Story
Tulip is seriously the sweetest girl. She is so affectionate and loving. Although her face may seem somewhat like a Pit Bull, her body shape does not match that breed guess, so we really do not know what mix she may be. Whatever she is, she is going to make a wonderful addition to the family that gives her a home. Tulip was adopted more than a year ago, but through no fault of her own came back recently due to major life changes in the family. Because she lived with a family quite a while, they were able to give us great information about her. They told us she is housebroken, sleeps all night comfortably in her crate, and has had some leash training. She enjoys her walks and will take as many walks with you as you'd like to. She is starting to play with squeaky toys, alerts them when someone pulls into the driveway or knocks on the door. She is great with everyone in the family. She prefers to have some company, so a work from home family or maybe another canine companion would make her happiest. Her favorite things are belly rubs, a comfy bed and being inside with her people! Since Tulip came back, she has been in a doggy daycare/boarding facility waiting for the rescue to have room for her in a foster home. She is doing amazingly well there -- she goes out for doggy daycare daily and does great with all different dogs. She's great with all the different employees she interacts with as well. Oh -- and did we mention that she's beautiful? If you would like to meet Tulip, please email us at jojosdogrescue @gmail.com and we will send you an application, or download one from our website www.jojosdoghouse.com. Adoption fee is $150 and includes spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, and parasite treatment and prevention. Thanks for choosing adoption! Story
Located in Memphis, Tennessee but we do adopt out of state for the right fit. From Bonnie's foster mom: Bonnie is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever fostered. Everyone that has met her has fallen in love with her. She is a cuddle bug and a velcro dog. All she wants to do is be with her human. She enjoys dog chews, toys, and treats but her favorite thing in the world is attention from her human. She loves men, women, and kids. She is always happy, gentle, and appropriately behaved with whomever she meets. She walks well on a leash and really enjoys walking in the park. Bonnie loves car rides. She gets in the car well on her own, but is a little afraid when jumping out, probably due to her vision impairment. She is calm in the car and always falls asleep. She has done great with other dogs she has met in my home and at the shelter. However, she needs a patient dog because due to the lack of vision in her right eye, she tends to bump into other dogs when walking or playing. She seems to really enjoy following my dog around the yard and just doing whatever he is doing. Bonnie is a medium energy dog. She is very playful with other dogs and is also very vocal in her play. She doesn't always pick up on social cues from other dogs, but she does take corrections well. We would prefer for Bonnie to go to a home with another dog friendly dog. She loves the companionship and playtime with other dogs. She would not do well as an only dog. All in all, Bonnie is a wonderful, intelligent, social dog. She has so much love to give and is so deserving of a forever family that will return that love. Story
Location is Tennessee Tater is a sweet, chonky, loveable 3-year-old bully mix. The Good: Tater LOVES training and taking long walks. He has a great recall and is really good at ignoring other dogs and people on walks! He is crate trained and potty trained and loves to snuggle with his people. Tater gets SOOOO excited his whole body will wiggle, and yes, it is the CUTEST! Tug is one of his favorite games, and he loves playing with Jolly Balls & in his pool in the summer. I know it sounds like Tater is PERFECTION (we think he is!) but there are some really important things to know... Tater's Situation: Tater spent the last few years of his life living in a home with two other canine siblings. When Tater had access to ample exercise and socialization with humans (Tater could go to work with his mom!), he did well with the other two dogs. Unfortunately, due to unforeseeable changes in his mom's life, Tater was no longer able to go to work and longer work hours plus a new baby made exercising Tater & the other dogs extremely difficult. Tater and one of his siblings began to have conflicts that escalated to the point of it becoming an unsafe environment for Tater and his doggy sibling. As a result of all the changes in his world, he has become overstimulated with lack of enrichment and exercise. Resource guarding items, whether it is toys or food is a response Tater has developed to help himself feel safe. This is not an appropriate behavior, and Tater will need continued guidance getting back on track. Tater's Needs: Tater is NOT for a first-time dog owner. He needs an experienced dog owner who will be completely committed to his success. Tater needs plenty of exercise and enrichment to keep his brain engaged. We would consider a home with other dogs (max 2) with stable temperaments and plans to keep Tater and his siblings safe. We also do not recommend homes with young children (under the age of 13), because of Tater's history of resource guarding. Tater has had an evaluation from a trainer and a veterinarian who both believe Tater has the potential to shine in the appropriate home, but unfortunately everyone has given up on Tater thus far. If interested in Tater, please complete the following application: https://www.battleforthebully.org/adoption Please contact lovingthebullies@gmail.com with questions.

