Story
Tucker is a five-year-old, 65-pound adult lab/pitbull mix, full of affection and “good boy” energy. His foster mom has nothing but good things to say about him! He's a quick learner who already knows some basic commands; and he's learned some important skills like leash walking. He loves playing rope-tug or ball- and disc-fetch (well, he’s 98% on “chase” and maybe 80% on “bring it”). He’s completely house- and crate-trained; he often rests in his open crate. Tucker has a gentle and loyal nature; and he's smart, independent, and playful. He loves to be included in the family and sit on the couch with you, but he's also content to make his own bed and snuggle up with his favorite blankets. If he wants to get closer, he will sit on your arm or chest, butt-first. If he wants to sleep, he will rest his face against your leg or poke his head behind your back. He loves ear rubs and back scritches! If you're looking for a furry friend who will bring laughter and joy into your life, look no further than Tucker. He's an all-around good boy who's just waiting for his forever home. Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? Story
JoJo is the sweetest girl who is two years young! She came to our rescue group with a litter of puppies; now they have all been adopted, and it is her turn to find a great forever home. She's energetic, playful, and loves to show her affection. She loves her daily walks; she does a happy dance, rushes to the door, and sits for her leash. She's athletic and enjoys running alongside her human foster brother on his skateboard. She's very well-behaved and listens to commands. She's fully house- and crate-trained. JoJo loves her humans and gets along well with other dogs. She is looking for a forever home where she can be the center of attention and receive all the love she deserves. She is an absolute gem and you will be charmed by her loving nature. She can't wait to meet you and be your best friend! Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? Story
Bunny is a sweet little 14-week-old pitbull puppy with so much personality! Her story starts when she was brought into an emergency vet hospital by a family that stopped after seeing her hit by a car. She was very lucky that the only injury she suffered from was a broken right back leg--even though the vet had to remove the leg. Although she is a tripod now, but that hasn't stopped her from living life to the fullest. When Bunny first came to her fosters' home, she was shy and nervous; but she's since blossomed into a friendly and affectionate dog, especially around people and other dogs. She would do best in a home with other dogs to help keep her from being lonely. Like most puppies, she is working on potty training--she is doing well as long as you stick to a schedule. Bunny is very food motivated and already knows commands including her name, sit, kennel, and she’s working on stay, come, walking on leash, and lay down. Bunny is crate trained and sleeps in there at night and when no one is home. We do leave music or the tv on for her to help her feel comfortable in her kennel. She also does great for baths and car rides. Bunny has an amazing personality--she is goofy, snuggly, and so happy. She loves laying in the sun and playing with her foster boxer and pitbull "siblings". Her favorite part of her day is playing with other dogs. She can be persistent about playing, but does listen to other dogs' cues when they are done playing. She has also started to really enjoy fetch but is still getting the hang of it. After she is all tired out she loves to cuddle up next to you. She is sure to be a great addition to her furever home! ** Please note ** Bunny will be spayed by our vet when age-appropriate, which is included in the adoption fee. Story
Hello, my name is Lucy. I love going for walks, playing with my foster brother, and running around the backyard. I also like cuddles on the couch with my humans. When people are sad and anxious, I like to put my head on their lap and let them know everything is going to be okay. I’m a very good girl and I try to avoid jumping on people. Something I don’t like is being left alone at home. It makes me nervous, and I tend to find stuff to tear up to help with my anxiety. My foster parents don’t know my whole background, but they have a few guesses as to what happened to me by some of my behavior. Like I’m more afraid of women then men. When women raise their voice, I tend to cower. I get scared of rainstorms and thunderstorms, and I don’t like to go outside when it is raining. Loud sudden noises make me jump, and I want to hide or cuddle with someone. I am now crate trained, and for a small treat I'm fine to go into my crate and settle down. I also sleep in my crate at night. It’s actually pretty comfortable since my foster mom put thick blankets and pillows in there for me. When my foster parents have to leave me at home, they put me in my crate. It helps with my anxiety and keeps the stuffed animals and books safe. I am really hoping to find my furever family. I’m good with cats and kittens and I’m also good with other dogs, although sometimes I forget that the senior dog can’t play like the rest of us. I’m also good with people I don’t know and kids I don’t know too. It would be great if I could find a family that could use an emotional support animal. I promise I will always be there for you with cuddles and love. Hope to meet you soon! Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen?
