Story
Meet Rhea, an adult pup with a big heart and lots of love to give. She's incredibly affectionate and loves being around people—happiest when she’s by your side, soaking up all the attention she can get!Rhea was an owner surrender due her owner's loss of housing.Rhea is very food motivated, which makes him a quick learner and a great candidate for training. She’s still working on her manners and could use a little guidance, but with her love of treats, she’ll catch on quickly with consistent training and a patient owner. She’d do best in a home where her people will have time to spend with her. Poor sweet Rhea came to us needing to have an emergency surgery to fix a prolapsed vulva. She also was ‭suffering from a skin infection on her back which caused her to lose‬ some of her fur. Right now Rhea is currently healing and getting‬ better. Her fur is starting to grow back nicely, showing her beautiful‬ brown coat. She has adorable white patches on her stomach, paws,‬ and on the top of her nose, which bring out her precious brown eyes.‬‭ Even though she is just endearing, her looks are just a bonus for her‬ beaming personality. She does well with children, cats, and other‬ dogs. Rhea loves to show her affection with her actions. Rhea‭ does not do well in a crate, so we would recommend that you start with‬‭ a soft dog bed. This girl is very food motivated, so you can train her‬ easily with treats. She loves to play ball and run outside with humans,‬ so we would love for her to have with a home with a yardRhea follow‬s you around no matter where you are. And, as you can see/hear, she is professional snorer....LOLhttps://youtu.be/beBtZWJdKp0?si=vYPlpPHRLe5m4N15 During the autumn months she‭ loves to play around in the leaves. She is very sweet, loves‬‭ everyone she meets and her playful personality will keep you laughing and brighten your days. Even though her life is still unfolding, she may‬ be the beauty you have been looking for. Just a loyal, loving companion who’s eager to learn and ready for a fresh start.Name: RheaBreed: Pit Bull Terrier/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 4 years (estimated)Weight: 63.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: Yes! saying over 5, because she is still a bit excitable and jumpy; could topple over small toddlers.Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $350.00Location of dog currently: Connecticut IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England. Story
Meet Zeke, a loving, extremely smart, loyal companion who lives for neck scratches, treats and car rides! He is a kind & playful boy who will do anything for baby carrots, his favorite treat. He is known to “smile” big when he sees his favorite people, followed by a booty shake to show his excitement.  He loves meeting new people, but prefers to give them a few sniffs before going in for full pets. Zeke was adopted as a puppy from a rescue in Memphis by a retired couple and their adult son with special needs, who Zeke was extra gentle with! He instantly became a beloved part of the family. After the unexpected passing of his owner and the addition of a newborn into the home, Zeke has had a tough time adjusting to all the changes. He adores the older grandchildren but was overwhelmed by the new infant. Therefore, Zeke would thrive best in a home with any adult or a family with older children. Zeke has not lived with another dog, but did fine in doggy daycare and being boarded.Zeke is fully crate trained, house trained and has good manners. He does well with commands sit, lay down, “go to his bed (crate)”. Zeke loves food and has been known to steal a treat off the counter a time or two, but now he puts himself in his crate when you start to cook so he can keep his good boy status! He is also crated when left alone in the house and does just fine!!He is a happy, loving boy who is really low maintenance as he doesn’t require a ton of exercise. Short walks, snuggles, baby carrots and love is all this boy wants and needs. In return you will get a true BFF.Name: ZekeBreed: Pit Bull Terrier/CrossbreedSex: MaleAge: 6 years  (estimated)Weight: 50.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 5Good with Dogs: Yes, at daycare and boarding.....Has not lived with another dog in his house.Good with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $500.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently: TennesseeIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Meet Penelope, a stunning gray beauty with a heart as big as her smile! This sweet girl absolutely adores everyone she meets and enjoys making new doggie friends on her leash walks. While she’s great at socializing outdoors, Penelope would thrive as the only dog in her home, where she can soak up all the love and attention. She’s not a fan of dog parks, and we don't recommend them anyway—they’re best avoided for your dog’s health and well-being.Penelope’s journey has been one of resilience. She came into someone’s yard with a skin infection, swollen paws, and signs that she’d been a mama to several litters. But now, with healing care, her paws are strong, her skin is glowing, and she’s blossomed into the happiest, most affectionate girl.Penelope is crate-trained and has excellent house manners—no accidents here! She’s also a dream in the car, sitting patiently and always ready for the next adventure. Her medium energy level makes her adaptable; she’ll enjoy exploring on walks, then happily settle in for some downtime with you.Check her out on a stroll:https://youtube.com/shorts/J9KfgAq0EFM?feature=shareAnd don’t miss her adorable blocky head with that quirky ear that has a personality of its own—she’s pure charm from head to paw! If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion for life’s adventures and cozy nights, Penelope might be your perfect match.Name: Penelope (Local)Breed: Pit Bull Terrier/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 5 years  (estimated)Weight: 52 lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Neg on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 12Good with Dogs: Not in the home - outside for walks on leash etc she's great!Good with Cats: Not tested Adoption Fee: $450.00 (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  New EnglandIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England. Story
Meet Hercules!!! Truly just an all around great dog! This handsome hunk gets along well with other dogs, doesn’t mind cats and is great with children of all ages. Hercules was an owner surrender to no fault of his own. He has suffered from seizures and his previous adopters did not practice safe measures with him, allowing him to wander the streets aimlessly after his episodes (so awful for him). He was finally surrendered and now resides in a southern foster home, where he is thriving. He is currently on medication that controls his seizures and it has worked very well, he rarely has a seizure now.Herc has such a loving calm personality and is quite the snuggle bug, he loves to share the couch. He is both house and crate trained and loves to ride in the car. This boy will be a wonderful addition to your household.Name: HerculesBreed: Pit Bull TerrierSex: MaleAge: 6 yrs 5 months est 11/4/24Weight: 74 lbs on 11/4/24Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Positive on recent testing he is already on pre-treatment and will soon be ready for the necessary care.
