I’m a 4.5 year old, 55lb pitbull mix, and my foster mom says I am such a special girl! She says if she didn’t already have 4 dogs, she’d keep me forever. I am a very fun girl. I love to run and play, with both my human and dog friends! I’m told I sometimes play too rough, but it’s just because I have such a zest for life! And probably because I haven’t gotten much of an opportunity to play until now! So, I’m still learning what’s appropriate. But I’m a very good girl! If you need to correct me, I will listen. I love toys and balls. I love playing in the water. I love taking walks and going on car rides. I loooove snuggles. Foster mom says I “have no regard for personal space” haha, but she says that’s okay, because I’m a great snuggle. This is Duncan Doggie, He is a 5 year old 67 pound Pit Bull (possibly a mix, there is no way to really know for sure in rescue) that has a lot of love to give but will need some special care in his furever home. Duncan has a lot of love to give and is overall a very happy and healthy boy but it took a lot of time, love and some medical care to get him there. Duncan Doggie was found dumped on the grounds of Avenal State Prison in California June of last year and no one really knows how he got there. He was covered in wounds that were either from other dogs or coyotes, missing a majority of his fur, skin rubbed raw, and a lot of his teeth were broken. A volunteer at the Avenal shelter posted a TikTok in hopes that a rescue would pull him and give him the medical attention he needed and the love he deserved, that is where I found him. I instantly fell in love with him and drove the 1800 mile round trip to pick him up and bring him back to Northern Utah. He is the biggest love bug and will gladly accept scratches and cuddles from any humans big or small! He loves to run around in the yard, play tug of war, play fetch, and if you are lucky he will even bring the ball back to you! True to his breed he also loves being lazy, he has his favorite purple minky that he stole from me and will go with him to his forever home for him to cuddle to his heart's content. He currently lives with children aged 3-14 and he is wonderful with all of them, sometimes he will get the wiggle butts and his tail could make him considered armed and dangerous, other than that though he is a complete sweetheart. Unfortunately due to his past he is fear reactive to any adult dogs and an addendum will be included in his adoption contract. He has loved every single puppy I've fostered in the last 8 months like it was his own but any adult dogs at home or in public terrify him and make him get full body shakes and then turn to aggression if he can't be removed from the other dog immediately. Since having Duncan here he has made huge strides in his health and he has been the happiest, most loving foster from the second I picked him up. We discovered that his fur was missing and skin was raw due to food allergies, he needs to be on a grain and poultry free diet to prevent that from happening again in the future, he is currently eating a salmon based food and thriving on it. In addition to his allergies he was in need of a complete dental and is down 14 teeth but that doesn't stop him from eating dry food and enjoying treats like any other dog. He is resilient and has not let a single negative thing slow him down, he is truly a special dog. I am 2 years old and weigh in at about 40lbs. I had a litter of puppies back in New Mexico before I moved here to Utah. Food wasn’t always available to me, and with having to feed so many puppies, I lost a lot of weight! My coat lost a bit of its shine as well, but now that I have been rescued I’m feeling much healthier! My coat and body are doing great and I’m ready to find my forever family <3 I am a very smart girl, and I want to please my people. I’ve been going to training classes and everyone is impressed with how attentive I am. At home, I have been learning how to walk next to my foster mom without pulling on the leash, and I’ve made so much progress! I am eager to please my humans, and am extremely food motivated, so I catch on to new training fast! Sometimes when I see something small and moving quickly, I really like to chase it! I’m learning not to do that, however it’s probably best if I’m in a home that doesn’t have other small animals like cats. My foster mom says I have something called a “high prey drive”… whatever that means. I’m always happy to go on walks with you, but just FYI - I am just as happy to hang out at home! I am what some may call a “couch potato”. I looove to sleep, and when I’m awake I like to just hang out in a comfy spot. I do great in a crate, but I won’t destroy anything if you leave me out in a room either! I'm potty trained and will whine when I need to go out. I’m quite low energy & maintenance, however something I would LOVE is to be pet and snuggled! My dream day would quite literally be getting my belly rubbed on the couch for hours on end. I really love my humans! Sometimes I love them a little too much, and might guard them against other dogs. I have a hard time sharing my favorite people, and because of this, I would probably do best as the only dog in the house! I don’t really guard anything else, and have never been aggressive towards my humans. The training courses are partly to help me learn I don’t need to guard my people, and I am definitely improving! I need to keep going for a little while, it’s been very good for me. I’m learning so much, and I have so much fun when I’m there! I am looking for someone who would continue to take me to my training classes, so I can keep up all of the good skills I am learning! My current trainer even discounts training after adoption! I am honestly the sweetest girl, who just wants to hang out and snuggle with my forever person/family. I've spent time with little kids and did great with them, too! She is so loved and we have had her for a year, it break my heart to have to rehome her, unfortunately I have had health issues I am allergic to her and it’s making hard to breath with her in the house.
