Story
Nala is officially up for adoption! 💕🐾👏🏼 Nala is a sweet, affectionate pittie mix who has overcome many challenges in her young life. This girl is an under 2-year-old pup that came to us in September after being rescued from a homeless encampment where she was not treated well. Despite the abuse and neglect she endured, Nala has a heart of gold and so much love to give to all people she surrounds. Nala, a resilient and loving dog, has faced challenges that no canine should ever have to endure. Through no fault of her own, she found herself in another home where she received little attention, leading her to seek out her own entertainment by darting out the front door. This behavior, while understandable given the circumstances, is not something that should be expected of a dog. These behaviors and lack of proper decompression, training and instruction has left her with dog reactivity. She has worked with a trainer and her foster family continues her training.

Story
Nala is a sweet dog that was rescued from an abusive homeless camp situation. She is approximately two years old spayed, female, up-to-date on shots, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. Her past situation has given her some reactivity to other dogs so a solo dog home or very experienced handler is her ideal situation. She loves all people and kids. She can play a little rough so younger kids would need to be cautious. She loves snuggles, boat rides, car rides, and generally being around her people. Please consider meeting Nala. She shared with Santa that she wanted a permanent home for Christmas Her adoption fee will be credited for a trainer to help transition into a new home

Story
Nyla is a beautiful puppy, who was born in a very sad situation, My nephew‘s dog was a tiny little bull terrier and mistakenly mated with a big poodle who at the time his step mother was babysitting doing this created pregnancy issues for his dog and when it was time to have the babies, they was too big to come out causing all her puppies including his dog to lose their lives. Precious Nyla was the only puppy who made it out alive. although we were awfully sadden we knew she was giving to us as a precious gift. I had to feed her from a bottle, teach her how to eat from scratch, I was her mom. It truly breaks my heart that after eight months of loving on her that I have to now give her away. I don’t have the proper time to nurture her to love on her to show her the type of care that she needs. I’m asking for a family that is willing to take the time out, and raise her with love, I do believe that she needs a masculine figure in her life that can teach her and train her the right way.

Story
Shiloh is an almost 3-year old mix of pit bull, Australian cattle dog, German Shepherd and Labrador Retriever. As a puppy, he was abandoned with his siblings in a park and was adopted through Rico Pet Recovery. Through no fault of his own, Shiloh is now looking for a new home.He weighs 48 pounds, is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines, house trained and leash-trained. He knows several commands and his current owner describes him as a sweet dog who likes to cuddle.Shiloh is a high-energy dog and would do best in a home with active adults who have time to work with him. He hasn't had exposure to children and would probably do best with no kids or ones that are older. He is very comfortable with women, and although he is afraid of men, he warms up quickly to them in the home. When out on a leash, Shiloh will 'yell' at men. He likes to protect his territory from other dogs and doesn't care for dogs approaching the fence. No cats, please.Shiloh's adoption fee is $250. You can apply for him at ricopetrecovery.org.

Penny has really settled in.Her playful side is showing more and more especially since introducing her to foster brother, Max. He was a bit reserved at firsthe lets her know when its enough and she responds well. Ultimately theyve claimed a couch as their own, napping on opposite ends together. She also has embraced a little more independence. Her foster mom can actually go into another room without her worrying or crying. This doesnt mean she still isnt the biggest cuddle bug!! Whats personal space?!?!Her coat is becoming softer and the bare spots continue to fill in. Her tail is slowly healing and hasnt bleed in more than a week!We continue to work on her training and shes responding positively. She really is a sweet girlYou can apply to meet Penelope at ricopetrecovery.orgAdoption fee is $250

