Story
Meet the Cats of Gettysburg at the Kitty Corner by Forever Love Rescue Star is a 85 lb pitbull that is very loving and affectionate. All she wants is to be loved back.Star would do best in a home where she is the center of attention. Loves to play and lounge on your lap like a couch potato as often as possible. No personal space with this girl; yearns for attention. Her foster recommends older children due to her size (85 lbs) or seniors with bully breed experience.   *** a courtesy post means that this dog is NOT part of Forever love Rescue.   We are trying to help a fellow rescuer find a home for this dog.   We accept the adoption application and do some basic checks for them and then all communication will be handled by them afterward.   We do not attest to the information they provide or to the health / vet care of the cat.   Specific questions about this dog should be emailed to us at foreverloverescue@gmail.com so that we can forward it to the appropriate person.Meet the #CatsOfGettysburg - Apply to adopt at bit.ly/AdoptFLR and we will help you find the purr-fect kitty for your family!  Visit dozens of our adoptable cats and kittens at our Kitty Corner adoption center 39 Queen St in historic Gettysburg PA on any Saturday or Sunday from 11am-3pm.  All of the cats listed are located in or near Gettysburg unless otherwise noted. Story
Meet the Cats of Gettysburg at the Kitty Corner by Forever Love Rescue Hailey is an extra large pitbull. She is very friendly and playful. She seeks love and attention. Hailey due to her size would not be good with young children or frail adults. She would be okay in a home with older, considerate children. She is 90 lbs. She loves to snuggle/sleep on couch with you, but does snore at times. She would do well with another dog w/proper introduction. Hailey is interested in cats but would chase them so no cats in her new home. *** a courtesy post means that this dog is NOT part of Forever love Rescue.   We are trying to help a fellow rescuer find a home for this dog.   We accept the adoption application and do some basic checks for them and then all communication will be handled by them afterward.   We do not attest to the information they provide or to the health / vet care of the dog.   Specific questions about this dog should be emailed to us at foreverloverescue@gmail.com so that we can forward it to the appropriate person.  Meet the #CatsOfGettysburg - Apply to adopt at bit.ly/AdoptFLR and we will help you find the purr-fect kitty for your family!  Visit dozens of our adoptable cats and kittens at our Kitty Corner adoption center 39 Queen St in historic Gettysburg PA on any Saturday or Sunday from 11am-3pm.  All of the cats listed are located in or near Gettysburg unless otherwise noted. Story
Meet the Cats of Gettysburg at the Kitty Corner by Forever Love Rescue Meet Angel! Could she be your one and only??? This sweet 3 year old pittie girl almost lives up to her name every minute as long as there's not another pet around. We aren't sure if she would be aggressive per-say but she does get extremely anxious around other dogs.  Small dogs and cats seem to be a no-go at all.  Due to these anxieties, we recommend a home with a fence where she can't see neighbors and roaming critters.  Because of her strength she would be safer in a home without young kids that she could knock down.  We would love to find her a home where she can shine! She is a total couch potato most of the day.  She does love her toys and her babies (stuffed animals) and will play with them in the yard or the house whenever the mood strikes. She loves to go on car rides and on quiet walks. She has no problem hanging out at the office all day and greeting random visitors. And she is the best snuggler at night! We keep saying that she would make an awesome companion for a truck driver!!! She loves food, treats and toys. She does almost anything on command. She enjoys a quick trot through the privacy fenced yard but quickly comes back to follow her new temporary momma around while she does chores. She is content to be almost anywhere her people are but also behaves while they are away if she feels safe and cozy where she is. She also has no problem jumping into an open crate for a nap, so we think she is crate trained too. For more info please email foreverloverescue@gmail.com Let's find Angel the home she deserves!!!  Apply to adopt at https://foreverloverescue.com/dog-adoptionfoster-application/Meet the #CatsOfGettysburg - Apply to adopt at bit.ly/AdoptFLR and we will help you find the purr-fect kitty for your family!  Visit dozens of our adoptable cats and kittens at our Kitty Corner adoption center 39 Queen St in historic Gettysburg PA on any Saturday or Sunday from 11am-3pm.  All of the cats listed are located in or near Gettysburg unless otherwise noted. Story
Hello! My name is Allie, and wow, have I got a story to tell you! I used to live in a nice home with a nice family. They didn`t have me spayed, so I got pregnant. That was the beginning of all the trouble...I had a BIG litter of puppies and everything was fine. Then I got an infection, and it became very painful for me when the puppies were nursing. Because of that, I would push them away, and sometimes I got a little rough with them. I didn`t mean to, but it hurt and I didn`t want them near me!My Mom reached out for help, and the shelter took us in. When they saw how sick I was, they put me in a separate area until I felt better, and fed my puppies for me. I was sad that I couldn`t help, but I was glad they were doing good. Before long, the puppies were old enough to find their forever homes, and that`s just what happened. I was happy that all of them went to good homes. Now it`s my turn!I can be shy around new people at first, but once I know you, I`ll be your best friend. I`m cautious around men, but I think I could learn to trust them if they`re patient with me. I think older, respectful children will be OK in my new home, but I don`t think I`d like them to chase me or try to ride on me. Riding is for horses, not dogs. If you already have a dog in your home, I`d like to meet him or her to be sure we can get along. I could probably live with a cat or two, as long as they`re nice to me.I`m pretty much housebroken. That`s good, right? Humans seem to appreciate that I go potty outside, so I`ll keep doing that. I`m food motivated too (I love treats!), so training me to do fun tricks should be a breeze.I enjoy a nice walk, and I`m pretty good on a leash. I might even enjoy running in a fenced yard or in the dog park. Since I`m only a year and a half old, I might find my playful self if someone would just spend some time with me and show me how to play. After a day of walks and play, I`d like to spend a nice, quiet evening with my people. We could curl up on the couch and just enjoy each other`s company. I`ll sleep in your bed if that`s allowed, but if not, I`ll be just as happy on my own bed.If you think I would make a perfect companion for you and your family, submit an adoption application to the shelter. Be sure to put my name at the top of the application so they know you want me! I hope we can meet soon, so we can start living our best life together.

