Story
Bear is a super special pup. He is very shy and will likely always have a timid personality due to his early life and lack of proper socialization. He needs an owner with lots of patience that is just looking to help a dog with fear issues with new people. He does get attached to his special people as he is with his foster mom, but it can take some time to get there. He's a home body, loves to just play in his own securely fenced yard and he LOVES all other dogs. He would be a great companion for another dog and someone that lives a calm life. He would be too fearful of young children, but could befriend a teenager with a sweet nature. If Bear might find a special place in your compassionate heart, he'd love to join a family and put down some real roots. Email placement@duckteam6.org if you would consider giving Bear a chance.October 28, 2024, 3:31 pm

Story
Hi! My name is Jasmine! I'm a smart young lady who really enjoys spending time with her people. My ideal home would be one where I can spend a lot of time keeping my humans company where we can hang out or maybe take the occasional trip! I like some dogs but not all of them, so I would be happy in a home as an only dog. I have very polite house manners, I am crate-trained and house-trained. I like to look at things on the counter, but I won't touch them. Also, I like to do silly things like carrying my food bowl around. I am super smart and really like to learn new skills, especially tricks to make my people laugh out loud! I am active and need a good romp to get my sillies out. but I also am very good at relaxing and snuggling. I had hip surgery on April 19th, but I am doing great with my rehab and expected to make a full recovery! I'm a strong girl and I am still building up my leg muscles, but I will still occasionally bunny hop on my back leg. It doesn't hurt me, it's just a habit I developed before Duck Team 6 saved me. I am a sweet girl and I would love to find my "fur"ever home! January 29, 2025, 7:04 pm

Story
Cheerful, affectionate, intelligent, inquisitive, and spirited! Berniece is a young girl seeking a new foster family and eventually a forever home. In January 2024, during the bitterly cold days that made every breath painful, Berniece was found. Her survival was uncertain, but she persevered! Thankfully, a caring foster parent welcomed her, providing warmth, nourishment, and stability. Prior to joining her foster mom, Berniece seemed to have limited social exposure. She was apprehensive around other dogs, especially with her foster mom's three Great Pyrenees dogs. The eldest female, the alpha, was not receptive to a new young female in her domain. For the past three weeks, Berniece has been attending obedience camp, mastering good behavior commands, enhancing her social skills with other dogs, and improving her leash-walking abilities. She is now in search of a new foster home where she can apply her newfound skills and continue her journey towards becoming the best version of herself. Ideally, she would thrive as the only dog in the household, but if there's another dog, a calm and relaxed companion would be suitable. Duck Team 6 will continue to offer obedience training and support during this transition. Berniece is destined to become a devoted and wonderful companion for a fortunate family. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Berniece, please reach out to Duck Team Placement at placement@duckteam6.org.   January 29, 2025, 7:04 pm

Meet Cirrus! This lovable 1-year-old pit mix joined Duck Team 6 earlier this year after being rescued near the McKinney airport. Now fully vetted, neutered, and professionally trained, Cirrus is eager to find his forever home. At about 40 pounds, he’s on the smaller side but big on affection. Cirrus enjoys daily walks, playful yard time with his five furry foster siblings, and cuddles with his foster mom. He's great with people and kids, he's crate-trained and potty-trained. Ready to lounge or play, Cirrus is the perfect companion waiting to fill your home with love and happiness. January 29, 2025, 7:04 pm

Story
Meet Bernie! She is a gorgeous 7 year old pit mix looking for her FUREVER home! She has such a love for life and a desire to give so much love to those she interacts with! We rescued Bernie after she found herself as a stray at the local shelter and was going to be euthanized. She has been spayed, is in on monthly flea/tick/HW preventative, and gets weekly baths. She is prone to lots of skin issues and as a result would do best in a home environment and not a boarding facility with a foster or owner that is very attentive. Bernie has never let this little bump in the road stop her from enjoying her newfound freedom. She loves baths, treats, chew bones and will tell you when it's time to feed her as she is extremely food motivated! Bernie is an active girl who loves to go on walks and play with any toy in sight! When it is time to relax for the day, you can find Bernie cuddled up next to her humans begging for belly rubs, or chewing on a bone. She is crate trained and does well staying by herself if kept occupied with toys, bones or kongs. She will thank you with a big smile and unwavering loyalty! She takes weekly outings in public, rides great in a car, and is doing great socializing and working on a leash. Hold on tight if you see a squirrel though! While she is highly allergic to cats and cannot be in a home with them, she loves kids and humans! She likes other dogs of all sizes but requires a slow introduction to any canine companion as she enjoys playing gregariously. All Abandoned Pet Project Rescue adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise. Story
When Cocoa wanders up to you and rests her head on your lap, you'll know she's just about the sweetest mixed-breed brindle you've met. This three-year-old's big brown eyes will simply make you melt. Historically, Cocoa has been dog friendly, lived with kiddos, and a wonderful car companion. There's nothing more rewarding for her than spending time with people, and she'll follow you everywhere. She is a big fan of her toys and loves to play. Throw her kong and you'll see how playful she can be. Cocoa knows a couple commands such as "sit", "down", and even "here", (not that she needs a reason to come close to her favorite people!!) For those she hasn't met, starting with a treat is a sure-fire way to make fast friends with her as she is a foodie like the rest of us. Cocoa loves meeting new people and loves going on adventures. She also is comfortable just chillen' and hanging out around the house as well. Cocoa even has an Instagram! Story
Hercules is a 4 year old pitbull, i raised him until he was a year and half. Unfortunately he was stolen from my backyard and was missing for more than 2 years and out of nowhere got a call from the animal shelter that he had been found. During the time he was missing I inherited 3 dogs so I don’t have the room or time i once did. Sadly i lost my mother a year ago, and she was a huge help with the dogs which is also a factor. I just want to find a new nice home for Hercules and get him the attention he deserves. Preferably would be better if was the only dog in his new home, he has been with me since June and he shows no signs of being a aggressive dog. He loves his daily walks, has plenty of energy, and obviously strong fella.

