Story
- She's truly the perfect size for most homes. She's small enough that you can easily pick her up - 35 lbs. (and she doesn't mind being picked up when you need to do it), but has a "big dog" personality (not yappy or nervous at all).Basic Information:- house-trained- crate-trained (but doesn't NEED to be in a crate - she's perfectly safe when left loose in the house)- peppy when she's outside, but calm inside the house- snuggly - loves to sit on your lap- playful - giver her a good toy and she's happy for a long time (heck, she's even happy to chase her tail if she's got no toys around)- adorable - her little tongue is too big for her mouth, so about an inch of the tip often hangs out; extremely cute- would love to get on the furniture, but doesn't mind when you say no (i.e., she listens to you)- food-driven, so she's good at training, but not so food-driven that she tries to get the food off your plate (see above she listens well)- only barks when she hears the doorbell or noises outside (in other words, not a nervous dog that barks at everything)- independent - she is not needy in the least; at the same time, she's loving and excited to see you/be with you when you come homeLayla will do well with a house without children and will need a compatibility test with another dog. She gets along well with some and not so well with others. If you are interested in adopting Layla, please visit www.pawsitiveimpactncdogrescue.com/adopt. ##973536##

Story
Shelby is believed to be a Labrador-Pittie mix, which is honestly a dream combination; the fun of a Labrador and the smushy cuddles of a pitty! Her webbed paws are hilariously big for her body, and she lives for a summer swim! Shelby is the type of dog that you’ll need an extra 5 minutes with. While we don’t know the details of her past, we do know that she had enough experiences with NC’s finest to distrust humans. Shelby might initially bark or do a little nervous jig, but this sweet girl emerges in just a few minutes and she is worth the wait! Now that we’ve tried to sell you on Shelby, it’s YOUR turn to sell yourself TO Shelby. Shelby will need three or more of the following adopter qualities before she unpacks her bags and calls it home:1) Seven bedroom mansion by the lake, complete with pool and dock for optimal swimming opportunity (okay, a walk to the river or lake will also do...we guess)2) Netflix subscription. Shelby is currently rewatching The Office for the 8th time3) Comfy bed to allow for optimal cuddles4) TREATS. All of the treats.5) A canine companion for company and cardio (Wrestlemania ??)6) A human with ideal arm strength for belly scratches and leg strength for those lake walks (see item 7) Toys. We’re talking squeaky, fluffy, rope, rubber, whatever! Shelby’s quote: “Forever is just a word until someone comes along and gives it meaning. Help me find my forever.”If you are interested in adopting Shelby, please visit www.pincdogrescue.com/adopt and submit an adoption application. Hogan is an adorable little pocket pittie still looking for his forever home. He loves other dogs, loves to run and play and very food motivated and eager to learn!  Hogan does have a little bit of a fearful side if cornered so we do not recommend him being in a home with young children. ##983071##

I have been fostering Coco for a family member but they are no longer in the position to get her back and I can no longer care for her. Coco is a sweet puppy that loves to be held despite her size. She loves to snuggle and give kisses. She is very gentle and just wants to be close to you. She is potty training but she is doing great going out often.

Story
Meet Sweet Stella! Stella is a very sweet and good-natured girl who loves to play fetch and chase her toys. She loves everyone she meets and wants all the belly rubs you can give. She has even been on TV - watch her clip here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_w4mnv7rJWM She is around 4 to 5 years old, 73 lbs, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. She loves to go for walks just as much as she loves taking naps on the couch or sprawled out in the sunshine! After a few ear rubs and pets she rolls over on her back for belly rubs for pretty much anyone. She is great at riding in the car and is able to jump into the back of an SUV on her own with no assistance. Stella is eager to meet all dogs (small and large) and people that come near her. Her tail will wag the whole time - no hesitation, no aggression. She is definitely man’s best friend. In a temporary foster placement, it was noted that she gravitated to the father and son of the household, and not at all with the mother. Although she is fine with other dogs in social settings, once she is at home, she really wants to be the only animal. Definitely no cats for Stella. Stella is a an all around great, loveable girl looking for a family to love. If your family needs a sweet and lovable house-hippo, Stella is your girl! Please complete an adoption application on our website and once approved, we can set up a meet and greet for you. Fenced yard required for this girl who loves to run and play! Story
Cooper has had a really rough start! We believe he was used as a bait dog and has PTSD... other dogs barking stresses him out and he becomes fearful then goes into 'fight to survive' mode. He also eats very fast and is food aggressive with other dogs (not with people). Young kids stress him out as well. He LOVES toys... any kind of toys... but he doesn't like to share them. With people, he's SUPER SWEET! Seriously one of the most loving dogs we've had. He's well mannered, house trained, will sit on command, goes right into his crate at bedtime or any time he's asked to do so, and loves to snuggle. He also loves to play in water and swim (we have a pool and hot tub... he loves to get in with us). I truly believe he'd be the perfect pet in a home with no other dogs (and an older kid would be fine). He just needs to find his forever home! Note: He's currently staying with a family in FL.

