Millie would be best suitable for a young couple or older woman with no other animals. She does fine with other dogs but she is very territorial. She guards food and toys and will show teeth and growl if provoked. Millie doesn’t like to be told what to do and if she is tired she might show teeth if you are trying to get her to do something she doesn’t want to do, like move from the couch. We took her in after my husbands grandmother passed away. Millie would sit at the top of the couch and cuddle his grandma. She does pull on the leash at first but is relatively good. She loves to sunbathe.

Meet Patch (male). This handsome boy had a rough start to life. After losing seven siblings, his Mamma also died when he was only 5 weeks old. One of our wonderful volunteers rescued Patch and his two remaining siblings and nursed them back to health. They are now thriving, happy, and healthy. Patch is active and loves to run, chase, tumble, and roll! He is curious and likes to explore new areas of the yard and inside the house. He loves squeaker toys and the snuffle mat. Patch is doing well with his foster big sister and brother, but can still be a little tentative at times. He is in the early stages of potty training and doing well for his age. Patch is good with using puppy pads when necessary.Patch will be ready for adoption soon. To meet Patch, complete the adoption application at ricopetrecovery.org.The adoption fee for Patch is $350. The fee includes the first two sets of puppy shots at our partner veterinarian. The adopter is responsible for the third and fourth rounds of puppy shots at their own veterinarian. The adoption fee also includes the neuter surgery at our partner veterinarian and a microchip when he's old enough to be neutered.

A 55lb birch-colored ball of energy, Arties silliness is one of his many lovable traits! Although it takes a minute to warm up to new people, once he does, he loves to cuddle and show off his zoomies. With a little guidance, Artie loves to take walks and enjoys being outside. He is currently up to date with shots, neutered and is being taught basic commands. He may possibly be dog selective, but we are currently testing for that. He has not been tested with kids or cats.
