Story
Eleanor is a very sweet girl! She loves people and is great with kids, but might be too high energy for young children. She seems to enjoy other dogs and did very well in her previous foster home. She will need a home without cats. She is energetic, playful, and entertaining! Keep in mind, her energy can get her into trouble; she can clear a 6 foot chain link fence! Eleanor would thrive with a large privacy fence and lots of room to roam!Age: 2Housebroken: UnknownActivity Level: HighKids: Likes kids! Story
Did you know Pierre originally came to us in 2022? He has been adopted and returned twice because of his energy level and his rowdy play style with other dogs, and we are beyond determined to find his perfect adopter.Pierre is loving and affectionate and wins over every person he meets. He loves butt scratches and belly rubs, and wants to be the center of attention. Pierre has a hyper play style and would do best with other playful dogs who want to wrestle.Pierre seems very tolerant of children and gets along well with them, but he might be too energetic for small kiddos. Pierre loves car rides. He walks pretty well on a leash and enjoys going on adventures. If you are looking for a new best friend who wants to live his life to the fullest, consider Pierre!More information? Call Marion Area Humane Society at 740-389-6548 or email at manager@mahspets.org

Story
Meet Mazie! Mazie is a 10 year old boxer mix who was surrendered to us because she wasn’t doing well with the young children in the home. We believe Mazie is hard of hearing, if not completely deaf. She would do best in a home without too much going on. She is looking for an adopter without young kids or other animals, however we will do meet and greets with older kids/teens who won’t squeeze or grab her, and respect her space! The shelter is no place for a sweet senior like Mazie. If you’re interested in sharing your home, please reach out!Intake notes: housebroken, afraid of loud noises, doesn't like children, protectiveMore information? Story
Meet YingYang! This beautiful lady is around 4 1/2 years old. She has unique markings and it almost looks like she’s wearing pants! YingYang doesn’t make much noise and usually stays in the back of her kennel on her bed. She would likely do well in a home with respectful kids and has lived with other dogs. She will need a home without cats. YingYang is already spayed and weighs 60 lbs. Nobody ever asks to meet YingYang, which is a bummer, but our volunteers adore her and will love on her until she gets adopted! If you’re interested in fostering or adopting YingYang, please let us know!

Story
This big hunk is Bluey! Bluey came to us as a stray back in July. He can be very timid around humans and isn’t quite sure what to think. He is quiet and observant and seems like an intelligent guy. He acts like he wants to play with the other dogs through the fence in our exercise yard and we would love to do some meet and greets! Bluey is going to need some patience in his new home. He may take a few days to come around, but we promise he’s worth the try!
