Story
Introducing Alexander, a gentle soul in need of a loving home. Alexander, along with his companion, was discovered by one of our compassionate volunteers, nestled in a parking lot looking forlorn yet composed. Their undeniable bond was evident as they refused to part ways, showcasing a heartwarming loyalty or a dire need for companionship. Despite a touch of timidity, Alexander's sweetness shines through. Upon offering them water, they eagerly drank, indicating their thirst and the immediate care they required. The sight of them cuddled up together in the car after rescue speaks volumes about their inseparable connection. Alexander, with his striking light tan fur and a velvety coat, appears to have been cared for in the past. At just 2 years old, he embodies youth and potential for a beautiful future. While he may be a bit apprehensive now, it's certain that with love and attention, he will swiftly overcome his fears and blossom into a confident and affectionate companion. Would you open your heart and home to foster Alexander? Your kindness and care will be the catalyst for transforming his world. Scout's Honor Rescue covers all fostering expenses, ensuring that fostering him is as worry-free as possible. Can you open your heart and home to Alexander? Your love and care will be the catalyst for his transformation from a timid soul to a confident and cherished family member. June 24, 2024, 12:01 pm

Story
Maya is a stunning 3-4 year old Pitbull mix who was found roaming the woods, heavily pregnant, and very malnourished. She gave birth to 9 pups on Feb 18, 2020. All her puppies have been adopted and she has been patiently waiting for her forever home! Maya is a fun and silly girl who will do best with an experienced handler and in an active home (plenty of walks and/or fetch). She's pretty high energy, but loves to snuggle as well. She's great with confident dogs with proper introductions, but tends to take advantage of nervous or insecure dogs. Maya does not live with children currently, but has shown to be great with kids 5+ when she's been around them. However, she can be mouthy when excited so we recommend kids over 8 years old as she means no harm. No cats.  Maya is spayed, current on vaccines and monthly prevention, microchipped and heartworm negative.  If interested in adopting her please visit www.rockabullyaf.org for the application and more information on our adoption process.  ##591304##

Story
Summer was found as a stray all by herself at just 2 weeks old. Local animal control took her to BARC Animal Shelter who sent out a rescue plea for her. We got her back on 6/11 and she's in foster care being bottle-fed. She will be available to start a local adoption trial once she's 8 weeks old, but until then, we can get a family/applicant approved + lined up. We aren't sure her breed but suspect a Bully breed mix.

These pups are in West University Place, Texas too!

Story
LOVES BELLY RUBS AND GIVES KISSES  Est. DOB 10/8/18, Weight ~ 65 lbs I’m Buster, a sweet, happy, eager-to-please, playful Boxer/ Black Mouth Cur mix fella who loves “marathon” belly rubs and snuggling for hours with my human dad on the sofa or the bed. When he sits on the floor with me, I love to lie across his lap and give kisses. I’m very loyal and doting with my human dad, with whom I’ve bonded tremendously, and I follow him everywhere. I’m respectful and trustworthy with children outside the coffee shop and on walks. A bonus is that I have a very soft mouth when I take treats and toys. Speaking of walks, I love them! But, True Confessions – I’m working on my leash manners so I don’t get overly stimulated by cats, squirrels, or certain other dogs. I really enjoy the company of most other dogs, whether playing or lounging around together.  Moderate exercise not only stimulates me physically but mentally too. I’ve been through obedience training and I “sit,” “down,” and “place” on command (for the most part). The trainer says that I’m a quick learner because of my treat-motivation. I’ve had a rotating cast of dog walkers, and they all applaud how people-friendly I am. With proper introductions, I meet new people and strangers easily – with the exception of people who ring that annoying doorbell. I’ve come a long way from when I was rescued at BARC, Houston’s City shelter. You know, there are advantages to adopting an adult dog like me who’s past the stage of puppy-craziness. I’m crate-trained and know how to use the doggy door. I’m not a digger and I don’t destroy anything that isn’t a toy -- other than a couple of pillows. I’ve been a loving adopted canine brother for many months but now my canine brother's anxiety has gotten worse, to the point where it is hard for us to be together therefore it’s better that I find a new home since he was here first.  So, I’m available for adoption again! If you’re looking for a big, gentle boy who’s a bundle of love, I fit the bill!! And I’m flexible – I can live in an apartment as long as I get adequate exercise or a home with a backyard for chasing the tennis ball.  I’d love to be the star of the show and get all of your love, i.e., not have to share you with another dog in the home, but I’d still like going to Day Care, the dog park, and play dates with my canine friends. Arrange to meet me, and remember, I’ve never met a stranger! Story
Brutus is a sweet English bulldog, who is good with dogs, cats, humans, children and everyone. He is affectionate, funny, and quiet. Brut can live alone and also with another dog. He was abused by one of his many homes he has moved from, and gets fearful if you raise your hand. He will cower in fear. So we need a very loving but confident parent for him. He does not like changes, therefore he needs to go to a home where he is going to have a permanent life. Even though he loves kids, given his anxiety, we will prefer a home without children. Brut is about 65 lbs now, fully vetted, current on vaccination, and is neutered and microchipped. He is also heartworm negative and kept on preventatives. To meet this sweet pup via facetime or whatsapp or in person, please send an application available at www.savesomesouls.com
