Story
Meet Mac, the most adorable 3-year-old pit mix you’ll ever lay eyes on! Mac has been through a lot – he came into the shelter as a stray and sadly, no one ever came to claim him. He’s feeling scared and stressed in the shelter environment, and he desperately needs a home and loving family to call his own. Mac is a sweetheart with the cutest ears you’ve ever seen! Despite his tough past, he’s a sensitive boy who’s just looking for someone to give him the love and security he deserves. He’s a bit unsure around strangers at first, but once he trusts you, he’s the most loyal companion you could ask for. This smart boy has tons of potential with the right training. He’s eager to learn and impress, and he’ll thrive with someone who can give him the guidance and patience he needs. Mac is full of energy and loves to play – he’ll keep you entertained for hours with his antics! Mac gets along with all the other dogs at the shelter, and did well during his “cat-test.” He’s ready to be the best buddy for someone who’s willing to give him a chance. Could you be the one to give Mac the loving home he so desperately craves? Don’t let this amazing boy spend another day in the shelter – adopt Mac today and give him the happy ending he deserves! Mac is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. If interested in adopting, please go to our website: www.nokillarc.org to fill out a pre-approval form (located under the adoptable dogs` section).

Story
Penny for Your Thoughts? This adoptable dog hopes they include her! Penny is a (estimated) 3 year old who weights 42 pounds—the perfect size for any house. Penny can be a little wary at first—but doesn’t take long to warm up. Once comfortable, Penny is the queen of chill, and would make the perfect companion for anyone who can show her the devotion and respect she deserves. We imagine she’s be just as content enjoying a cozy weekend at home as she would be exploring the great outdoors, and she’s quickly getting the hang of walks on a leash.Penny can’t be placed in a home with cats. She can be dog selective at times, and seems to do better with female dogs- a meet and greet would be required for any potential canine siblings. Do you have room in your family for Penny? Penny is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations. If interested in adopting, please go to our website: www.nokillarc.org to fill out a pre-approval form (it can be located under the ‘adoptable dog’ section)

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ryker is a handsome, friendly, silly pitbull mix.  He came to us through no fault of his own--his owner was no longer able to care for him. Full of puppy energy, Ryker needs an active owner or family who will channel his energy and keep him mentally stimulated.  A fence is not required, but would be preferred as he really needs a place to run.  He walks nicely on a leash.  Wiggly and happy, Ryker just loves attention and is good with other dogs and kids.  His energy may be a lot for little children, but older kids who will play ball and take him for walks would be awesome. Ryker is neutered and updated with vaccines and is on monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet. Applications are the first step in the adoption process. Please do not call or email simply to express interest. We are all volunteers and receiving your application saves us time and helps to determine the best match for both people and dogs.  We provide as much information as we currently have on each dog in their description. For questions on the adoption process, including fees, please review the Adoption page. If you have additional questions or are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application. Once we receive your application someone will be in touch to answer your questions. We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.  Thank you!November 5, 2024, 11:59 am

Story
Hooch is a neutered male approximately 3 years old. He was originally living with a homeless man in a nearby town and he was abandoned at a gas station. He was extremely underweight with his bones sticking out, but now he is a normal weight. He is friendly with all people and kids. Not completely sure how is is with all dogs but we will evaluate him. Not good with cats. Since he not been a home yet we are not sure if he is housetrained. He appears fine riding in a car. If interested in meeting him or adopting Hooch please text Casey at 570-441-0083. We adopt to the general public but we also provide companion animals or emotional support dogs to our military veterans at no charge. Richie is an adult neutered male that weighs 53 lbs. Likely 5 years + . He was found strapped to a pole abandoned by the owner! He is microchipped and registered but owner never responded to calls.  A kind person took him in and held him in there empty house (rental) and he did well alone! Housetrained trained. Barks at the door when has to go potty. Seemed fine while interacting with male and female dog. We were asked to take him into our Rescue and agreed! Such a sad incident for Richie! He has been fine here at our rescue! He needs a human to adopt him that will not abandon him again! If you are interested in meeting or adopting Richie please text Casey at 570-441-0083.
