My names Luna and I enjoy getting petted. Walks are great I like the exercise along with some play time. I`m a little sassy but it`s part of my charm. I`m playful and very outgoing but don`t let my looks intimidate you i just want some love and attention. A good play mate to take run with and wrestle. i swear I`m a good girl so come on down to the Alpine Animal Shelter on Old Marathon Rd, Alpine, Texas 79830 and see for yourself.

Story
Leo came into the shelter July 31st, found as a stray. Over 2 weeks later an owner surfaced but due to their past history with pets and financial issues, we convinced them to allow us to try and find a home for Leo through us instead. Leo has done very well in playgroups with other dogs. He loves to play. He seems a little shy at first, with people, but definitely warms up quickly. He walks really well on a leash and seems to be fairly potty trained; he keeps his kennel clean as long as he gets his potty breaks. One of our staff members stated that their favorite characteristics about Leo are his beautiful coat and his quirky personality.Come meet Leo at the Alpine Animal Services Shelter today, 2900 Old Marathon Hwy Alpine, TX 79830.

Story
Meet Bruiser!Bruiser is a 5-year-old Lab Mix who came into the shelter on November 14th after being surrendered. Bruiser had been in and out of the shelter between 2019-2020 due to his owner not being able to keep him in. He recently was rehomed outside of the shelter, but it just didn’t work out so alas, the poor guy is here again. It doesn’t seem to have discouraged him too much; he is still in good spirits and remains hopeful the right person is out there for him.Bruiser has shown to do ok with other dogs but does require his space, he is not a fan of another dog getting in his face to smell, lick or otherwise, who’s to blame him?!Bruiser is great with new people; he is friendly with everyone and is always excited to see you whether it has been 3 days or 3 minutes. He is a fantastic leash walker, no pulling and will go at whatever pace you choose.Bruiser knows commands! He can sit, shake paw and lay down. He is incredibly smart and an absolute joy to be around.Come meet Bruiser today at the Alpine Animal Services Shelter, 2900 Old Marathon Hwy Alpine, TX 79830.

Story
Meet Pip!Pip and his brother Ollie were unfortunately abandoned by their owner at their home November 11th. Pip had no worries right off the bat, he came in and was ready to start his new journey. Pip is always happy to see you and is good with kids.Pip has not been introduced to other dogs yet due to just being neutered but, he loves spending time with his brother and seems very interested in the other dogs he walks past on the way to the yard so, we are very hopeful he will do well.Pip will need some more leash training, he is getting better but, you can tell, he was never properly trained to do it. He does like a good milk bone so we believe this guy will be treat motivated to do just about anything. He is fairly potty trained from what we can tell, he keeps a clean kennel and will wait as best he can, for his turn in the yard. This big guy has puppy energy and is always up for play! Come meet Pip today at the Alpine Animal Services Shelter 2900 Old Marathon Hwy Alpine, TX 79830.

Story
Meet Ollie!Ollie and his brother Pip were unfortunately abandoned by their owner at their home on November 11th. While his brother Pip had no reservations about the change, Ollie was quite sad about being brought to the shelter. It took him about a week to finally gain up the courage to trust that everything was going to be ok, and he hasn’t looked back. This guy is flourishing!Ollie has only been introduced to one other dog, aside from his brother, but did fantastic! The dog was a lot smaller than him too. He does need some leash training, you can tell this guy hadn’t been taught what to do but, he is getting there. He is a fast learner and won’t turn down a milk bone as an incentive. Our Staff says they love how sweet he is and that he is always looking to play and get a pat. They also said that he likes hugs!Come meet Ollie today at the Alpine Animal Services Shelter, 2900 Old Marathon Hwy Alpine, TX 79830.

Story
Sweetie came into the shelter on January 22nd, found abandoned in the Country Club estates in Alpine, TX. She was found with her buddy Porky who we actually were not able to catch until a week after we got her. The dogs were very scared and had porcupine quills in their face, it was an urgent rescue for them both. It didn’t take Sweetie more than 24 hours to show us her true personality. She definitely lives up to her name. She loves to cuddle and enjoys the simple things in life like a comfy bed and warm sweater. Sweetie has done really well with our younger volunteers. We think that she would do just fine in a home with kids. Sweetie loves to meet new people and will go for a walk with just about anyone, she is great on a leash!Sweetie seems to be potty trained, it is rare that she has an accident in her kennel, she will wait, if she can, for her turn in the yard. She knows how to sit and is very treat motivated, I’m sure you can teach this gal just about anything. Our staff say that their favorite characteristics of Sweetie is that she is so sweet and loves to give and receive hugs. This girl is all about the love!Come meet Sweetie today at the Alpine Animal Services Shelter, 2900 Old Marathon Hwy Alpine, TX 79830.