Story
We got Nerf from BARCS on Halloween this year and we love her so much. The only problem is she really is not adjusting to living with another dog and we think she would have a better quality of as an only pup. She has a tendency to be destructive when left alone, and was having accidents in the house but we believe we have that handled now. Nerf and our first pup have not been getting along which has now escalated to some fights that we now feel make it tough to keep her. We just want a loving single dog home for her and will send her with everything we have for her. She is on anti anxiety meds from the shelter which we haven’t weaned her off yet because we didn’t-feel we had her long enough to do so. She really would be the perfect girl for us if she was our only girl. But our boy and her just don’t get along. This is an urgent ask to rehome, and we are just asking for a rehoming fee.

She loves to jump and do anything else she can to get your attention. All she wants to do is play! She loves balls of all kinds, and will spend hours in a fenced yard playing fetch and running and chasing soccer balls. Lillie loves socks, dirty socks, clean socks, socks fresh out of the package, she is obsessed with socks. She is very smart and treat motivated. She has learned a number of commands since she has been in her current home .  Lillie is completely housebroken, and is very willing to get in her crate whenever she needs to. Her family has worked on leash walking, and she does best with a harness. Lillie is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.  Lillie prefers to be the only dog, getting all of the attention, and does not like to share her People or her toys. PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW. Homer is a lovable, snuggly pit with a lot of energy still at 7 years old. He knows basic commands (sit, lay down, stay, come, shake), is used to leashed walks, and loves cuddling on the couch or bed with his humans. He also enjoys giving kisses, scratches behind his ear, belly rubs and playing with toys (although you’ll need indestructible toys haha). Homer is used to being home during the day while we go to work, and he doesn’t have any issues being left alone during the workday. He is up to date on shots and neutered. We can provide a dog bed, food, bowls, leash, etc.    Homer would need to be the only animal in the home (dog reactive most of the time after 10 minutes or so of meeting but can pass them on the street during walks unless they lunge at him), no cats (or would likely be fine with a cat that keeps to itself) and no kids due to resource guarding and a bite incident. The two bites were not large and required glue but not stitches and were related to resource guarding.    A potential adopter would need to have knowledge (or willingness to learn) of resource guarding and the capacity to properly manage it. However, Homer is a sweet dog 99% of the time but just needs an environment suitable to not trigger his resource guarding, which I believe he will thrive in. We have done training through K9 Koncepts, which is supposed to be open for the entirety of Homer’s life, so we could potentially transfer that over to the adopter for free, if interested and after contacting K9 Koncepts to make sure that is a possibility. If you are interested in adopting Homer, please contact:Erica.  email: Erica.cranford11@gmail.com  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 5:13 pm

Story
Meet Cara, a sweet 4-5 year old, gorgeous brindle girl, a total 'love bug' that knows basic commands, who really is her name defined: friend, loving, dear one, darling, and beloved.Cara asked us to share the following with you:'...I know it is surprising that someone like me, well-mannered and knowing basic commands, was found as a stray and no one came to get me. Don't feel sad for a minute. I am a 'glass overflowing' gal. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and my FURever family will find me through this bio. I know it. I feel it in my perfect brindle body.No one wants to brag but I LOVE MY HUMANZ. I never met one I didn't love. Due to the language barrier and the fact that I cannot speak English YET, they aren't sure how I would do in a house with other dogs, but I do seem dog friendly here with the dogs I have met. Cats, well, while they are 'cute,' they are not my thing. I find their slick and quick movements to be a little 'much' for me.I love walking. I love smelling grass. I love relaxing and love nothing more than cuddling up to you and listening to your heartbeat. I am adventurous yet love a lazy Sunday. I am active yet love snoring contests. I love treats and I am eager to please & learn. I love squeaky toys and I love water!Like most humans, I love to hear myself talk/bark, let's just combine the words to create a new word 'tark.' I love tarking in the car. Put on your favorite tune and we can tark together. My vocals have been compared to the legendary Janis Joplin. I have a 'horse' tark so it is sweet and cute. I don't try to be cute, but it does come naturally for me.Again, I am not trying to be conceited but I need you to be able to get the full picture here, I have been called a 'volunteer favorite (don't tell the others on my block),' have EARS for YEARS, the cutest brindle butt (whatever that means), and eyes that will melt your soul.I am ready to find my FURever family and love them more than they knew possible. If you are interested meeting or adopting the (perfect) me, please go to our website: www.crcpa.org. Unconditionally yours, Cara...'