Story
I'm Chaz's Foster Mom and I'd like to walk you through his perfect day. Chaz will give you the sweetest, wiggliest greeting as you approach his kennel door with his breakfast. He then likes a short run and exploration in the yard before turning in and rounding out his night’s sleep with a bonus morning nap. Afterwards, he loves to get haltered up for his morning walk. 20-30 minutes is long enough for Chaz. He’s pretty strong on leash, but nonreactive to other dogs which is nice. Later he’d love a car ride to anywhere, even the vet. (His vet reciprocates, everyone there loves Chaz!) Or a drive for a pupp-uccino, local coffee shop or just a spin around town. He’d then like more time in the yard to protect you from all the squirrels, lizards and butterflies. Before you know it, meal time again. In the evening he'd love to sit on the couch with you for some pets and good belly rubbin'! He flips on his back for you, while in a swaddle position to make this very easy. All the times inbetween, he'd really just like to be at your feet. When you are not home, he's very happy in his kennel. That's a perfect day for Chaz, and you don’t have to do it in that order or even fit all of that in daily of course. That's just a peek into what things could be like with this little guy. Chaz wanted to add a couple of things: I am small for my breed and am only 40lbs and my head is only 19in off the ground. I photograph big, but I think that's my smashing personality coming through. I sit on command AND I stay put too, until you release me with a "yes"! I also go to my kennel anytime you ask, but I could probably be free roaming doggie in a house if you let me. Yes, I do think I would like that. To top it all off, I'm playful and I like to retrieve a ball and play tug-o-war. I've been looking for a home since I was impounded at the shelter back in February 2024. That's a long time. I'd do anything for a home of my own!!! You can foster me or adopt me...just fill out the application and someone will take it from there. Signed, Chazzie ##1997426##

Meet Bella! A 7-year-old American Pitbull Terrier hailing from San Tan Valley, Arizona. Bella is looking for her next loving family, ready to accompany them on long walks, indulge in playtime, and engage in backyard running sessions. She thrives on being with her "people" and cherishes their company! When it comes to obedience, Bella is quite the scholar! She readily responds to commands such as sit, stay, come, dinner, treat, and many other words commonly used in daily conversations. Her eagerness to please makes training sessions a breeze! Bella is the epitome of a loving and loyal companion. However, it's essential to note that she cannot coexist with other dogs or cats. She has displayed aggression on two separate occasions, resulting in physical altercations with family dogs within the household. Therefore, caution must be exercised when introducing her to other canines. Despite her aversion to other animals, Bella has never shown aggression towards people. She is playful, devoted, and maintains a medium energy level. Her friendly disposition extends to strangers, and she is particularly good with children! Rest assured, Bella's vaccinations are up to date, and she has been spayed and microchipped for added security. If you're interested in learning more about Bella or considering her for adoption, feel free to reach out to us directly at adopt@joyfulpets.com. We'd be happy to provide you with further information about this wonderful companion! Also, Bella is open to a long-distance adoption—love knows no distance when finding your perfect companion!

COURTESY POST: Meet Rocky. He is a sweet boy who has been with his current caretakers for a long time. Rocky is a social butterfly and loves the company of cats, kids, and other dogs. He is currently in boarding and desperately needs a foster home or an adopter. Rocky is fully vetted and ready to go to his new home. Please consider giving Rocky a loving home. Rocky is about 4 years old and weighs 65 pounds. Please note that we don't recommend Rocky to families with children under 5. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Story
Diamond is a sweet, silly affectionate pup who is absolutely full of energy. Diamond is 3 1/2 years old and weighs about 50 lbs. She is a boxer mix with short straight red fur. I adopted Diamond in June from the SPCA after she spent the first 3 years of her life in the shelter. Due to how she spent the first part of her life, Diamond does have some anxieties and reactive behaviors. She does best with other dogs her size or bigger when we go to the dog park. Due to her excitability, she can be overwhelming for smaller dogs and sometimes gets a bit too rough with them. Diamond is not great with cats at all. Diamond loves people and children, but because of her size and strength, older children (over age 6 or 7) would probably be best. While she is high-energy, Diamond loves to snuggle and definitely thinks she is a lap dog. Diamond would do best in a home with a yard. She loves being outdoors and would stay out there all day if allowed. Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m having to rehome her due to my living and working situation and not being able to give her the amount of training and space she really needs to thrive. She needs someone who can train her well and who can address her reactive behaviors. Diamond really is a sweet dog who is great to snuggle up with. She just needs and deserves more than I can give her at this current time. Diamond is up to date on all shots through May 2025. She has been microchipped, spayed and is mostly house-trained (accidents still sometimes happen). This lovable, active pup is deserving of the perfect furever home. Could it be with you?
