Story
Kira is a sweet and affectionate girl who despises staying outside. She's mastered house and crate training and will willingly go into her crate when directed. She can break out of wired crates, but typically does good. Despite being deaf, Kira understands hand signals for commands like "sit" and "quiet." She is great with kids and strangers but prefers to be the only pet in the home. She's not fond of cats and does not do well with dogs. While she enjoys tearing up toys, Kira is well-behaved otherwise and has a higher-pitched bark when feeling anxious. She's not shy about letting you know when she wants attention and happily smiles when her belly gets rubbed. Kira is a pro on the leash and loves car rides, making her an ideal companion for outdoor adventures. She does not like baths and will try to escape while receiving one. Although she has skin allergies and a lump that needs assessment, she's spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm-negative.

Story
Tazmania was adopted from us in 2021 and returned because she was going after the neighbor's cats. She is extremely people friendly and does well with older kids(younger children unknown). She does not need to be homed with cats or smaller animals as she has a high prey drive. She did okay with another female dog, but we do always highly recommend a meet and greet with any current house hold dogs. Because of how emaciated she was when she was returned, she may resource guard her food and should be fed in her own area. She can be strong on a leash but settles pretty well if no distractions are present. She may be potty trained as her kennel is usually clean, but we do always recommend a refresher course. She does okay while crated. Tazmania is spayed, vaccinated with DHPP and Bordetella, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention. She does need a rabies vaccination.

Story
Maizel was surrendered because the family had a baby and could not keep her anymore. She needs a secured fence if she is going to be an outdoor only dog as she will chase livestock. Her previous owner stated she was good with other dogs and loves playing with them, however while being here she has been aggressive towards the other dogs. She may do fine once out of here. A meet and greet is always highly recommended with any current house hold dogs as well as our foster program. She has never met a stranger and has done great with kids. She has not been around cats. She is housetrained, crate trained, and does well being left alone inside. She has, however, jumped our chain-link fences while loud noises are happening around her, so a secure fence is highly recommended. She rides well in the car and knows basic commands. She has not been on a leash often the past few years and is getting used to it. Maizel has received a DHPP and Bordetella vaccinations. She is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention. She is due for a rabies vaccination.

Story
Zebediah was adopted from us and then returned after he got too protective over their children. He was slow to open up here at the shelter, but adopters said he did just fine opening up once at their home. He does not like people rushing up on him. He loves treats. He loves stuffed animals and any other toy, and likes to keep them in his mouth. He also loves tug a war and will play for hours if he could. He does okay in crates and seems to be potty trained, however a refresher course is always highly recommended. His previous adopter stated he was good in a car, on a leash, and when being left alone. He seemed too interested in cats while we weighed him in the cat room, so he would not do good in a home with cats. He did good with other dogs in passing, but he would do best as the only dog in the home as he can get too possessive of his people. We do not know how he is with livestock. Zebediah is fully vaccinated, micro-chipped, neutered, de-wormed, and heartworm negative and on prevention. ECHS does not reserve adoptable animals for the public. Adoptions are first come first serve the day of availability. Please note that availability is subject to change at any point in time per ECHS discretion.

Story
Casienova was recently adopted and returned due to no fault of her own. She is a very sweet but anxious dog. She doesn't like being here and tries to squeeze past us as we try to move her to and from kennels. We do recommend her going to a home with a privacy fence if you plan on her staying outside for long periods of time as she has chewed holes in our wire fences. She loves attention and has a big ol' wiggle rump once she is receiving it. While in foster she loved to cuddle, receive belly rubs, and head scratches. She does well once in a crate but does require some help to get in there. She does bark when not given attention and when others start barking. When being dog tested she was nervous at first but quickly wanted to play. We would not recommend her going to a home with smaller dogs as she does have some high energy and doesn't know her size. We do always highly recommend a meet and greet with any current household dogs. Casie has a severe flea allergy that flea collars cannot help, so she will need a prescription flea and tick preventative for her to live comfortably. Casienova is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and heartworm negative and on prevention. ECHS does not reserve adoptable animals for the public. Adoptions are first come first serve the day of availability. Please note that availability is subject to change at any point in time per ECHS discretion.

Story
Angelina was found in Stephenville and never reclaimed. She is a sweet lady who is still opening up here at the shelter. While being here we have learned she does not like other dogs, especially females. She has shown she has a high prey drive and wants to go after any cat/small animal she can see. She does have a tendency to pull pretty hard on a leash when there are distractions, but walks pretty well when in a calm space. She does beg for attention and loves every bit of it. She loves playing with toys and knows fetch. She will, however, sometimes not let go of the ball. Angelina is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, de-wormed, and heartworm negative. ECHS does not reserve adoptable animals for the public. Adoptions are first come first serve the day of availability. Please note that availability is subject to change at any point in time per ECHS discretion.

Story
Electra is estimated at 6+ yrs old, weighing in around 60 lbs, she is house broken, kennel trained, and full of personality and spunk. She is stunning, great on leash, friendly to strangers. Does good around most other dogs she meets but is selective when it comes to her friends. She has been great with the puppy in the house! She wants to be next to you, cuddled up on the couch or playing. Her favorite thing to do is explore the yard in search of frogs to pounce, splash in her kiddie pool, or play in the water hose. She is eager to please and would be eager to learn commands. Electra is fully vetted, spayed, microchipped and waiting for a family of her own to love. She has lots of love to give.
