Story
Khan is a very handsome young pit bull looking for an active/structured house. Having been abandoned at the shelter, we don't know any specifics about his background. We do know that he LOVES humans and craves attention! Khan is extremely energetic and very strong. When we first met him he had absolutely no manners. He can get overstimulated and will jump or nip to get your attention. He has completed Intro-to-Training class twice and walks with a Gentle Leader and a chest harness. He will benefit greatly from continued consistency with his training and commands. He is very smart, and he shows that he can absolutely be a Good Dog with consistent handling (and the right yummy incentives). After more than a year here at the shelter, he is much calmer and better able to process his surroundings. His loves are car rides, walks, swimming, and PEOPLE! At 65-70 lbs his strength can be a challenge. His jump has a 5-6 foot clearance from standing! Khan has not shown any signs of aggression toward other dogs but he does forget his manners in an effort to play with them. We have not specifically cat-tested Khan, but he has been in our lobby where he can see cats and he is very interested in them. We suspect that he would chase anything smaller than himself.

Story
My name is Betty. I'm a sweet older girl looking for my forever home. I can be a little nervous at first but as I warm up I am sweet and affectionate. I love the company of my people friends and love to be close by. I am not a fan of other dogs and would prefer to be the only dog in the home. I have not been around cats before but may be open to trying. Do you have room for an old girl to rest and enjoy her golden years? If you think your home is right for me then come down and lets meet.---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm. ---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
Hi, I'm Caillian! I am a puppy who was living in a hoarder's home, and now I am looking for my furever home where I can be the center of your world. I have a lot to learn as far as basic commands and canine manners, but I am eager to please and ready to learn. I have shown some reactivity towards other dogs, so I will need a proper introduction to see if I can have a doggy companion. However, I may do ok with cats, but have yet to meet one! I also find younger children to be a bit scary, so dog savvy kids 5+ that can respect my nervousness are the ones I'm looking for. If you think I would be a good fit with your family, come down to the shelter to meet me!---Our facility is open daily from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM, meet and greet appointments are highly recommended. If you are interested in meeting an animal please contact us via email at Lancaster@pspca.org to learn more about our adoption process and to set a meet and greet appointment.

Story
Hi, I'm Prince! I am a big, goofy ball of energy and love. I was living in a hoarder's home, and now I am looking for my furever home where I can be the center of your heart. I have a lot to learn as far as basic commands, housetraining, and canine manners, but I am eager to please and very food motivated. I am open to living with other animals given proper introduction. I have displayed a prey drive, so I may not be a good fit with cats, but I'm willing to try. I was briefly adopted and was happy to live with two other dogs, but unfortunately one of them didn't like me being the third wheel. I have shown some resource guarding behavior while at the shelter, so any kids in the home should be 13 and older, who can respect my boundaries. My adopter did say that I was fine about sharing my toys and food with the other dogs though. I could be a wonderful addition to your family if you'll give me a chance. I am a lovely pup who deserves a better life and companionship. Will you adopt me?---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 4/4/24 Elvis…known for his incredible good looks, flashy style, and God-given talent. That’s the Presley version of Elvis. Our version has two of those things. He can’t sing a lick, but he looks like he could. Elvis is smart, friendly and fun. He is a recent graduate of the Paws In Prison training program. He has mastered all basic obedience and passed his Canine Good Citizen test. He has gotten along well with other dogs of similar size and energy. He has not been around tiny dogs or cats. This guy needs a home desperately. He is currently in boarding, which is OK for short term, but not great for the mental and emotional health of a dog who was used to being with someone 24/7 at PIP. Can you offer him a loving home? Granted, he won’t come with a pink Cadillac or sparkly suits. But he will have tons of personality and a song full of love and devotion. For, my darling, he’ll love you. And he always will. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. Lola Gosh this tiny little girl is so adorable! She is a bully of some variety, but she is only 33 lbs and fully grown at about 2 years old. This tiny queen is absolutely adorable with her partially blue eyes. She followed a kid home from a store and no owner ever claimed her. She had a horrible case of mange (as seen in the last few photos) but she has been treated and her hair is growing back in nicely. She still has some patchy spots that need to fill in but she's 85% there. Lola is a silly, fun loving, happy girl. She gets along great with other dogs and she is very playful. And she has the CUTEST underbite ever! She has been fully vetted and is ready to find her family! Located in Arkansas, but transport is available.
