Story
Updated: 08NOV24 Breed: Terrier, American Pit Bull / Retriever, Labrador (a.k.a. the Ultimate Cuddle Monster) Age: 3 years (still thinks he's a puppy) Weight: 42 lbs (but feels like 84 lbs when he's snuggling) Neutered: Yes, but his charm is still intact! Vaccination Status: Up to date with vaccinations (and ready to take on the world... or at least the backyard) **Temperament** Ezra is an adorably mischievous puppy who has mastered the art of being a professional snuggler and belly rub enthusiast. His playful spirit is contagious, and he's always ready to make you smile. His foster mom says he's one of the best dogs she has ever had! **Socialization** As the star of adoption events, Ezra has quickly become a canine celebrity. Currently residing in a foster home with multiple dogs, he thrives on social interaction and is the life of the puppy party, always eager to play and make new friends. **Training** Ezra is house trained and has great house manners. Although he still thinks the couch is a trampoline, he is crate trained and only sleeps there when he's tired of being the center of attention. His housetraining is solid, though there might be the occasional "oops moment that adds to his charm. **Background** Rescued from a local shelter in mid-2022, Ezra narrowly avoided the dreaded "euthanasia list, and he's grateful for every belly rub he receives. He's living the dream in his foster home, convinced he's the best thing since sliced bread. Ezra is longing for a forever home where he can share his love and joy. **Black Dog Syndrome** Ezra is a proud black dog, and while he embodies all the love and joy that any dog can bring, he is often overlooked due to the common phenomenon known as Black Dog Syndrome. Many people have a bias against black dogs, often attributing negative stereotypes to them. However, Ezra is proof that a dog's color does not determine their worth or personality. He is loving, playful, and eager to find a forever home where his unique charm can shine. **Notes** Ezra is the kind of dog that can turn a boring day into a belly-laughing adventure. Always ready to play, cuddle, and grace you with his irresistible puppy eyes, he knows just how to say, "How could you possibly resist me!?!

Updated: 06NOV24 **Meet Moriah - The Playful Sweetheart!** Breed: Staffordshire Terrier Gender: Female Age: 4 months old Spayed: Soon to be spayed (because I'm too fabulous for puppies!) Vaccinations: Up to date (ready to party!) **Background** Hey, hooman! I'm Moriah, your soon-to-be favorite four-legged friend! I was discovered by the amazing Gladys, who found me running along Mt. Moriah like I was training for the Puppy Olympics. I was with what she thought was my brother, but he decided to audition for the role of "Most Elusive Pup and ran off into the woods. Lucky for me, Gladys is a superhero and brought me to safety. Now I'm in a temporary foster home, perfecting my puppy charm in hopes of finding my forever family! **Personality Traits** I'm super sweet and smart-think of me as the cute little genius of the dog park! I'm a professional toy destroyer and a certified expert in the art of "fetch-and-fetch-again. Playing with my foster dog pals is my favorite pastime, and I promise to keep you entertained with my adorable antics. Warning: excessive laughter may occur! **Socialization** I'm a social butterfly! I get along fabulously with other dogs, and I'm always ready to make new friends. Just call me the "Dog Whisperer of the pack! I'm still getting used to humans, but once I do, you'll have a snuggle buddy who thinks you're the best thing since squeaky toys! **Training** I'm eager to learn and ready to impress! With a sprinkle of treats and a dash of patience, I'll be mastering commands like "sit, "stay, and "why are you so lucky to have me? in no time. Did I mention I'm pretty good at puppy eyes? It's one of my secret training techniques! **Adoption Info** So, if you're looking for a sweet, playful companion to add some joy (and lots of laughter) to your life, I might just be your gal! More about my fabulous self will be coming soon, but I can't wait to find a loving family that's ready for some puppy shenanigans. Are you ready to welcome this little ball of joy into your heart and home?

Updated: 9DEC24 Meet Dyson (formerly Pythagoras) Breed: APBT/Staffordshire Terrier Mix Weight: 58 lbs Age: Approximately 1 year old Status: Available for pre-adoption **Background** Dyson's adventure began when he was picked up by the Memphis Police Department on November 14th. This big boy charmed the police officers so much that they decided to put him in the back seat of their squad car instead of taking him into custody. Rather than causing chaos, Dyson was just waiting for someone to rescue him and give him the love he deserves. After being transferred to MAS (Memphis Animal Services), he was pulled from the critical list by Team Memphis Rescue, who recognized his potential as a lovable companion. **Personality** Dyson is the quintessential gentle giant! With his mellow and easygoing nature, he’s a blend of playfulness and relaxation. He is very friendly and enjoys engaging with people. However, his compatibility with family dynamics and other dogs is still to be determined, so a meet-and-greet would be essential to see how he interacts with potential family members and furry siblings. **Stay Tuned!** Keep an eye out for more information as Dyson’s journey continues. Updates on his progress and any new developments will be shared, so you can see how this lovable pup is doing on his path to finding a forever home. If you have any questions or need assistance in the meantime, feel free to reach out!

She has been in a foster home and they said "she will make a wonderful addition to a home with a big family, children, but no other dogs or cats. She has an extremely loving personality to everyone and really does think she is lap dog! Her favorite place to be is right beside you on the couch! She loves being around a big family so she has lots of love, play, and a stimulation to tire her out for bedtime. I have never seen a dog be so appreciative of what she has. She is the happiest dog ever and just wants a warm couch and a human to kiss!"Dixie Chick is eligible for our Senior Dog Adoption Reimbursement Program! Story
***FENCED YARD REQUIRED***Stone was found standing in the middle of a road by a kind man. He immediately contacted us because Stone had numerous scabs, open wounds, hair loss and scars all over his head, legs and body. Both of his front legs were swollen. His tail and one of his legs had been broken. He was in horrible condition! We got him to the vet as soon as possible and discovered one of his front legs was possibly fractured recently. He was also loaded with parasites. Due to the location and shape of some of his scars, our vet told us he was probably a "bait dog", meaning dog fighters used him as bait to train the fighting dogs. Despite his condition and his past, Stone is so sweet to everyone!! Our staff and volunteers have been giving him so much love and attention, and he is definitely enjoying his new life. He loves to go on walks and get out some of his energy. Stone is very dog selective, so it would be best for him to be the only dog in the home. He wants all the love for himself!!Stone's date of birth is 12/6/2017 and he weighs about 50 pounds.Stone spent some time in a foster home and his foster mom told us this about him, "Stone is so gentle and kind. He walks well on a leash, takes treats really gently, and is just a calm, quiet boy."All of our rescues are rehabilitated and once healthy are available for an adoption fee of $95 for cats and dogs.
