Story
Hi, my name is Jaxx & I am looking for my forever family! The most important thing to know about me is that I love my foster mom. I know that it’s my job to keep her safe & she loves to hike with me!! I weigh 90 lbs but I am dainty on a leash. I see & hear everything & no one sneaks up on me!! I make my mom feel really safe. I love car rides, long naps on the couch & I am cool in a crate but I would prefer to nap on the couch all day!!  I am a big boy & I look intimidating ( I have serious resting bitch face) but I’m kind of a big chicken. New people make me nervous so I need a little bit of time to make friends!  I have lived with both dogs & cats in the past & i got along with some but not others.  I’m cool with other dogs on the trails because I know that I’m supposed to focus on my mom! I have a foster dad too. He’s cool. He gives good treats but I LOVE my mom ( & she says it’s adorable!!)  Do you need a big, beefy guy to make you feel safe?? I promise you won’t regret falling in love with me because I will love you back with my whole heart!!  ~ Love, Jaxx All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   November 5, 2024, 10:18 pm

Story
My name is Mugsy! I'm a big, lovable, goofy 2-year-old bo and about 55 lbs!! I love to go on car rides and I love to be on your lap, but my foster mom says I can't do that when she's driving (*eye roll*). Even when she's not driving, I'm still a velcro dog! I just want to be with my peeps! I love toys, I really love treats & I'm great in my crate. I would do best as the only 4 legged baby in your home. I am unfortunately not great with every dog. I make up for it by being wonderful with every person and I LOVE kids!! I want to live the life of being a spoiled rotten baby that I know I deserve! Oh, and did I mention that I'm gorgeous? Just look at my squishy face! I'm the best dog ever! At least that’s what my foster mom says.  Apply to adopt Mugsy today: www.adoptapitrescue.org Mugsy’s adoption fee is $200. He is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped.  All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. Story
Brownie and Baby were found running across I75 near Wagner Ford Rd.  They get along very well and love to play together. They both love attention once they know and trust the person.  Baby is a bit selective with who he decides to love, but once he gets a chance to know and trust you he will love you forever!  He gets along great with teenagers but should not be in a home with young kids.  Unfortunately Baby has heartworms and started heartworm treatment. However, he did not do well physically or emotionally with the treatment. After consulting with our veterinarian and a behaviorist we have decided to not give any more heartworm injections at this time. He will continue on his heartworm prevention that will keep any more heartworms from reaching the adult stage, and just let any remaining adult worms die out.  Baby is looking for a foster or adoptive home.  He needs to be with an experienced dog person.  I'm certain these two have had a pretty rough life up until this point, I'm afraid to even imagine what they've been through.  Now they just need lots of training, love, and patience.  They have both worked with trainers and have learned to walk nicely on leash as well as sit and wait nicely at doorways. Babe is a very loving boy. ##1199054##

Brownie and Baby were found running across I75 near Wagner Ford Rd in July 2021.  Brownie is a big goofball who loves to play.  He and Baby love to rough house together.  They both love attention once they know and trust the person. I'm certain they have had a pretty rough life up until this point, and we are continually working with them on their fear of strangers.  He does well with other large dogs and cats, and does great with people if introducted slowly.  They can be adopted separately but would absolutely love to stay together.   ##1199034##

My teenage kids picked this lovable boy up when he ran across the road. He climbed right in the car very sweet boy. Is fixed sicsa could not locate his owner appears as though he was feed well but not an inside dog. Whoever had him did not care for him like a dog needs. He's been dewormed and washed thoroughly as he was covered in fleas. Hes missing some hair we have been putting moisturizer on to help regrow his hair. Super chill boy mostly gets along with our pit she loves the bigger dog to play with. He loves to chill and snuggles with my teen. He needs a good home where he wont be left outside.

Story
MEET DREXIE!!! Miss Drexie is a (DOB 06/08/20) beautiful female PiPei (Pit Bull/Shar-Pei mix). She is just as sweet as she looks. She loves other dogs. Unknown with cats. Would do best with older children because she is still learning her manners. It was determined that the bow in her front legs was (most likely) intentional as she did have bilateral broken bones that have healed. She had had a few litters in her short little life. Drexie was rescued from a hoarding case in Dayton where she only knew life on a logging chain. Better days since then and better life ahead of her. Our girl is now fully Vetted and looking for her furever home.

