Story
Some dogs can never catch a break. Willie was saved from a local shelter’s eu list about a month ago. Unfortunately his adopter recently suffered a major health issue and will no longer be able to care for him. A friend stepped in to care for the dogs temporarily but they have to be rehomed by the end of this month. Willie is a 6 year old snuggle bug. The person currently staying with the dogs was so touched by how he cuddled up to her at night then followed her to the couch to cuddle some more. He is the ultimate loyal, Velcro dog. We are hoping that we can give Willie another chance in life. He is such a lover has and gets along well with the other dogs in his home. If you are interested in learning more about him, please contact us at animaladvocatesofnorthtexas@ymail.com.

Story
Meet Sammy!Sammy is a mellow fella with a heart full of sweetness. About a year old and currently being fostered in Texas, he was saved from the euthanasia list and has been working hard with his trainer to be the best boy he can be!Sammy's personality is a perfect blend of playful and relaxed. He enjoys a quick game of tug-of-war and then settles down to chill by your side. Not a huge fan of fetch or balls, but give him a good tug toy and he’s happy! Interestingly, Sammy has a night-owl streak, often showing his energy when the sun sets. He’s curious and endearing, finding joy in simple things like plastic bags fluttering in the wind and watching cats and birds. Surprisingly, squirrels don’t seem to catch his attention much! His food motivation makes him eager to learn and bond, making training a breeze.Sammy is dog-friendly and house trained. His sweet, laid-back nature makes him a wonderful companion for someone who wants a mix of fun and relaxation. If you're looking for a loyal, easygoing buddy who loves life’s little quirks, Sammy might be your perfect match. He’s ready to meet his forever family – could that be you? Story
Meet April! She is THE most snuggly dog there is. She had to go through a knee surgery at her young age of about 1 year old, is healed up nicely, and has been using that leg MUCH better. She’s a big lap dog and loves to toss her toys around and play. If you want a warm “I missed you so much!” welcome when you get home, she’s your dog. She’s absolutely great with other dogs and would probably be happiest in a home with another playful dog to roll around with. She has a penchant for utter silliness and is a laugh waiting to happen. If allowed, she would love to snuggle up with you and share a bed/couch through all hours of the night. April is amazing with kids as long as they don’t mind big dog kisses. She does great on a leash, listens well, and has picked up basic commands SO quickly. She is impossible not to fall in love with. As her fosters, we have definitely fallen for this ball of love and silliness and will miss her like crazy but are looking forward to getting her into the perfect home.  April was born April 2023 and is located in a foster home in Texas. Meet Nova! Nova is a burst of joy just waiting to brighten your world! Her playful energy shines through in her love of toys, zoomies around the yard, and her food-motivated eagerness to learn. But what truly makes Nova special is her endless affection. Whether she’s curled up on the couch, sleeping beside you, or chewing on a bone nearby, she’s happiest when she’s by your side, soaking up every bit of love you have to give.   Her story is one of courage and second chances. Born in 2020, Nova was saved from the euthanasia list as a pregnant stray, and with the help of kind rescuers, she and her 8 precious puppies were nurtured and found loving homes. Nova found a home, but she was returned through no fault of her own. Now she’s ready to begin again with a forever family who will love and cherish her unconditionally.   Nova is house trained, crate trained, and wonderful with children. She has done well with dogs of all sizes, genders, and ages with slow and proper introductions. She thrives under the care of a confident handler with breed experience who can provide firm, consistent guidance. Continued training and structure will help her flourish.   If you’re searching for a loyal, loving, and spirited companion who embodies the beauty of second chances, Nova is ready to light up your life. Are you the special person who can give Nova the forever home she deserves? Let Nova’s love and resilience shine in your world!  Nova was born in 2020 and is being fostered in Texas. Story
