Story
In late November, nine adorable puppies, approximately five weeks old, were rescued from Memphis's cold, scary streets alongside their beautiful black-and-white pittie mom. Now safe, warm, and thriving in a loving foster home, they’re soaking up all the love, care, and snuggles they can get. These pups are growing up surrounded by other dogs, curious kitties, and lots of human affection, making them well-socialized and ready to become cherished members of their future families. While their dad(s) are a mystery, their personalities are already shining bright! We hope to bring these sweet babies to New England by the end of December, just in time to find them foster and forever homes. If you want to add a playful, cuddly, and loving companion to your family, one of these pups could be your perfect match!Breed: Pit Bull Terrier/CrossbreedAge: 6 weeks as of 12/7Weight: Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforced.Vaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date - all vaccinations required after adoption are the responsibility of the adopter.Heartworm: Too young (testing is done at 6 months of age)Housetrained: Not usuallyMicrochipped: YesLocation of dog currently: Memphis but they will arrive to New England prior to adoption.Puppy Adoption Fee: $550.00 (includes a spay/neuter surgery rebate to be paid to the adopter when proof of spay/neuter is provided to Paws New England). We can provide adopters with a list of low-cost SN clinics when requested. The adoption fee also includes the transport fee.ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS: You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience. This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact. PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England. Story
Meet Gracie.....truly a brave survivor. This awe-inspiring girl has such a heartwarming story of courage and perseverance. Gracie spent an incredible 555 days surviving on her own before being successfully trapped by Missing Dogs of MA. She has since started to blossom during her time in a loving foster home, where she’s been given the care, patience, and training to rediscover her confidence and trust in people. Gracie is a shy dog with soulful eyes that will capture your heart in a second. While she takes time to warm up to new faces, her sweet and gentle nature shines through once she feels safe. She lights up around other dogs, so having a furry sibling or two to learn from would be ideal. While on the run, it was believed that Gracie was hit by a car and injured her hip. She underwent a successful femoral head ostectomy (FHO). She’s been making incredible progress with physical therapy and is expected to make a full recovery. She will enjoy an active, pain-free life. Gracie has been working on basic commands, leash walking, and learning to trust humans. Her foster family has done an amazing job helping her come out of her shell, and she’s now ready for the next chapter of her journey. This girl thrives in a calm environment where her people understand her need to adjust at her own pace. Her adopters will need patience and understanding that Gracie is not (yet) a pooch that will jump on the couch and cuddle next to you. Given her history, a securely fenced yard is a must to ensure her safety and provide her a space to explore confidently. Gracie’s journey has been remarkable, and she’s ready to give her heart to a family who will love her unconditionally. Could you be the one to show this amazing pup that she’s finally home?Name: Gracie - Roxy the TravelerBreed: Pit Bull TerrierSex: FemaleAge: 3 years  (estimated)Weight: 48.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Yes, Older, quieter dog-savvy children over 12Good with Dogs: Yes, needs a confident canine companion!!Good with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $500.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently: New EnglandIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher.
