Story
Adopt a Dobby! Loving but high strung Leo lived with my sister’s family for 4 years. He was a rescue and her family is military. He lived with another dog and children in the home. My sister’s husband got restationed and they left both dogs at my parents’ house. The older dog is easy to take care of, but my elderly parents can’t handle Leo. They refuse to put him in the shelter because they are afraid he won’t find a home. His poor nervous system is strained as my parents are unable to give him the care and focus he needs for a better quality of life. My parents’ two cats live isolated in a bedroom because Leo has never been around cats. He really needs a home with no other pets. He is at rest and at peace when he is alone with one of the kids in their room. My parents asked me to help them rehome him.

Story
Tofu was found on the streets of Austin last spring and long story short, his previous owner was not interested in taking him home, so he came to stay with us! Unfortunately, he's not getting along with the other dogs in our pack. After a scary incident last summer, we came to the difficult decision that all of our animals would live a much happier and safer life if Tofu found a home where he is the only dog. He is about a year old Pit Bull. He's very friendly with people, and is equally happy to run and play in the backyard or snuggle up with you on the couch. He loves to eat peanut butter out of his lick mat. He's crate and house trained, knows how to sit, walks relatively well on a leash, and is good for grooming. He knows to "wait" before eating his food, exiting his crate, and going out the door into the yard. He comes chipped and vaccinated, and is used to being home alone while we work. Tofu will be somebody's best friend- could he be yours? Comes with food, leash, crate, & bowl

Story
Meet Tyson, affectionately known as "TY TY BOOTY," a 3-year-old pit bull who is really starting to come out of his shell. Tyson has a laid-back demeanor but enjoys a playful romp with other dogs in a little pittie rumble. While he hasn't shown off any zoomies yet, his curiosity keeps him eager to explore. Tyson is incredibly food and treat-driven, quickly hopping into his crate at bedtime in anticipation of a reward. Though he doesn't like being left alone and prefers to stay close to his people, Tyson is a sweet-natured pup with a hint of puppy mischief. He has a particular fondness for oven mitts and the occasional Amazon package, but with a bone to chew on, he settles down quietly. Tyson has been an easy foster. He might be a bit anxious around small children and large crowds but is wonderfully gentle with his foster family's 13-year-old autistic son. Tyson is looking for a loving home where he can be a loyal and wonderful companion. To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
Meet Gizmo, the lovable little mogwai of the dog world! This adorable one-year-old pip may be shy at first, but once he warms up, his goofy, playful side shines through. Much like his namesake from the movie, Gremlins, Gizmo is a sweet and gentle soul who thrives when surrounded by other dogs, as he is much more confident and comfortable when he has a canine buddy by his side. Gizmo`s perfect home would be one with a patient family who can help him build trust at his own pace and maybe even another dog to bring out his best self. If you are ready to take home a little Gizmo of your own, come meet this quirky, lovable boy! Just remember, no late-night snacks after midnight! Story
Ginger is a resilient and loving dog who has come a long way from her days on the streets. When first rescued, Ginger was severely malnourished, but with dedicated care and plenty of love, she blossomed into the healthy, joyful dog she is today. Despite her rough start, Ginger's spirit shines in her affectionate nature and deep bond with her favorite people. One unique aspect of Ginger's appearance is her cropped ears, cut too short by her previous owners. Her fosters like to joke that maybe they secretly wanted a cat, and Ginger, with her unique look, carries it well! She's a wonderful snuggler, always ready to curl up beside you for a nap or lean in for extra affection. When it's playtime, Ginger transforms into an eager fetch partner, and when she's not running around, she loves basking in the sun. In addition to being very friendly with kids (having been fostered with teenagers), Ginger is also housebroken, making her easy to care for at home. She's great in a crate for a couple of hours, especially if she has a chew toy or a snack-filled Kong to keep her entertained. She also loves car rides and would make a fun, loyal road trip buddy. Although Ginger enjoys human company, she prefers to be the only dog in the household, where she can soak up all the love and attention. Ginger is ready to bring warmth, loyalty, and joy to a forever home that appreciates her unique charm and affectionate personality. Ginger is being fostered in Seguin, TX. She can be adopted in other states (except NH and MA due to their quarantine laws). Her adoption fee is $250 & her transport fee is $300 if adopted out of state. Story