Meet Giddy! Hear me. I’ve never said or written anything like this before. I could have 100 people that were remotely considering adding a dog to their family, come & meet our Giddy boy. I guarantee 100 out of 100 families wouldn’t leave without submitting an application with desperate hopes of adopting him. HE REALLY IS THAT DREAMY. It’s truly unbelievable.  This baby right here… He’s too good for humanity. We found him at a high kill shelter and he was dangerously close to euthanasia when we snatched him up. He was just a 5-6 month old Bully/Boxer mix  (as of 12.01.2024) that clearly had been completely abused and neglected his entire short life. He was covered in injuries and urine burns from being trapped in a small space to waste away. The ulcers and sores on his feet and hind end were something like I’ve never seen. (From urine burns.) They must have been excruciatingly painful. I’d never even seen nails as long as his… He could hardly walk. (I had to carry him to the car.) That small space he was confined to clearly didn’t offer food or water because he was dangerously close to losing his life to starvation and dehydration.  When we had the privilege of removing him from the shelter, he had a laundry list of veterinary care needed. He came with a URI, the most severe case of Giardia seen to date by that technician, massive ulcers in between the pads of his toes & consuming his hind end, and more.  We didn’t know what we were getting ourselves into but it sure didn’t take long for us to realize we hit the jackpot with this dog, that the shelter didn’t even bother to name. Giddy is the most happy go lucky, grateful, affectionate dog I’ve had in my home thus far.  He is so low key and easy going it is unreal. He is indeed a low energy puppy. He desperately wants to please and be your shadow. He is HIGHLY motivated by food, so he’s going to be a breeze to train!  He is the king of cuddling. Even though he was super weak in the beginning, he would use all of his might (with a little of my help) to get up on the couch to be next to us. This pup loves cats, dogs, kids, and gets along with everyone and anything.  Sweet Giddy LOVES car rides and is smart, smart, smart! He is kennel trained and has almost mastered the new task of potty training. He takes a toy out to potty with him almost every single time and it is adorable! He has been through hell so we are looking for his dream family that will make up for his past and treat him like the treasure he is for the rest of his days. Goodness gracious, it’s remarkable how one could go through so much and still have his sweet spirit. Simply put. He is perfection. He’s going to be a big boy. He arrived at our home weighing 35.4 pounds and in just 16 days, this boy with the skeletal frame is now up to 61.1 pounds! We can’t wait to watch him continue to grow, thrive, and just continue to love living the family life. We sure are in no hurry for him to leave. ? Who ever ends up with this saint of a dog is so dang lucky! Giddy was born in May 2024 and is located in a foster home in Texas.  OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS OR COLORADO BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Story
Meet Mary Kate! Once upon a time there was an itty bitty precious 5 week old little thing that was found roaming the rough streets of Fort Worth. When she was brought to the shelter, she tested positive for Parvo. That is almost always a death sentence, for a dog in the shelter. They didn’t even bother giving her a name. Somehow though, she made it through treatment and thrived… UNTIL she caught an upper respiratory infection. The shelter couldn’t keep her any longer and she was out of time. She went to the top of the code red list. It’s hard to believe that an 8 week old puppy could lose their life because of space and illness, but it happens… Thankfully we snatched this darling up with minutes to spare and named her Mary Kate. (Approx 9 weeks as of 12.20.24) This little angel is as quiet as a church mouse. She is kennel trained and as long as she has a bed, she is happy to doze the day away. When she’s out, she is the most playful, bouncy baby girl. She’ll stick her hiney in the air when playing and wag that tail and your heart will melt. I forgot to mention, if you put her in your arms, she’ll stay content there all day. If you lay down with her in your arms to take a nap, this sweetheart won’t move an inch. She lives to love and be cuddled. Mary Kate completely ignores cats. Loves kids and is aching to play with the other dogs. This little girl is a beautiful blank slate that could get along with anyone. She is all love and light and we are so thankful we get the privilege of being her foster family! Mary Kate was born October 9, 2024 and is located in a foster home in Texas. OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS OR COLORADO BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE.
