PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 10/27 STILL AVAILABLE 10/16/24 Vega! She is a sweet, typical, playful puppy who is looking for her forever home! She is about 5.5-6 months old. Her mama is only 30 lbs and a pit mix. Good with other dogs, kids, and is fostered with a cat (who she tries to play with). Vega is almost fully potty trained. She loves all kinds of toys, especially playing tug with rope toys. She walks pretty well on a leash, calmly meets other dogs, she’s a bit shy with strangers but warms up quickly with treats! We are working on people aren’t chew toys! She loves to run around and play, but plays with toys by herself too. She does great in a crate when we are away. She barks but isn’t a “Bob Barker”!   Let’s find this baby a home of her own! Spayed, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. In the northeast.   To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 Message or email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. He is so beautiful with his muscular build and slick coat. Shadow is an owner surrender, through no fault of his own. His former owner was going through some very difficult life events and just was not able to keep him any longer. Shadow is 2 years old, 55lbs, and fully vetted. He gets along good with other non dominant dogs. He is also very good with kids. He is not a good candidate for a home with cats. He is housetrained and walks on leash but needs to learn better leash manners because he does pull. He is loving and friendly with everyone he meets. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. Update 10/23 Zara started at the Paws in Prison program on 10/23/24. While there, she will work daily with an inmate on the basics and maybe even a few tricks, and  meet weekly with a dog trainer. In about 8 weeks she will graduate with her canine good citizen certificate and will be ready to go to a new home! 10/10 Still available! 8/29/24 This is Zara. She is a pit bull mix. She was born 12/1/2023. She has lived outside until a couple weeks ago when she was rescued. She is very much still a puppy and learning that not everything goes in her mouth. She is a very sweet girl and loves all dogs. She hasn’t met a cat up close, but showed no interest in the cat that lived outside at her former home. She is fully vetted and ready to go. She is potty-trained and crate-trained, but will need someone who is patient to work with her on mouthing. She would do best in a home with at least one other dog as a playmate. She has a lot of energy, but will cuddle in bed with you at night. Zara can be adopted or fostered in Arkansas or in the northeast. She is about 6 months old and weighs 25 lbs. She was rescued from an abusive situation by a woman who can barely care for herself. When Charlie was rescued, she had a cut across her back, from armpit to armpit. The cut has healed, but Charlie still has a little bit of a scar. Charlie is so loved now that I hope she doesn’t remember that trauma. She is good with dogs and cats, crate-trained, and doing well in potty-training. She is fully vetted, including spayed, and ready to go. She is still a puppy with puppy energy, but she can also be a snuggle bug. We do not know her breed, 100% mixed is the most likely bet.
