time for him to sleep as well. He loves a bit of adventure and plenty of time to relax by your side. If you're looking for a loyal, loving buddy who's happy to explore by day and cuddle by night, he is right dog for you!
