Story
We have entered a partnership with Franklin County Dog Shelter to help reduce their euthanization rates. Gilbert is one of those dogs in need who will be running out of time soon. Please understand we do our best to keep these posts updated. If you have any questions, please reach out. For more information on these kinds of posts, please scroll down to the bottom. Out-Of-State adoption available - Coming Back Home Rescue provides transportation for approved adopters. Critical = Dogs most likely to be posted for euth next. Urgent = Dogs who may have more time before being posted. Next round of dogs posted for euthanization at FCDS begins 12/27. His final day of life has NOT been scheduled YET but has been placed on their Urgent List. A date will be scheduled within a week at the earliest or by the end of the month at the latest. Time is still of the essence. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our job is to post dogs in need from partnered shelters, vet potential homes, pull dogs from the Franklin County Dog to get them off death row and transport them to their forever homes. This is the process we have been using for over 3 years and do our best to assist potential homes. However, it is not a process for everyone. If you are interested in meeting Gilbert, please visit the Franklin County Dog Shelter in Columbus, OH. For a more traditional process, we have a lot of great dogs available for adoption through Coming Back Home Rescue. All of our dogs through Coming Back Home Rescue are eligible for greet and meets, and Foster to Adopt trials. ALTERNATIVE for TRADITIONAL PROCESS: Betsy - Staffy/Female/5YO - Trained/Laid-Back Available Directly through CBHR -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gilbert Gottfried 6.4 Years Old 71 Pounds Here is what FCDS had to say about Gilbert; Bio – Gilbert is available for rescue due to his length of stay at the shelter (08/03/24). He was picked up and brought to the shelter after being found running loose as a stray with no background information. He is a happy boy and was easy to leash and get out of his kennel. Gilbert may be housebroken since he went potty as soon as he got outside. He is very treat motivated and can get a little jumpy for treats but knows sit, shake, and lay down. He loves playing with toys but doesn’t really want to bring them back to his person. He was tested with a female Husky mix on 8/10. Gilbert approached with fully body wiggles and play bowing. He liked to wrestle and play chase. Gilbert had a rougher playstyle and was too much for the other dog so the interaction didn’t last too long. He was tested again with a large female dog on 11/27. He didn’t notice the other dog at first and did tense up a little when the other dog came from across the yard and body slammed him (playfully). He quickly play bowed and started playing though. CBHR Feedback; - Playstyle will not be for every dog. Will need either correction and taught how to play with others. May not play with other dogs in the same manner if presented in a calmer environment. - There are no immediate concerns for this dog. Story
Meet Mariah, the newest addition to our rescue family. This little cutie was found tied up to a post. We estimate her to be around a year old. Can you believe it? Just a year old and already facing such a traumatic experience. But now, she's safe and sound with us and ready to find her forever home! Mariah may be petite, weighing in at approximately 25 lbs, but don't let her size fool you. She's got a big personality and an even bigger heart. While she may be a bit timid at first, she warms up quickly and craves attention. Who wouldn't want to shower this sweet girl with love and affection? One of Mariah's favorite things to do is run and play in the yard. Her zoomies are seriously the cutest thing you'll ever see. So, a fenced-in yard is highly recommended for this energetic pup. She also has shown positive interest in other dogs, but we do require a meet and greet with any resident pups before adoption. Now, I know what you're all thinking, how could anyone resist this little ball of fluff? So if you’re ready to open your heart and home to a canine companion, now is the time! Message us on Facebook or email us at euclidpetpals2@yahoo.com to schedule a meet and greet. All household members, including any dogs living in the home, must be present for the meet and greet!

Story
Loki's journey has been a challenging one, but his resilience shines through as he overcomes the obstacles that once stood in his way. This sweet boy, estimated to be around 2-3 years old, has faced demodex mange and entropion, enduring both physical discomfort and emotional struggles. However, with dedicated care and medical intervention, Loki has undergone surgery to repair his eyes and is now on the path to recovery. Despite his past hardships, Loki's spirit remains unwavering. He exudes a youthful energy and zest for life, seeking an active family who can provide him with the love and attention he deserves. While he enjoys playful romps in the yard, he also appreciates moments of relaxation, where he can simply unwind beside his human companions. For Loki, finding a forever home where he can feel safe and cherished is his ultimate goal. With his endearing personality and affectionate nature, he longs for a place to call his own, where he can form lasting bonds with those who understand the depth of his journey.
