Story
Located in Memphis, Tennessee but we do adopt out of state for the right fit. From Bonnie's foster mom: Bonnie is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever fostered. Everyone that has met her has fallen in love with her. She is a cuddle bug and a velcro dog. All she wants to do is be with her human. She enjoys dog chews, toys, and treats but her favorite thing in the world is attention from her human. She loves men, women, and kids. She is always happy, gentle, and appropriately behaved with whomever she meets. She walks well on a leash and really enjoys walking in the park. Bonnie loves car rides. She gets in the car well on her own, but is a little afraid when jumping out, probably due to her vision impairment. She is calm in the car and always falls asleep. She has done great with other dogs she has met in my home and at the shelter. However, she needs a patient dog because due to the lack of vision in her right eye, she tends to bump into other dogs when walking or playing. She seems to really enjoy following my dog around the yard and just doing whatever he is doing. Bonnie is a medium energy dog. She is very playful with other dogs and is also very vocal in her play. She doesn't always pick up on social cues from other dogs, but she does take corrections well. We would prefer for Bonnie to go to a home with another dog friendly dog. She loves the companionship and playtime with other dogs. She would not do well as an only dog. All in all, Bonnie is a wonderful, intelligent, social dog. She has so much love to give and is so deserving of a forever family that will return that love. If you can give the perfect home to Bonnie, please complete the application at the following link: https://www.battleforthebully.org/adoption

Story
Location is Tennessee Tater is a sweet, chonky, loveable 3-year-old bully mix. The Good: Tater LOVES training and taking long walks. He has a great recall and is really good at ignoring other dogs and people on walks! He is crate trained and potty trained and loves to snuggle with his people. Tater gets SOOOO excited his whole body will wiggle, and yes, it is the CUTEST! Tug is one of his favorite games, and he loves playing with Jolly Balls & in his pool in the summer. I know it sounds like Tater is PERFECTION (we think he is!) but there are some really important things to know... Tater's Situation: Tater spent the last few years of his life living in a home with two other canine siblings. When Tater had access to ample exercise and socialization with humans (Tater could go to work with his mom!), he did well with the other two dogs. Unfortunately, due to unforeseeable changes in his mom's life, Tater was no longer able to go to work and longer work hours plus a new baby made exercising Tater & the other dogs extremely difficult. Tater and one of his siblings began to have conflicts that escalated to the point of it becoming an unsafe environment for Tater and his doggy sibling. As a result of all the changes in his world, he has become overstimulated with lack of enrichment and exercise. Resource guarding items, whether it is toys or food is a response Tater has developed to help himself feel safe. This is not an appropriate behavior, and Tater will need continued guidance getting back on track. Tater's Needs: Tater is NOT for a first-time dog owner. He needs an experienced dog owner who will be completely committed to his success. Tater needs plenty of exercise and enrichment to keep his brain engaged. We would consider a home with other dogs (max 2) with stable temperaments and plans to keep Tater and his siblings safe. We also do not recommend homes with young children (under the age of 13), because of Tater's history of resource guarding. Tater has had an evaluation from a trainer and a veterinarian who both believe Tater has the potential to shine in the appropriate home, but unfortunately everyone has given up on Tater thus far. If interested in Tater, please complete the following application: https://www.battleforthebully.org/adoption Please contact lovingthebullies@gmail.com with questions.

Story
Meet one of the puppies of the Bridgerton Litter! This mama and her five babies were left in a crate outside of animal control when the babies were only a few days old. Sadly, one puppy didn't make it. Animal control reached out to JoJo's and we took in mama and her four babies before the pups had their eyes open. We gave them a birth date of May 20, 2024. Their adoptions were delayed while we treated them for ringworm (which is a fungal infection, not a type of worm, that puppies with weak immune systems are most susceptible to.) They have been treated for several weeks and are all doing great now. We do not know their breed for certain, but they look pretty Pittie. Mama Violet looks like she has some hound in her, She is estimated to be 3-4 years old and weighs about 42 lbs, so we are guessing her puppies will grow up to be medium sized (50-60 lbs?) The puppies have been well-socialized since they were a few days old and are all very sweet, friendly and playful. While they may not be fully house-trained, they are accustomed to using a doggy door to go outside and do their business, so they have a very good jump start on being housetrained. They will just need to learn to tell you how to let you know when they need to go out so if you are vigilant, finalizing their training should be very fast. If you think you might want to give this sweet pup a home, please email jojosdogrescue@gmail.com and we will send you an application, or visit our website: www.jojosdoghouse.com and download one. Adoption fee is $250, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, parasite treatment, and microchip with lifetime registration. Please visit our Facebook page JoJo's DogHouse (non-profit) to learn more about us and see many of the dogs we have rescued. We hope you'll join JoJo's family of adopters!

