Introducing Rolo: A High-Energy, Affectionate Companion Seeking a Loving HomeMeet Rolo, a one-year-old Boxer mix with boundless energy and a heart full of affection! Rolo is an exuberant, playful dog who loves life and is always ready for an adventure. Whether you’re looking for a jogging partner, a buddy for long walks, or someone to play fetch with for hours, Rolo is up for it all. His energy is contagious, and he’ll keep you entertained while being your loyal sidekick through it all.Though Rolo is full of personality, he’s still working on refining his manners and would thrive with an experienced owner who can guide him through the training he needs. He’s eager to learn and has made great progress so far—he is already familiar with several basic commands and has a strong foundation to build upon.Training & Behavior Needs:Rolo is a smart and eager-to-please dog who learns quickly, especially when food is involved. He’s very treat-motivated, which makes him an ideal candidate for continued training. Here’s what you need to know about his training needs:Basic Commands: Rolo already knows several basic commands, including sit, stay, lay down, heel, and he’s very gentle when taking treats. He’s highly responsive to positive reinforcement, and with consistency, he will continue to excel in his training. While he has a solid foundation, some additional practice and refinement will help him improve his manners and learn better self-control.Channeling His Energy: Rolo’s high energy and excitement can sometimes get the best of him. He’ll benefit from more structured walks, regular playtime, and mental stimulation to help him focus and burn off energy in a productive way. Engaging him in puzzle toys or obedience training sessions will help keep his mind sharp and focused.Training with Distractions: Rolo is a dog who tends to get overly excited and can be reactive in certain situations, especially around other dogs. He would do best in a home where he is the only pet, as he can be overwhelmed by the presence of other animals. With training and patience, Rolo can learn how to manage his reactivity, but he will need a calm, pet-free environment to succeed.Leash Training: Rolo is eager to be on the move, and while he’s doing great on a leash, he may need further training to walk politely without pulling. Positive reinforcement techniques will help him develop better leash manners as he continues to grow.
