Story
Blue is currently in a home, but his family is unfortunately being displaced and they cannot take him to their new place of residence. He is an absolute cuddle bug and loves all people, especially kids. He has a lot of energy, loves to play and take walks. He would be a great hiking buddy or an even better snuggle buddy! Blue gets along with other dogs, after proper introductions, but does not do well with cats. If you would like more information about Blue, or partner with us as a foster to ensure the will have a healthy future, please message Anderson County Animal Rescue Foundation or call Katrina at 865-414-2491.

Story
Hello! My name is Maggie Moo (Monroe), and I'm a 5-year-old, 40 pound, gray and white Pitbull. I have a bright and shiny personality that has never met a stranger. Everyone is my friend! I'm great with children and other dogs my size or larger. I do not do well with cats or small dogs. I'm crate trained, house trained, and good on a leash. I enjoy taking walks and will pull a little if I see people to say hello to and a bit more strongly if I see another dog to greet. Again, I’m a social butterfly. What can I say? I love playing with balls and other toys. Especially if there is a squeaker involved. I was found as a stray living in a cemetery in Humboldt, TN. When I was found, it was obvious from my underbelly that I had had several litters of puppies. None of my puppies were found with me. We think I may have been used for breeding and then dumped. I kind of look like a cow with my black and white moo design and my saggy underbelly. Which is why I am affectionally called “Maggie Moo”. I have some joint issues and arthritis. We are not sure if this is from overbreeding or perhaps other causes. The vet recommends managing signs of soreness or pain with occasional anti-inflammatory medications as needed and keeping me at a healthy weight. I do have a bit of separation anxiety and will need someone who can be patient with me especially for the first few weeks in your home until I can settle in and be more independent. I'm up to date on all my vaccinations, spayed and have been treated for heartworm disease. I'm currently being fostered in Franklin, TN, but I can be transported out of state for the right home. Please note, there is a transport fee. If you're looking for a sweet and social butterfly, I'm your girl!

Story
Hello, my name is DD. I was abandoned on a property by my previous owners. The actual homeowners took care of me for a while, but they wanted to give me a real chance at life instead of one on a chain behind their home. I am a petite shelter dog with a heart full of love, just waiting for the right family to give me a chance. Though I may be a little distrusting at first—an understandable reaction given my past of abandonment and neglect—I warm up quickly to those who show me kindness. My small size makes me a perfect fit for apartment living or for families seeking a smaller companion. Once I feel comfortable, I am incredibly affectionate and enjoy playful interactions with other dogs. I thrive in a social environment and would do well in a home with older children who can engage with me. If you’re looking for a loving and loyal friend, I could be the perfect addition to your family. Give me the chance I deserve! I am 33 pounds and 1 year old. I do appear to be full grown! I have been vaccinated, treated for internal/external parasites and have tested negative for heartworm disease. I am in Humboldt, TN but can be transported to other states. Please note, there is a transport fee.

Story
Hope is being fostered in LA. Hope is a sweet and happy girl. She does have some vision loss. Hope is fit, healthy and a very loyal pup full of energy and love. She is ready to fill your days with adventure and nights with cuddling. Hope is looking for a daytime exercise partner with whom she can run, play with toys, engage in games of catch, tug of war and sometimes long silly leaps just for fun. In the evening a snuggle buddy is in order so she can cuddle close with her head on the lap of her human. Hope is very loyal and loving to her person. This sweetheart is well behaved and very likeable. She does well on a leash and is really great about going to her kennel when asked. Hope enjoys meeting new people and they, her. She is so adored at the vets office that they treat her like the “Belle of the Ball” giving her all kinds of special attention and loving. Hope, with all her positive qualities is still a youngster and often doesn’t know her own strength, so she can sometimes play rough. Slow introductions would be best. She plays well with most dogs, but prefers unassertive canine friends and would do well in a home without small children or cats. (Transports within 18 hours travel time are available to approved adopter.) BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
RIcky is being fostered in Chicago. Ricky is the most perfect puppy you will ever meet! He was found abandoned on the side of the road and after being rescued it became clear he had some vision issues. His vision is severely limited, but he does not let that slow him down! He is the sweetest, smartest, most amazing puppy you will ever meet. He loves to go on walks, play with toys, and SNUGGLE!! He can navigate his foster home well and has mastered the stairs. He is crate trained, and almost completely potty-trained. You seriously could not ask for a better pup! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
See Courtesy Posting Disclaimer * 'Hey everyone! My name is Buddy! I'm a very distinguished gentleman who loves being coddled. I don't know a bad person, but I'm not a fan of other animals. They annoy me and always get in my bubble! I'm old and don't have a lot of history behind me, and I've been passed around a lot. I don't understand why... I go out of my way to be the goodest boy, yet here I am. I'm very quiet, I don't demand walks, I don't run away! In fact, I prefer being by my hooman and lounging around. I had recently found a family that seemed to love me, and I was really happy and relieved! However, my hooman became very frail and sick and started talking about having to put me in the pound! A friend of my hooman took me in to prevent me from going to that pound, and I thank her every day with my snorty kisses! I'm a very healthy 73-pound boy with some allergies and arthritis.... remember, I am old! My foster momma said I will go to my forever home with all the basics! A crate (which I don't need!), a bed, bowls and toys and a sweater... oh! And a huge bag of food! I would prefer a home with a big sunny yard, and I want to be the only furbaby! I do tolerate my current siblings, but that's only cause my foster momma is a firm woman that watches us like a hawk. She says all the time, 'You have manners, use em!' I do like to chew on things when I'm bored, but I won't chew on your things as long as you buy me lots of chew toys! ;) Won't you take me home? I'm in my golden years and I wanna settle in my furever home. I'll show you love like you've never known! I may not know a lot of cool tricks, but I know sit, and leave it, and wait! If you want to know more about me, don't be afraid to reach out to my foster momma! She can answer everything!' Buddy’s foster mom says: I don't want any money for the things going with Buddy, all I want is for him to be happy! I'm already in love with him and I know he will make someone very happy! I will be asking for a rehoming fee, which I plan to donate to SARG. I can't always answer my phone, but I always respond to texts when I'm available and I watch my emails constantly! Please reach out to me about Buddy anytime! My number is 865-202-7667 and my email is Illingworthlily@gmail.com. [Posted 7/22/2023] *Please be aware that this animal is a courtesy posting for the owner ONLY.
