Story
Meet Gemma! This squishy, playful cuddlebug is one of those dogs that is hard to put into words just how perfect and loving she is! Gemma is in foster care, and her fosters describe her as "a true GEM." "She has two modes," her foster dad says: "Fetch and sleep." Gemma is obsessed with tennis balls and could chase them for hours. But once the toys are put away, she'll happily lay in your lap and cuddle like it's her job! Gemma's fosters say that she is loyal and attentive, driven and friendly, smart and inquisitive. She is social with other dogs her size or larger, but can be very forward, which not all dogs appreciate. She does not get along with small dogs. She's responsive to commands, is housebroken, and a huge snugglebug. Her wiggly butt puts a smile on everyone's face when she comes to greet you! Gemma is waiting patiently for a home to call her own. She would do best in a household without young kiddos, but older kids/teens would be just fine. She would be perfect for a mildly active family, or at least someone willing to play fetch with her a few times a day to burn out her energy. She loves her outdoor time and taking walks. She is an "easy'' walker. She's a fantastic dog, just waiting on the right someone to come along. Turns out she's a big college basketball fan, too. Bet on Gemma, she's a winner!

She gets along with other dogs well. She will love anyone who wants her.

Story
Sasha came to us during a severe cold snap last December. She was lost but she was more lost than we knew. We found the people responsible for her but they no longer wanted her. Sasha had belonged to a man she had spent her entire life with. Unfortunately he had died. She was then given to his brother and sister in law who just threw her outside into a pen. Sasha easily escaped but she was properly secured because they didn't want her to begin with. We can tell from the things Sasha likes to do that her person did everything with her. She loves to ride, share meals, sleep on the couch and just pal around with her person. Right now she is having to live in our outside kennel alone in a run. She is very unhappy but has settled into a routine. Sasha is not a fan of other dogs or cats. She got out the other day and went next door to swim in the ducks pool. She didn't bother the duck or the chickens fortunately. She would be a great companion for an over the road truck driver, single older man or couple. She loves everyone she meets and happy to go along with just about anything your doing. Sasha is being treated for heartworm disease and we hope to see her negative within the next couple of months. Her treatment has been done all ready and she would just need to continue on prevention as all dogs should.

Story
This is Crater. My best friend and an excellent companion. It is with great sadness that I have to rehome him, but I know he can be happier somewhere else where he can release all his energy. He loves to play and go hiking. He is incredibly loyal to people that take care of him and will be a great companion for anyone that can love him the way I have. He is well trained on basic commands. He needs to live somewhere that has a yard he can play in. He doesn’t like being bound to a leash so off leash time it’s important. He loves to play tug of war and his own version of fetch. He loves to snuggle and sit with his people. With his rehoming fee I will be supplying his food, toys, crate, leash/harness, and his flea and tick medicine. I love him so much and want to see him go to a home that will provide for him and love him.

Story
Arizona is a large chestnut brindle LOVER with extraordinary ears who is so ready to go home with the perfect family for her. Her ideal family is active, loving and experienced with high-energy dogs. Arizona loves walking, running, playing, swimming and go, go, going with her favorite humans. She thrives in a well structured environment with a solid routine. She is sweet, affectionate, a great listener and gives the best kisses. Arizona is the longest resident dog at HES, but in all of her time here she has gotten to learn so many new skills and tricks while she waits for the right family for her. She is now the most classically obedient dog around. She will gladly show off how she can sit, stay, down, heel, go to bed and shake hands. She is amazing on a leash and loves to play with discs and Jolly Balls. She is house broken, does well in a crate and enjoys car rides. She's great at learning new tricks too so we hope you are ready for some fun! This sweet baby girl needs extra training and tlc when meeting new people and controlling her reactivity. She doesn't love strangers and isn't a fan of eye contact from people she doesn't know. She can get vocal when she's scared. Arizona can do great with other dogs, as long as they are the right fit for her fun loving, outspoken, rowdy play style. No cats or children please. To make sure that Arizona's transition to her forever home is smooth sailing Dog Wizard of Chattanooga will offer free training classes for her and her forever family.

Trixie is 6 years old but she has more spunk and energy than a lot of pups half her age. She is always excited about meeting people, making friends, and getting lots of love. She is a strong, energetic girl who would probably enjoy a home where she gets lots of physical and mental exercise.
