Ideal Home / Adopter: Dirk would thrive in a loving home where he receives plenty of attention and affection. His ideal adopter should have experience with large dogs and be patient as he works on his weight loss journey. While an active lifestyle is a plus, it’s not a requirement—he enjoys walks and playtime but also loves to relax. Families with kids aged 12 and up would be great, and he can get along with other dogs, though a slow introduction is best for cats. Most importantly, Dirk needs someone who’s ready to shower him with love and cuddles.
Likes: Dirk has a joyful personality that shines through in his favorite activities! He absolutely loves stuffy toys, chew toys, and rope toys, which keep him entertained for hours. Dirk is a big fan of ear and head scratches, and he’ll happily nudge you for more attention, or even sing you the song of his people! He enjoys butt scratches, too—there’s nothing like a good scratch to make him wiggle with happiness. Fetch is a fun game for him, and he’s always ready for dinner time and treats, which he approaches with great enthusiasm. Most of all, Dirk adores cuddles and snuggling up close, proving he’s a big softie at heart!
Dislikes: Dirk has a few dislikes that potential adopters should consider. He isn’t fond of cats running around and jumping, especially if he thinks they are teasing him. He also doesn’t like being left out of the fun—if he’s stuck in his crate or inside while everyone else is outside, he can become quite vocal about it. Dirk does seem to have some separation anxiety, so he thrives on companionship and may need extra reassurance when left alone. Being aware of these quirks will help ensure that Dirk feels secure and happy in his new home!
Dirky is the best boy -- he just wants to be near his people, helping to ensure the party keeps going! He is fun-loving, cuddly, and sweet. This boy doesn't have a bad bone in his body, unless you count his shenanigans as bad! He certainly doesn'tDirk is truly special for so many reasons! His gentle, affectionate nature makes him a wonderful companion—he has an incredible ability to connect with people and bring joy to those around him. His playful spirit shines through in his love for toys and games, and his determination to be a lap dog, despite his size, always brings a smile. Dirk’s resilience is also remarkable; despite his medical needs, he remains sweet and loving, proving that his heart is bigger than his challenges. His unique personality, combined with his desire for cuddles and connection, makes him a one-of-a-kind friend who will fill your life with love and laughter!
Dirks's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative.
