Story
Sassy was found alone and lying in the street in such a deplorable condition that she was barely able to walk. She obviously hadn't had a meal in a very long time and her nails had grown so long they had curled into the pads of her paws causing a great deal of pain. After being evaluated by our vet, we discovered Sassy was blind. Despite all of this, Sassy is the sweetest dog who just wants to cuddle. She gets along well with other dogs and cats, and is ready to find her forever home. If you'd like to meet this sweet girl, the first step is to fill out our no obligation adoption form at bit.ly/starlightadopt. Her adoption fee has been waived and all heartworm treatment, vaccines, micorchipping, and spay surgery will be covered by Starlight.

Story
Meet Brownie, a 1-year-old petite Pit Bull mix with soft cocoa-brown fur and mesmerizing toffee-colored eyes. She’s a sweetheart with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. Brownie has a unique white marking around her nose and is a people-lover who adores kiddos and gets along well with other dogs. After being found wandering the streets, Brownie bonded with a Good Samaritan who couldn’t resist her charm. Brownie currently only weighs 40 pounds but with with stable nourishment we expect her to reach a healthy weight. Now settling into her foster home, Brownie has relaxed and is becoming more comfortable each day. She responds well to positive reinforcement and understands the command "no." Her journey hasn’t been easy—she bears some scars that resemble road rash, likely from being hit by a vehicle. Despite her past, Brownie’s spirit remains unbroken. She’s crate-trained, doggy-door potty trained, and ready to find a forever family that will give her the love she deserves. Brownie is full of affection and will undoubtedly melt your heart. Give this gentle girl a chance at the life she’s been waiting for! Please visit our site at https://www.jennisrescueranch.org/ for more information on how to adopt. Story
A friend fostered a pregnant pit mix and Prue was part of that litter. He was able to foster her for a year, beside 2 other adult dogs and brought her to me in Aug 24, so Prue is just a little under a year and a half. Shes a bit timid, but loves playing with that small kitten sitting on top of her kennel, in her pictures. I even have a video of them playing. I never once found any injuries on the kitten, but that kitten left a few little claw marks on Prue. Her kitten has since been adopted. Shes caring and intuitive. Eventually, once trained, she would be a good support dog for ADHD. Shes helped me a few times because of her intuition. She is kennel-trained, but not leash-trained. Sadly, I cannot continue to foster her because I have fibromyalgia, psoriatic arthritis, POTS, bipolar/adhd, PTSD. Shes around 50 lbs. and, physically, Im unable to train her or take care of her. Shes very playful, once she decides you are ok, but she will jump on you. She needs behavioral training

Story
Mildred was left in our neighborhood after hurricane Beryl. She is 3-5 yrs old and 45 lbs. She has been great with the 4 of us (two adults and two teens) and the two 25 lbs neutered male dogs. She is good on a leash and does well in the kennel. She is house broken. Her inner terrier has created some issues with our bunnies, and she has discovered that she can easily climb our 36" fence. She graciously accepts any petting or head scratches from anyone willing to approach her. I hope her new home would be a good family with taller fences.

Story
Meet our perfectly imperfect sharkboy, Roy! This goofy man has quite the personality - he's a friend to everyone he meets and is a certified staff favorite! Roy's silly overbite earned him his "sharkboy" nickname and makes his upside down snoring that much more endearing. Roy loves a good rope chew toy (he has many\) and is curious and investigative, despite being entirely smooth-brained. Roy is the very definition of FOMO - he doesn't want to miss out on anything! He would thrive in a home with another dog companion and a family who will include him in every adventure. Roy's previous owner tells us he is great on a leash and well-behaved and is just "the absolute best." Roy spends his days at the shelter in the office of our foster coordinator where he is spoiled rotten and enjoys napping in his oversized bed. Roy deserves only the best and we are desperate to find him the family he dreams of! Don't keep Roy waiting - make this derpy boy a part of your family today!