Meet Alice! Alice is a sweet and goofy 2.5-year-old Pitbull mix who has overcome a rough past to become a loving and playful companion. Spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped, Alice is ready to find her forever family! She lives for belly rubs and will happily wiggle non-stop to get more. She’s also a toy lover who adores carrying her favorite stuffed toys everywhere she goes. Alice is 100% house-trained, never having an accident in her foster home, and enjoys sunbathing and exploring the yard during her outdoor breaks. Once she’s added you to her “trusted list,” she’ll shower you with love, cuddles, and even try to be your 56-pound lap dog! She’s crate trained and does best in a heavy-duty crate, as she likes to feel secure. While her leash manners are still a work in progress, her enthusiasm for life and love is unmatched. Alice is looking for a patient and loving family who will give her the care and understanding she needs to thrive. “You can’t change a dog’s past, but you can rewrite their future.” Could Alice be part of yours? I am currently in a foster home and not at HSNBA, if you are interested in meeting me, please contact the nice folks at HSNBA so they can put you in contact with my foster family to set up a meet & greet. E-mail HSNBA at adoption@hsnba.org, call us at: (830) 629-5287 or stop by and speak with the folks at HSNBA at 3353 Morningside Dr. to get your information sent over to my foster home. My foster family is the best and can give you more information on me.Here is what my wonderful foster family has to say about me: “ Whelen is an absolute snuggle bug & goofball! He makes us laugh everyday. He definitely has velcro tendencies, so he is always by my side. He likes to stick his tongue out and sleep with his toys. He’s great on the leash, I’ve been trying to leash train him a little more before I take him on a walk. He sleeps in the kennel when he’s home alone but I know he would do amazingly with someone who stays at home. He likes to play fetch with tennis balls, we bought a Chuckit stick & ball, he loves that. He definitely needs room to run, he has a lot of energy. He is pretty vocal as well, but he won’t talk to us just out of boredom. He only barks if something is bothering him; like when he wants to come back inside and he’s waiting at the door. As for toys, I’d recommend hard plastic, long lasting chews/bones, and hard rubber—no silicone. Stuffies are fine but just watch him because he will get the stuffing out. He also loveeesssss enrichment and is very smart, so I’d recommend puzzles. For feeding, he’ll need a slow feeder. I’d suggest a more difficult one because he’s already figured our simple one & he’s able to finish 2 cups of kibble in about 7 mins. He only poops outside, he’ll only pee inside if you don’t take him out in time. But besides that, he’s potty trained to only use the restroom on grass. Oh and by the way, he will most likely poo in four different spots of a 2 ft radius. He doesn’t have any problems with touching/holding/tugging on his paws, ears, tail, or mouth. He lets us dress him with bandanas, but we haven’t tried clothes yet. He doesn’t show any aggression if I put my hands in his food/water bowl, or if I take a toy from his mouth. He’s quite curious so he’ll sniff EVERYTHING. He will also take your shoes as a toy, but he’ll chew on whatever toy you replace it with. He’s fine in the bath, he might try to jump out when your rinsing him but of course those are things we can work on. We have a wire fence and he’s never tried to jump it. I wouldn’t leave him unattended without any toys, he’ll find something to chew on. He is definitely an expert chewer. He only jumps if he gets really excited, but we try to minimize it because I know not everyone likes to be jumped on. He usually only gets zoomies outside and he might jump on you then. He He is amazing with kids, no problem with ages 4-10he hasn’t met other dogs while being with us, so I’m unsure how he behaves with other dogs. He does like to give a lot of kisses, so I would keep that in mind for his adopters. He is overall a dream dog & would be amazing in any household besides an elderly home.”HSNBA lists all animals online from the moment of intake, and our listings are updated automatically every midnight.
