Story

Izzy is a very friendly dog, an American Pit Bull Terrier mix, around 2 years old. We received a call from the local sheriff’s dispatch seeking our assistance in rescuing an abandoned Pitbull in rural Tennessee, and that's how we found Izzy. Despite his rough past and neglect, Izzy's gentle demeanor shines through. We've taken Izzy under our wing, with plans to provide him the care he deserves. He's been neutered, vaccinated, received flea/tick prevention, and microchipped. He's good on the leash but pulls a bit, and he's a decent traveler in the car. He is crate trained. Izzy is sweet and good-natured, good with kids, dogs, and small dogs, but not at all fond of cats. He's very needy but understandable. Weighing about 45 pounds, he's a smart, independent, and gentle companion who's happiest being with you, whatever you're doing. However, Izzy is a bit of an escape artist and can tear up regular kennels. So, he'll need an indestructible crate with heavier bars. Despite his knack for getting out, Izzy will bring endless love and happiness into your life, always eager to be by your side. Please send a request for an application to fill out. Story

Ruthie's story is very sad. Her owners (never found) tied her to a telephone pole at a gas station in the middle of the night on a cold winter's night. Two young men who pulled in to get gas early in the morning saw her and took her into their car. They then contacted us to see if we could take her in. She was so scared and freezing cold she just cowered in fear for about a week. We are convinced that she was physically abused as well. Little by little she started to come out of her shell. We left her in our nursery building for a few weeks because we thought she may be pregnant. It was obvious that she had had a litter at some point in her life. Turns out she wasn't pregnant so we put her in with the general population where she has thrived. She loves playing with the puppies, she's great with cats and wonderful with children as all Pitties are. She has been spayed, is heart worm negative, fully vaccinated, crate trained and house broken to a doggie door. She is small for a Pittie so we call her a "Pocket Pittie" Ruthie needs her forever home, could that be you? She is ready for immediate transport. Hunter is a gentle 60-pound Pitbull mix with a heart of gold. This strong boy, about a year old, was found running loose on the back roads of Tennessee, but despite his tough start, he's in great shape with a silky black coat. While no one has come forward to claim him, Hunter is patiently waiting for a loving family to call his own! He’s been sharing a pen with a Boxer, though we feed him separately to avoid any food aggression. While he hasn’t been tested with cats or kids yet, Hunter did have a run-in with a neighbor’s chicken , so he might be best suited to a home without small livestock. Meet Tica, a stunning 4-year-old Blue Tri XL Bully with a heart as big as her warm personality! This gentle, 50-pound Pitbull mix has a charming, submissive nature and gets along wonderfully with other dogs and children. While we haven’t seen her around cats, Tica’s calm demeanor suggests she could adjust well with a proper introduction. Tica’s journey to us was a tough one. She was found abandoned and tied to a parked vehicle with a horse lead, without food, water, or shelter. By the time our Animal Control Officer arrived, the lead had tightened painfully around her neck, leaving a fluid-filled knot. Fortunately, her previous owner surrendered her to avoid cruelty charges, and Tica is now safe with Critter Cavalry Animal Rescue. Due to family connections of her former owner, Tica needs a loving forever home outside of her previous home area. This way she can enjoy a peaceful, fresh start. Despite her difficult past, Tica’s resilient spirit and gentle heart shine through and she’s ready to bring boundless love and loyalty to her new family.