Story
Meet Hyacinth -- one of the puppies of the Bridgerton Litter pups! A mama and her five babies were left in a crate outside of animal control when the babies were only a few days old. Sadly, one puppy didn't make it. Animal control reached out to JoJo's and we took in mama and her four babies before the pups had their eyes open. We gave them a birth date of May 20, 2024. We do not know their breed for certain, but the older they get the more they look like Boxer/Bully mix to us. Mama Violet is brindle and white and looks like she has some hound in her, She is estimated to be 3-4 years old and weighs about 42 lbs, so we are guessing her puppies will grow up to be medium sized (50-60 lbs?) The puppies have been well-socialized since they were just a few days old and are all very sweet, friendly and playful. They also are absolute cuddlebugs and want a person or family of their own to love. They play great with other dogs. We do not know about cats, but they do not seem to have any noticeable prey drive and they have such mellow temperament, that we feel like they would be fine with cats. If you think you might want to give this sweet pup a home, please email jojosdogrescue@gmail.com and we will send you an application, or visit our website: www.jojosdoghouse.com and download one. Adoption fee is $250, which includes spay, up-to-date vaccinations, parasite treatment, and microchip with lifetime registration. Story
Meet Ivy: Your Future Best Friend! Ivy is a sweet and joyful dog who truly deserves a second chance at life. Rescued from the side of the road in poor condition, this brave girl has blossomed since being taken in. Initially timid, Ivy quickly warmed up to her new surroundings. She is fully vetted and spayed. We don't think she will get over 45-55lbs. She is less than 18' tall. This happy little lady adores attention, especially to be pet by anyone willing to show her some attention, and is always eager for a good treat, walk, or play session. Ivy is very inquisitive. She wants to know what is in every cupboard and box. She is always looking out the window or gate to see what is happening. Ivy walks beautifully on a leash, is crate trained, house trained and knows some basic commands. She is very smart and quick to learn. She knows how to wait, follow, and tap your hand for a treat. She is a jumper, so we continue to work on her jumping. She still chases the cat but has no intent of hurting them. She does not respond negatively when the cat corrects her. She continues to play with her foster sibling, which is a Golden, so a home with a playmate IS A MUST! She does have a high-pitched cry when she thinks she has been left behind. She grunts when she is happy. She has a lot of energy and is very sociable. She sleeps through the night. She sucks on her blanket when she sleeps. She snores at night. She even has the cutest burps after she eats too fast. Bonnie has adjusted well to home life and can navigate stairs with ease. Nothing phases her—not even the vacuum cleaner! Ivy has a healthy appetite (She even has the cutest burps after she eats too fast.) and enjoys car rides, making her the perfect adventure buddy. Although Ivy is a velcro dog and loves to be with her human, she would fit best in a home with a playmate. While she’s friendly with everyone she meets, Ivy would thrive best in a cat-free home. She would benefit from a fenced yard where she can play and run. Ivy leans against her foster mom's leg when she is working in the kitchen. She lays on her feet when she is sitting. She likes to snuggle on the couch. She is such a happy and affectionate dog. If you’re searching for a playful companion who’s ready to share love and create wonderful memories, Ivy is the perfect match for you! Story
Rocky is a great boy, fast learner and easy to please. Rocky is housetrained and would be great with older kiddos. He is very playful and walks relatively well on a leash. I wouldn't recommend him around cats or small dogs as he is a large boy. Rocky was pulled from an EU list by another rescue and abandoned in boarding since March. He is now in foster in Kentucky and is ready to prove what a great boy that he is. He gets along with other dogs of matching energies. he is somewhat energetic but also keep in mind he has been idle for months prior to me finding him abandoned. Foster to adopt is possible. Can be transported anywheres in the US included in adopt fee.
