Story
LOCATION: St. Augustine, FloridaDOB: 08/15/2022Lucy is not just a dog; she’s a blue mantle marvel, a XL bully and Great Dane mix with the heart of a rockstar and the charm of a lap dog. She’s the honorary member of the Dane club, but with her compact size, she’s the perfect cuddle companion—almost a teacup version of her majestic kin.Lucy is a social butterfly, adoring other dogs and always eager to make new furry friends. A lizard-chasing enthusiast, she might have a bit of cat—or antelope—in her DNA with her pouncing prowess. When it comes to toys, she’s a serial stuffie assassin—no plush toy is safe around her!At home, Lucy is a dream playmate, getting along splendidly with both senior dogs and energetic boxers. Snuggling is her specialty; she doesn’t understand the concept of personal space and prefers to be right in the mix of things. Her communication skills are top-notch, with “talking buttons” that she smacks to express her thoughts.Lucy’s hobbies include water fun, running, and her beauty sleep—complete with adorable snores. Already a pro at “sit” and “wait,” she’s honing her leash skills, though her athletic build makes it a workout.Special considerations for Lucy include her food allergy, so she’ll need to stick to her current diet or undergo testing to identify the culprit. Kids adore her, and she adores them right back, though her size sometimes gets the better of her excitement. She’s also your personal morning alarm, ensuring you never miss the start of a new day.Fab facts about Lucy: she’s a unique blue mantle marked Great Dane mix who adores other dogs and loves to befriend neighboring pups. She’s good with kids 5 years and up due to her energy level and would love a canine companion and an active household. Lucy loves to PLAY PLAY PLAY, is crate trained and potty trained, and gets along well with senior dogs and young dogs alike. She’s submissive yet playful, a snuggle champion (personal space not included), and makes entertaining noises while loving to talk smack or snacks. She loves water, running, sleeping, and snoring, and goes by several nicknames/aliases: Lucy Goosey, Goose, House Hippo, and Space Invader.Lucy is ready to rock your world with her playful antics, endless snuggles, and boundless love. If you’re looking for a unique, quirky, and entertaining companion, Lucy is your girl! Reach out to meet this special teacup Dane and let her steal your heart. She’s ready to rock on with her good girl self and become the star of your family show! All of our Great Danes are altered, if medically possible, fully vetted, micro-chipped, and on heartworm prevention or treatment prior to being adopted. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi I am Marble! My birthday is November 13, 2019.  My foster home is located in Collin/Denton county. I weigh about 60lbs and knee high tall. I am looking for my forever home. My owner had to surrender me so they could get medical care out of state and now they are not coming back. I am a super happy, sweet and fun loving girl. I love being with my people. I am eager please and want to do my best. I listen very well also.  I love snuggling with you in bed and on the couch.  I have lots of energy so I need a home that will give me a lot of attention and exercise. I enjoy playing with balls and stuffed animals. I am a super vocal girl who makes a lot of different sounds. My foster mom says that I purr, coo and even sound like Chewbacca from Star Wars sometimes.  I am crate trained, mostly house trained and love riding in the car. I eat Purina One dog food and love dog treats and chew toys. I do okay with the cats in my foster home but I am not left unsupervised with them, my foster mom crates me when she is not home. I do well with other dogs after I am properly introduced to them. I get very excited when I see a new dog and can overwhelm them with my energy so I need to be introduced slowly and while being supervised. I love playing with the other dogs in my foster home. My foster mom says I will be fine as an only dog also. I have cats in my foster home but I am not left unsupervised with them. I would probably do better in a home without cats. I would love to be showered with attention and be the love of your life. Please consider adopting me. I promise I will be a loving and loyal companion to you. If you are considering adopting two dogs. please consider adopting me with my best friend, Sadie. Marble's foster home is located in the Denton County area. Story
Romeo was dumped at our storage facility, along with his siblings and we were lucky to have found them. He was sick with Parvo when we brought him into the shelter. We nursed him thru, and he has grown into a big, happy boy. However, he does have some trust issues that have to be overcome with new people. He is terrified of meeting new people, so he will need and experienced and patient adopter. He will be a great dog once out of his shell, because we here at the shelter get to see how great he is, because we see it everyday. Playful, loving, he will be a great pet for someone who gives him a chance. Recommend he be in a home with no small children...older kids ok, no cats. He looks like he is mixed with chocolate lab, and his eyes match his coat.

Story
This sweet and goofy girl needs a home. She is a senior dog who has been at the shelter for over two years. She is looked at and considered frequently, but she is ultimately passed on. Molly loves her humans. She has been around children here at the shelter and adores them. She loves all adults. But Molly needs to be the only dog in a home that has no cats. Or farm animals. She does not get along well with other dogs and she does not seem to like cats...she has a high interest in them. But with humans she is, despite her age, still very playful, still very goofy. She will get excited and run zoomies all around you. She loves to play fetch. She can be a bit intense, she brings her A game to every encounter. But with the right family, she would be a great dog. Her best home would be with a fairly active adults or adult. She would like a good walk each day or some play time. She was housebroken when she was brought into the shelter. She likely still is, but we don't keep them indoors, but in indoor outdoor runs. She does use only her outside area, so we think she is likely still housebroken. If not, it would not be hard to bring her back up to speed. Older kids would be okay, but not smaller ones. Molly does play intensely so she may be too much for a child to handle. Most of her play energy diminishes after a few minutes of hard play, but still, she may jump into or run over a small child in her zeal, so we think children 12 and up would be recommended for her. As a senior dog, she does come with an adoption discount. She is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, and microchipped. HW free.

Story
Please contact Tonya Griffith (TMSGriffith@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Posted 12/13/17 and pictures taken 11/29/17.  He keeps his ears down when I try to get more videos of him, so I have not updated his pictures yet.  I picked Axel up from the Smith County, TX Animal Shelter on 11/29/17.  He had been picked up on CR 3140 on 11/8/17 weighing 30 pounds, and estimated to be 4 years old.  He was scared in the kennel at the shelter.  Once out of the kennel, he was in my lap licking my face while I was signing his release papers, good on a leash, and likes going for rides.  I have let him run around several of my dogs with no problems, but he can act dominant to some other male dogs.  He was neutered on 1/5/2018.  He does not like being inside a home, so he requires a fenced yard with shelter, and although I put him on my lap at the shelter, he is not a lap dog.  He does jump on my leg to get my attention to pet him. He was heartworm positive when I got him from the shelter, and has been on heartworm prevention since, so he should be negative by now using the slow kill treatment. D.O.B.:     ? 2013 Weight:     30.0 - 11/8/17 $25 adoption fee.  He had donations toward his vet care.October 20, 2024, 10:53 pm