Story
Without even knowing, naming Honey BooBoo took on a whole new meaning. Not only can a name connect each of us to our own identity and individuality, but it can also carry power and blessings. You will never find a sweeter girl than Honey BooBoo. Honey BooBoo came into the rescue in December of '22, completely pregnant and in very poor health. She had eight gorgeous babies (one didn't survive) on Christmas Eve eve. All of her babies have long ago been adopted but this, the sweetest girl on the planet, is still awaiting her furever. HBB is fully vetted, she adores other dogs and loves all people. She does need to practice her manners a little with not pulling on the leash and not to be all up in your business but she just wants to be close her any human for lots and lots of love. Honey BooBoo is a bit too cat curious but otherwise, the best girl in all the land!! Please help us find Honey BooBoo her own person whether it is you or someone you know.

Adopt Chopper Chopper is the absolute sweetest to ALL humans! For being a young pittie, he has such an unwavering, unconditional love for humans. He is as sweet as Strawberry Wine! Chopper loves to go on walks and would be a GREAT hiking buddy. After you and Chopper's adventures, he will want cuddle and get all the loving on the couch. Chopper gets zoomies like a crazy man and loves to explore the yard! He is potty trained and lets you know when he needs to go outside. Chopper is very picky about his animal friends and would do best in an only dog home. Chopper is a Loverboy to any human he meets.

Story
Who is going to step up for this special boy and change his world? You know, Sherman is cute as a bug but he is not the easiest dog to foster. Not what you were expecting to hear? Well, hear me out- Sherman deserves better. And I believe that a better life for him starts with honesty. He's been let down before and I refuse to let him down again. He was found as a stray. Whether he was dumped or just not secured well in his yard, we don't know. What we do know is that he was failed. Somebody brought home this adorable cuteness of a puppy and we can only assume, grew tired of him. They didn't even try to teach him how to be a good dog (that doesn't happen magically, BTW), no manners, no "tricks". I guess he was supposed to figure it out for himself and when he didn't, well, that's where we come in. He is a beautiful bundle of boundless energy. He loves to play ball and is learning to "release" so the play can go on. He is learning to "come" so the ball can get thrown over and over. He is learning "sit" as he has to "sit" and "release" before foster mom will throw the ball again. He is wary of strangers- can you blame him??? He does fine with slow intros. He likes other dogs but is very dominant so any dog buddies would need to be willing to put up with his shenanigans. We are recommending a home with teenage children and up due to his size and level of energy as well dog awareness. His ideal home would be with an active person looking for a forever loyal friend. Someone that will take him on hikes and throw that ball over and over and over. He needs someone committed to training him to help him be his best self. So, no. Sherman is not the easiest dog to foster and he won't be the easiest dog to find that perfect home for. But I don't care. Because I will keep loving on him until that perfect someone comes forward. Please help share Sherman's story!

Story
It's time for  a very special introduction....our sweet, special boy Samson, or as his foster family calls him... Scooter &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143&#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143&#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143  Scoot came to the rescue in February of 2023 as a puppy. He's an extra special guy with some extra special needs.  He's mostly paralyzed in the back end and is also incontinent...but let us tell you, that doesn't slow him down one bit! He is silly and playful and extra sweet.  Upon entering his foster home, Scoot started hydrotherapy, which has helped him immensely. He's able to use his back legs some but mostly scoots around and still needs a wheelchair for walks and outings.  In addition, Scooter went to a neurologist in Columbus so we could figure out what caused this and if it was fixable. We got our answer pretty quickly... Neosporosis.  Neospora is a parasite that was passed to him in utero from his mom. It paralyzes muscles. He started antibiotics immediately to kill the parasite and keep it from doing further damage. We can't fix Scoot, he is how he is...which is PERFECT!  Scooter is almost finished with his antibiotics, but still takes daily meds to help with his urinary incontinence, probiotics, and a joint supplement.  He is loved beyond measure in his foster home, even though he's  a little "extra." However, the time has come to let him spread his wings and fly in his forever home &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Samson is great with other digs, kids and cats. He is neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines and microchipped. His adoption fee is $250 All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. Story
Hi, I'm Bubba. I am a boxer/pit mix and I'm around 9 years old. I weigh between 60-65 pounds and would be your next lap cuddle buddy if you let me. I love belly scratches and ear massages. I currently live with two little kids and they play all over me. I have had play dates with other dogs and love to run around with them. Smaller dogs are better as I am not so sure about larger dogs. I enjoy being outside and running around. I love to go on walks but need a little training on the leash. I am a sucker for dog biscuits/treats and happily will sit, shake, and lay down to receive them. Due to my past, I have separation anxiety so someone who is around a lot or works from home would be ideal. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home.
