Story
Meet this LOVELY gal named Sprinkles! She was adopted and brought back 2 years later on February 21, 2024. She came in sad and seemed a bit neglected. Sores on her feel and hind end raw but she’s on the mend and the perfect loving FOREVER home is put there for her. Very shy but sweet and will thrive in a calm and nurturing environment. She is now 6 years old. This is her story: She came in with many of her siblings in October 2021 after being removed from the yard which they lived most of their life. Sprinkles is 4 years 3 months old, current on shots, now spayed, & ready for a fabulous life. She came in skinny, super stressed out and felt very insecure. She had recently had puppies & we had them as well…as soon as they were old enough to be weened they were separated and have been adopted. Now it’s mommas time to shine. Slowly but surely she continues to come out of that shy shell every day. She will come to you for love and body rubs and is learning to walk on the leash and sees life can be so good. She will do best in a calm & patient home that can provide her plenty of time to settle in and decompress. She will probably hid a bit at first but if you sit on the couch or chair she will come to you with time. Every day you will see her confidence getting stronger. If dogs could talk I feel we would hear a sad story from her. Yes she is shy but as sweet as sugar too. A home with a tall fenced in yard would also be good. She loves going out and sniffing around and just enjoys her freedom from being on a leash. A gentle soul who deserves a happily ever after where she can be spoiled and pampered for the rest of her life. If you feel you can give this to Sprinkles this kind of life please come out to the shelter and visit with her. May take a few times but once you see her the way other shelter volunteers and staff you will love her. Stop by for a visit with Sprinkles today.

Story
Meet this adorable girlie named Nova! She originally came into the shelter end of November 2022 and was adopted in December 2022. She is now back as of May 2024 when her owner had a change of lifestyle and could no longer keep her. So Nova is patiently awaiting her “real” adoption day. She is 1 year 11 months old, current on shots, and just a fun loving girl who deserves a loving FOREVER home to grow up in knowing happiness and a great life! Please make sure you’re ready and committed before adopting any pet into your heart and home. While many look at them as their pet we are their entire world. Stop by the shelter for a visit with Nova today and adopt her into your heart and home! If you have another dog and are interested in meeting another potential new furry member please bring him or her to the shelter and meet on neutral ground before adopting. No need to shuffle the animals around any more than necessary. Please know that 1 mosquito bite can create heart worms and they can be fatal if not treated. It is VERY important to keep your pets healthy and protected by keeping them on a once a month heart worm and flea/tick prevention. These animals are counting on you as their owner to provide them with lots a love and the proper health care so PLEASE make sure you are aware and prepared before adopting. Owning a pet is an extra expense and responsibility but is so worth every minute and penny you invest in them. They will add lots of joy and unconditional love if given a fair chance. The shelter is open Mon.-Fri. 10-1, 2-5, Sat. 10-4. Adopt a homeless pet and save a life. If you can not adopt right now come out and volunteer and make a difference in the lives of these animals while they await their FOREVER home. In order to adopt any of our "bully breeds" there is special paper work that will need to be collected and approved prior to the adoption. We love all of our dogs and want to make sure to place our "bully babies" in homes best suited for them.

Story
Meet this handsome fella named Staples! He was brought into the shelter by animal control on September 20, 2023 after he had been found hit by a car. He needed emergency surgery and thankfully was able to be seen at emergency hospital initially to stabilize and clean him up. Then once at the shelter the manager was able to get him in at Mitchell’s Village Animal hospital where his wounds were cleaned and he was stitched up and had multiple rechecks. The community donated and expenses were raised for his care. Huge thank you to the community!! Months of recovery and he’s now ready for his adoption day. He spent much of his days healing in the managers office were we learned he was very house broken. Such a sweet and loving pup. He is 1 year 6 months old, current on shots, now neutered, and in need of a loving home to call his own. Now he is in the big kennels and he has gotten very stressed and is keeping his paws crossed that it’s not much longer for his FOREVER home to come. He has been through so much and once in a home with plenty of time to run out and play he will settle in nicely. Staples so deserves to know a great life. He is smart and wants to please he just is a little over zealous at times…especially when he initially gets out of his kennel. Staples would love a home with a tall fenced in yard to play in but does not seem to like other animals while at the shelter so a home without other fur kids is best. Loves to run and chase after a ball and with a little training, patience, love, & commitment from the new owners to help guide him into his new home/life I think he will thrive and settle in pretty quickly. Stop by for a visit with Staples and give him a fabulous loving home to call his own.

Story
Meet this handsome fella named Trohbles! He and his brother came into the shelter on February 26, 2024 when their owner had too many animals and could no longer keep them. This charming guy came in scared and unsure of shelter life. Leaving behind the life he’s only known can be scary to some dogs with adjusting to new people and living arrangements. May take a few visits for him to warm up to you but once he does you will have a friend in Troubles. Time, love, consistency, and love if what they all need. Thanks to the love of the staff and volunteers Troubles is learning the ropes and settling in, he is 1 year old, current on shots, now neutered, and just a charming guy who will thrive in a home that will help him settle in and feel security and love. Maybe you have the most perfect home for Troubles.

Story
Here is a heartwarming biography for Coco, the adoptable female dog: she came into the shelter March 23, 2024 when her owners could no longer keep her. Coco is a friendly, affectionate, playful, and smart dog who came in around 1 year 7 months old and current on shots and now spayed as of June 2024. She is an adult dog, but she still has the energy and curiosity of a puppy. Coco is a very loving dog and enjoys giving kisses to her human friends. She is an intelligent dog who is always eager to learn new tricks and commands. She is a very well-behaved dog, wants to make those around her happy and smile. Coco would do best in a fun and loving home where she can just enjoy the good life. Coco's ideal home would be with someone who will play and do fun things with her but come in to settle down watching a movie while snuggling on the couch. She would benefit from loving and consistent routine. She is a wonderful companion who will bring lots of love and joy to her new home. Visit with Coco today! If you have another dog and are interested in meeting another potential new furry member please bring him or her to the shelter and meet on neutral ground before adopting.