Story
Meet Ivy: Your Future Best Friend! Ivy is a sweet and joyful dog who truly deserves a second chance at life. Rescued from the side of the road in poor condition, this brave girl has blossomed since being taken in. Initially timid, Ivy quickly warmed up to her new surroundings. She is fully vetted and spayed. She’s currently undergoing treatment for heartworms but is thriving in her loving foster home. This happy little lady adores attention and is always eager for a good treat, walk, or play session. Ivy walks beautifully on a leash, is crate trained, and knows some basic commands. She’s well-adjusted to home life and can navigate stairs with ease. Nothing phases her—not even the vacuum cleaner! Ivy has a healthy appetite and enjoys car rides, making her the perfect adventure buddy. Although Ivy is a velcro dog and loves to be with her human, she would fit best in a home with a playmate. While she’s friendly with everyone she meets, Ivy would thrive best in a cat-free home. She would benefit from a fenced yard where she can play and run. If you’re searching for a playful companion who’s ready to share love and create wonderful memories, Ivy is the perfect match for you! Story
Allow me to introduce Daisy. She showed up at my 3rd floor apartment door on February 23rd during a rainstorm. She was cold, scared, and wet. I was able to earn her trust, get her warm and dry and finally in my home, where she immediately made herself at home on my couch. I took her around the next day to see if I could find where she belongs, posted on multiple socials and message boards, and took her get scanned for a microchip. All of that came up empty. She is now fully vaccinated and microchipped. Currently coming off of a bought of kennel cough and an absolute sweetheart. I have two cats that she keeps trying to get close enough to play with them, but they ain't having none of it. Quick Stats: - Roughly 50lbs & 1yr old - Thinks she's 15lbs and loves to cuddle - Gray with white paws and chest - Not spayed (if deal breaker, will make sure that is done before adoption) - Leash trained * - House trained * * mostly, any shortcomings here are on my, I'm not used to doggos.

Story
I found Russel outside of my job one evening along with another dog who I’ve since named Remy after seeing them pretty frequently. Decided to take them home as I try to help animals in need if I see it’s needed and I do love dogs. I quickly found out that I am in no position to foster any pet financially. I am just looking for a nice and peaceful place to rehome them as they seem to have had a rough upbringing. They do have a lot of energy and do tend to play a bit rough. They both seem to be about the same age that being anywhere from 7-10 months old if not a year. I don’t know exactly but they don’t seem to be any older than a year.

I got Arlo the first day of the pandemic national lockdown. He's become a great friend. He's 6 years old and now lives with my wife, baby daughter and I. Arlo is obedient, intellegent, empathic and nurturing. Super smart and human like. He is flexible. If you want to hike he's happy to do it. If you want to watch tv all day, he's happy to do it. I wish I didnt need to let him go but with a growing family and increased travel, its for the best.

Story
Toro is less than a year old (the vet thinks 7-8 months). He was found abandoned in our neighborhood. He loves affection and every person he meets! He is such a wiggle butt. He is super well behaved and would be great in an apartment or condo or a house with a backyard! He is full of energy when engaged but also very quiet and non destructive when left alone. He has been friendly with some of the other dogs he’s met but may need more socialization & training. He has only interacted with one cat while being with us leading us to think he may be best in a home without one. With some time and guidance he would make a well rounded & loving companion perfect for any adventure!

Story
Thor is an amazing loving Blue Nose Pit Bull. He likes to lounge around the house, but also loves playing catch and going for walks. If you’re looking for a chill dog, that wants to play when you do, Thor is an excellent choice. We don’t want to get rid of him, but we have an infant and now my wife is pregnant. We simply have too many bodies in a tight space.