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application Brief Description: This is "Pudge." What you see is what you get...easy going, calm, well...lazy. :) Likes: Being a couch potato, chewing on Nylabones, eating, sleeping...he's a guy with simple pleasures. Dislikes: Having is nails clipped. Having to wait more than 30 seconds for his food when it's being prepared. Personality: Calm. Chill. Quiet (except when food is being prepared for him). Can be stubborn! Temperament: Laid back. Not much upsets or excites Pudge. Energy level: None. Favorite activities: EATING! Watching TV on the couch with his human while he chews a bone. Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Cats: unknown; Dogs: great - no issues; Kids: unknown but suspect he would be absolutely fine. Haven't found anything so far Pudge isn't good with. He doesn't particularly care to have his nails clipped or baths but he tolerates both. House trained: Working on it and making good progress. It is uncertain where Pudge came from and/or if he's ever been house trained so, therefore, he was started from scratch and he's come a long way. With a consistent schedule and time to adjust he should do well. Crate trained: YES! Pudge loves his crate. Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence?): No. Walks well on a leash?: When he wants to. Pudge doesn't pull or fight. He just won't walk with his human if it's not where he wants to go. Been working on that and he's doing much better. Challenges: Getting him to socialize more with people and pets. Pudge mostly keeps to himself. He is starting to make attempts to play with the other dogs and humans here and there but needs encouragement. Pudge will need lots of encouragement to get any exercise. Any medical issues?:  Pudge is currently being treated for a persistent skin infection secondary to suspected allergies. He is much improved from when he first arrived. Pudge has recovered well from recent bilateral entropion. Eye irritation and drainage is markedly decreased since the surgery. Pudge has been on a long-term antibiotic treatment and, as a result, he has been having persistent soft stools, however, it's been controlled with feeding Science Diet I/D food and Pepto-Bismol. What would be the best kind of home?:  Pudge would be perfectly happy to be an only dog getting all the attention lavished upon him; however, he is also fine with the other dogs in the household. Pudge is ideal for someone who wants a calm, easy going companion. He is not a hiking, running, or hunting dog by any means.  Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. Story
Meet Goldie! Goldie is 1-2 year old Boxer mix who was found roaming the streets in Columbus. Luckily, she found a wonderful family to take her in and reached out to PetPromise to help find her forever family. Goldie loves to play with other dogs, toys and cuddle. She is learning to love crate time and is currently working on house training. She gets along well with other dogs and cats. She quickly learned how to “sit” and we have no doubt she can learn many more tricks. She would do well in an active home with another active dog to play with. She is working on potty training and doing well with consistent positive reinforcement. She is very treat motivated and learning very quickly. She has already mastered sit! Goldie is also working on her crate training. She is doing excellent and is great with other dogs! She will ready for obedience classes when she is adopted. We HIGHLY encourage obedience/behavior training for all of our pups once adopted into their forever homes. If you live an active lifestyle and are ready to bring this adorable girl into you home, please apply to meet her at PetPromise.org Please fill out an adoption application at PetPromise.org We only adopt out in Columbus, Ohio area only. Story
BasilMaleAge: 11.5 yearsWeight: 60 lbsBreed: English Bulldog/Beagle Mix Hey there, I’m Basil. I am a happy and loving guy who would do best in a home without other dogs or kids. I really don’t have much interest in cats, so a home with cats would be just fine.  I am crate trained, but don’t need to be in a crate when you are gone. I am house trained, but I do wear a wrap inside since I am a senior gentleman. I do well on a leash too (I do pull some with excitement, but my harness helps Immensely). I love to wander around the backyard, travel with my human, take naps with my human or just nap by myself on a comfy bed or sofa. My foster mom says I am soulful and loving and I just want to be your best friend. I would love to be with you as much as possible. I also love a good bone, all the treats and a stuffed Kong. I am also on renal support prescription dogfood that will need to continue in my new home and I have a heart murmur that will need monitored yearly (and is common for my breed), but neither of these slow me down. I can’t wait to find my own forever family who will show me all the love and attention I deserve.  If you are interested in meeting Basil apply at www.causeforcanines.org Adoption fee: $225 Must be an Ohio resident & 23 or older. No Children. ##1633287##