Story
This beautiful 4-year-old, 60-pound grey Pit Bull Terrier is all about love! Lovey is fully vaccinated, crate and house trained, and is ready to find her special family. Lovey adores her people and would make an amazing companion for anyone looking for a loyal, affectionate dog. With her loving nature, she could easily be a great running or hiking partner, as she has the energy and enthusiasm for outdoor adventures. However, Lovey has made it clear that she prefers to be the Queen of the home—she’s happy to be the only dog and doesn't mind sharing walks with other dogs, but she’d rather not have to share her space at home. Lovey is well-trained and knows commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “place.” She’s obedient, listens well, and is a joy to have around. She’s also perfectly fine being left alone while you're at work—she’ll just hang out and wait for your return, showering you with love when you get home. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal dog who would thrive as the only pet and be your best friend for hikes, runs, or lazy days at home, Lovey might be the perfect fit for you! If you are interested in adopting Lovey, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age. **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. November 13, 2024, 3:09 pm

Story
Meet Diamond: The Sweet, Strong, and Devoted Mama.  Diamond is a 2-year-old mixed breed who is 100% good girl through and through. While we can’t pinpoint exactly what she’s mixed with, we’re pretty sure she’s the perfect blend of sweetness and strength. She’s also an incredibly loving mom to four adorable puppies—two boys and two girls—who are growing up fast and will be ready for their forever homes after December 19th. Diamond’s journey hasn’t been easy. After an emergency c-section to save her life and the lives of her babies, she is now spayed, fully vaccinated, and ready to begin the next chapter of her life. Despite everything she’s been through, Diamond is all about love, happiness, and enjoying every moment. Her foster family has nothing but praise for this sweet girl! From the moment her puppies were just two weeks old, Diamond was already asking to play with the resident dogs—and she has loved every minute of it. She’s a social butterfly who enjoys meeting other dogs, playing, and then returning to care for her little ones. Diamond is wonderfully gentle and nurturing with her puppies, but when it’s time to play, she’s all about having fun and soaking up affection from her humans. Diamond is great with humans and other dogs, although she has not been tested with children yet. We can’t imagine any issues, though, and think she would do well with a family who understands the gentle nature of a loving mom. As for cats, well, that’s still a mystery—but she’s certainly a dog who loves company! If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and devoted companion, Diamond just might be the perfect fit for you. She’s ready to start a new chapter in her life and would love to meet her forever family soon! If you are interested in adopting Diamond, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. Story
Sassy is approximately a 7 year old pitbull mix weighing about 60lbs. She is fully vaccinated and now looking for her forever family. She’s been with her foster mom and trainer Lilly now for 9 months. Can you believe she’s had zero applications?  Sassy loves people and loves to be close by and be pet. She’s loved to cuddle up on the couch or on her dog bed. She is easily entertained with bully sticks, benebones, and toys. She loves to sunbathe in the backyard and lay where ever the sun hits and will gladly accept a belly rub while doing so. She is crate trained, house trained, and sleeps quietly in the crate any time needed. She rides well in the car in a car kennel. She has a goofy personality with lots of silly behavior that will keep you laughing all day. She has done well with all the dogs she has met and been with.  She loves meal times and will come in from outside doing her "bunny hops". Look out for her classic "sassy" lip smack. She is very gentle when taking treats and knows most basic commands. She's doing well with bath time and grooming. She loves going for car rides and taking walks to sniff all the new smells. Car rides and walks are definitely high on her list of favorite things (besides snacks). She is also working on other commands like place, here, heel and wait. She does well passing other dogs and gets along well with other dogs in the house.  Sassy has high prey drive for small critters like rabbits or wildlife, so she would do best in a home with no cats and at least a 5 foot fence. While Sassy hasn't spent much 1 on 1 time with kids, her friendly nature suggests she would be good with them. She has done well passing play grounds and athletic fields. If you’re looking for an older, laid back dog, with a funny personality and sweet as could be, look no further. Sassy is eagerly waiting to finally call a place of her own “home”.  Sassy will also come with 4 free continued training sessions with dog trainer Lilly Staudt (with KeenDog training in Charlotte, NC) If you are interested in Sassy, please complete an adoption application at lastdaydogs.comNovember 6, 2024, 9:04 am
